Played in a charity scramble on Monday, 9/20. Outside staff was humming along as they grabbed bags and had them on the carts ready to go for 144 players with a shotgun start. Staff had us at our assigned holes and we teed off a couple of minutes early.

Course is in great late summer shape. Tee boxes were moved forward and back from the normal White tee areas and I liked the different set up. Fairways were fast with run but still lush. Rough was about 1-2 inches above the fairway. No comment on the sand but it was well groomed. Greens were really good, medium fast, and a bit soft. Unfortunately some have not been repairing their ball marks, scaring the surface.

Reflection Bay has been one of the favorite courses and it did not disappoint. Its the perfect time to get out and play.

Day 2 in Vegas was at the always enjoyable Reflection Bay. I didn’t get to play here a couple of months ago so I wanted to make sure I didn’t skip this GK supporter course this go around. Check in was a bit of a mess. Pro shop was fine but getting a cart was a 10 minute ordeal. They wanted to charge us extra for single carts when we didn’t want single carts. I will hand it to one of the young gentleman cart attendants who new his customer service and got it all straightened out. The other gal, I’m sorry to say was clueless and didn’t want to solve the problem. Her only “solution” was go pay for a single cart.

Once that was straightened I opted to skip the hitting bay in favor of a breakfast sandwich which was extremely reasonably priced. Off to the first tee as a foursome teeing off right at our 7:40 tee time behind the 7:30 am group.

Reflection bay just aerated their greens a couple of weeks ago and they are still about a week or so from being completely healed but are pretty close. Putts rolled smooth at a medium-slow pace. Either I seemed to always be on the “correct” side or the greens are more docile than I remembered. Most greens only had subtle breaks.

Fairways were lush and a pleasure to hit from. Looking down the fairways from the tee box, you could see a lot of brown coloring blended throughout the fairways. My guess is they have done some maintenance and possibly verticut the fairways a few weeks ago. Standing over your ball you didn’t notice the brown tint and again, the fairways were plush.

Tee boxes were all level with ample coverage including the par 3’s.

As many including myself have stated before, Reflection Bay is a super fun layout that has tons of elevation changes and handful of holes right on the lake. Pace of Play was spectacular. Our foursome finished right at 3.5 hours! The group in front of us was long gone and they must have finished a good 1.5-2 holes ahead of us and we never saw the group behind us.

Reflection Bay is always an enjoyable track and today was no exception.

Thanks to GK Guru Kevin Eng (Head Pro) at Reflection Bay for the experience. This course is one of my favorites and has a little bit for everyone. It can be really tough, like the 2 water hazard Hole 1 Par 4 or nice and easy like the Hole 3 Par 3. Either way, you won't be let down. Keep your phone on you for some really nice photo ops. Staff is always on point and if you like French Toast, try the breakfast sandwich. Trust me, it's good. The course was in great shape and I couldn't be more satisfied. Can't wait to play again.

Our second day of GK Plays Las Vegas was at spectacular Reflection Bay Golf Club. Big hats-off to our own GKer Kevbig (Head Golf Professional at Reflection Bay) and his team for really taking care of us. From check-in to leaving, Reflection Bay was on it. They even set us up in a beautiful private room while also working a wedding.

The golf course was in excellent summer shape. Greens smooth, mostly firm and as expected a little slow as to fend off the blazing heat. Fairways, perfect lush Bermuda. Just a pleasure to hit from. Bermuda rough thankfully cut just above fairway height throughout the golf course. I’ve played Reflection Bay in the summer when the rough is longer and it sure makes the golf course a bear. Bunkers in very good condition with excellent sand quality. Tee boxes in great shape lush and groomed.

Reflection Bay Golf Club is one of my favorite desert layouts. Scenic and challenging. Every hole is quite unique to the others. Of course being a Nicklaus Signature design it favors a fade but there are certainly holes where draw is preferred. It’s a very fun track with risk reward holes. My kind of golf.

Prior to our round Kevbig showed a couple of us the inside hitting bay/club fitting studio. I was impressed. The clubhouse is grand, proshop large and bar/restaurant comfortable. Service top-notch. We’ll be back for another outing for sure.

Played with JohnnyGK and Mtaylor in the final group of last Sunday’s GK event out here. Bag drop could’ve used a sign to indicate it wasn’t open, as I dropped off my clubs and they just sat there until I went and fetched them myself a while later. Starter was friendly and informative near the practice green before sending us to the first tee. Pace was good. I was a little surprised a course of this caliber has no system for indicating where the pins are on the greens. All the flags are black and there’s no diagram with green sections or anything.

