Got my first Glen Annie experience this past week and it was certainly one to remember - some good, some bad and a lot of in-between. I think it was worth the $100 or so greens fee (with cart because ... Continue »

Played a rare for me mid-afternoon round in warmer than predicted temperatures. Although it has been seven years since I last played here, I thought I would have better recollection of the course. Hon... Continue »

Reachable Par 4. A mere 286 yds. from the tips and its downhill all the way. If you are a hack then lay up in the fairway with an iron, but if you have some skill you can have a go at this green. I've seen a hole in one on this hole and numerous eagles (myself included). This begins the stretch of holes that are just begging to be birdied! If you are going to miss on this hole miss short b/c right is OB and left is bunkers, another fairway and a frog crossing. And if you want to have some fun with the group in front of you then tee off when they are on the green and no matter what you hit off the tee they will react as if the ball is going to land on top of them!

Par 5 dog leg right. I will admit this hole is a bit absurd but the more times you play it the easier it gets. The main thing on this hole is positioning. Off the tee, try to stay on the right side of the fairway so you will have less of a distance on your second shot. You have 2 choices once you hit your tee shot, 1) take out your 9 iron and aim straight to the fairway ahead and lay it up to the 150 mark, or 2) if you have some power you can go for this green in two, albeit you will be hitting a blind shot into a narrow green over a mountain! If you aim over the big tree on the left side of the hill then you can use that as your line to the green. Its roughly 250yds. from the end of the first fairway to the green. You can actually miss a little right and the hill will still roll your ball down to the right of the green. This is definitely a hole that is suited for the local and I still remember the first time I played this hole I thought I was aiming towards the direction of the green only to find out that my ball ended up on the 11th green! Once on the green, play your ball below the hole to give yourself a nice up hill putt on this two tiered green.
