Looks like they will reopen on March 25, 2017.
From their website:
•Every hole on the course was affected by the storm.
•13 holes were severely impacted by water, mud and silt.
•Crews from both golf courses have been working to remove mud and silt from golf course.
•An Agronomist for the United States Golf Association visited Monday, March 6th, to take soil samples and pictures of the damages and will report back to KemperSports
•We are seeking suport from the community to help reopen Buenaventura Golf Course. Volunteers will be needed to help our maintenance crews clear mud, silt, and debris from the course. If you are interested in being part of the Buenaventura Restoration Project we will be hosting guided volunteer site tours on the following days and times.
•Friday March 10th 11:00am
•Friday March 10th 2:00pm
•Tuesday March 14th 11:30am
•Tuesday March 14th 2:00pm
•Thursday March 16th 11:00am

Sounds like the entire property is a stormwater receiving/holding area. Where all the runoff goes!
Remember, we could be at work!!

The course and most all of the immediate surrounding areas are almost totally flat. It would not surprise me if the water NOT running off may have been part of the issue. I could picture it just sitting in low lying areas for ???
I was VERY impressed that Phil in the Pro Shop spent 5 minutes informing me of the above when I called to inquire about tee times after receiving a text special from Buena that applied for this coming weekend. He also added that #3 is currently playing as a par 3 because the entire fairway was resodded.
I am playing there tomorrow with full knowledge of the above, so we will see how it is.
Buena was in good shape considering the drought the last few times I played there last summer. The fairways were the best they had been in awhile. Hopefully by resodding and removing silt from the surrounding farmland Buena will avoid what happened to Camarillo Springs. I remember Camarillo Springs as being fairly lush 15+ years ago, when I was first playing there. During one of the last heavy storm years in the early 2000's, Camarillo Springs was flooded with runoff from the surrounding farmland. I remember the water just sitting there for days as I drove by it on the freeway. It has NEVER been the same since.
The goal is long and straight! But on the many times I cannot seem to hit them straight, I at least want to hit them long!
