Itslikeimsayin's review for the Chino Creek course applies to Butterfield Stage as well. Walked on as a single at 7:40 am on a Saturday (8/21/10) and joined a twosome on the 1st tee by 8:00. Finished in under 4:15. Perfect pace of play. This is a good place for weekend "value" golf. $36 to walk in the morning and they have great deals including cart in the pm when it gets hot. It was not crowded at all. The course is in pretty good shape for what it is. It is very lush all around. Greens are consistent but very soft and a little on the slow side. They putt just fine once you get used to it and hold any kind of approach shot. As previous reviewers stated, the rough is a little thick but I enjoyed this challenge because this course needs it. It is a very easy layout otherwise. The bunkers did look thin like others have said, but most are set well off the greens. You shouldn't find too many of them unless you are really spraying it. Also, the cow smell that this location is known for was much less potent than my last trip here 2 years ago. It's really not bad at all. Recommend this course for a quick, cheap weekend round where you can make some birdies - if those attributes appeal to you.
