Played 1/16. POP was an absurd 5.5 hours. At one point the group in front of us just sat chatting in the fairway for 5 mins, meanwhile the group ahead of them was 2+ holes clear. Showed up right at... Continue »

Early morning tee time. First couple holes it was cold and then the sun came out and it was a Chamber of Commerce day. Tee boxes were level and had good coverage. Fairways were wet and had a couple ba... Continue »

Over the past few weeks, the Champions Club has received a couple of very unfavorable reviews on this site. This is very disappointing to us, and I am always unhappy when someone has an unpleasant experience here. We care about our customers. They come to enjoy themselves and be challenged by the...

Quirky par 5. Layup off the tee with at least 3 clubs less than the yardage to the red hazard would normally indicate becasue of the severe downhill and roll. Aim well into the right part of the fairway and let the slope funnel your ball to the middle of the fairway. Avoid the bunker on the left, you do not want a 100+ yard forced carry over a ravine out of that bunker for your next shot! Very difficult green to hold with a long iron or fairway metal if going for it in 2. However, whether you go for it aggressively in two or play position golf and try and set up a normal wedge approach shot... your 3rd shot is likely to be uphill, at least partially blind, probably with an unlevel stance to a very undulating, tiered green. Getting your approach or chip onto the proper tier is critical or you will likely not get down in 2 or less putts very often.

Fairly generous landing area for this course. Second shot is to a larger green. Left is safer on the approach but plays semi-blind to the green over a hillside - especially the further left you are off the tee.