Conditions were mostly very nice! Greens were medium speed, mostly smooth and accepted full shots well. Fairways and rough were great considering the extreme temperatures; mostly green with slight yellowing in spots. White tee boxes were all good. The bunkers I was in looked great but seemed like a rather thin layer of sand on top of a firmer base.

This was my second time playing the course (extreme opposite weather conditions – last time was freezing and extremely high winds) and I love the layout. Unfortunately I played poorly this time and the course won’t let you get away with that. I’d love to actually play well here next time!

Part 2 of GK Plays Vegas on Sunday, 7/11. I have never hidden my Reflection Bay Fan Boy and was happy to see it was in great shape. Staff is always happy and very friendly. I arrived early to enjoy a large breakfast sandwich off of a huge breakfast menu. Definitely going to find something you like on it.

Course is playing very well in this incredible heat. Tee boxes were level with no real damage. Fairways were lush with some roll. Rough was just enough to cause an issue. Bunkers were in great shape with some heavyish sand. Greens were on the summer speed, medium, but fairly smooth. Some had some ball mark issues common with resorts.

I am an unabashed Reflection Fan Boy and it did not disappoint this weekend. There's just something about the drive out there, and the views of Lake LV as you play 14-18 that I just love. Reflection Bay is in my top 3 of recommendations in Vegas.

This past Sunday we got to play Reflection Bay again, boy was it a hot one. Big shout out to Kev to letting us come back out and enjoy this course!

The course was in fantastic shape, as always.

I got to play here with my Aunt and Uncle and Fiance, was a great group! This was their first time playing this course and they loved it!

I played from the Black Tee's this day, and it was so much fun. If the weather was about 20 degrees cooler and the humidity wasn't so high it would of been perfect.

Tee boxes were in great shape, always was able to get a great stance and position on every teebox.

Greens were slower compared to Paiute, but they rolled great. After about 3 holes I was able to get the speed down and started to drop some putts. There were a lot of marks on the green's most likely from people not repairing their marks earlier in the week. This wasn't an issue as I normally always fix 3-4 per green.

The fairways were in great shape as well, you can get some solid roll on them. I was getting great lies out of them every hole.

The club house is amazing, the views are amazing. Being that close to Lake Las Vegas was great to see so many people out enjoying the water. Had a bite to eat at the club house at the turn, hotdog was delicious. After the round I enjoyed a nice pizza, tasted great!

It's always a joy coming out here with the greenskeeper group. I look forward to the next time I am able to come out to Las Vegas and play this fantastic course! Worth every penny.

I played here Sunday, July 11th as part of the GK Event with Fastfish433, mpisarski01 and Mike. Hands down, this is one of my favorite courses to play in Las Vegas, worth the rate would be an understatement. Facility: Still, my only knock is the lack of a driving range. You can hit into a net, which does the job of warming up but I do like seeing my ball flight. As another GK'er stated, I sure looked good for the first 15 feet of my shot, ha! The bar was open for in-door dining and has a great selection of beers; I did not have any of the breakfast but the sandwich looked good and I was told it was. Putting green is great and the speeds were similar to on-course. There is also a chipping area by the first tee/starter. Course: The fairways were in excellent condition and there was no bad place to be. The sound was nice and fluffy the few times I was in there, not many rocks which is nice in the desert. The rough was still nice and wasnt too shaggy, or penalizing unless you were way off line. I didnt notice many bare spots out there, but there will be some and that is to be expected in this area. The greens were a little slower this day, but still ran smooth and pure. The tee boxes were all level and no major bare spots or divot damage. Our pace of play was around 4 hours and 15 minutes, partly because of the heat that day. All and all a fantastic outing with a great group of GK'ers!

Played Reflection Bay on a “ cooler” Sunday morning 103 degrees as part of the second day of the GK Plays. We teed off at 8am as a 3 some with Stickboy and Micheal as my other playing partners. It is a beautiful facility with a residential development nearby and some beautiful custom homes on the lake. They have 2 hotels on site and many lake toys to choose from. From check in to everyone on staff, they couldn’t be nicer and when the temperatures are in the the 1 teens people tend to get agitated, so I congratulate the staff on the great job they did plus they had a wedding they were dealing with. We played the white tees, thank you Vince.. And seeing how this was my first time there I felt it was a positional type of golf course when enough room for misses. We got lost on the getting to the tee on the 2nd hole ( A pattern will follow) and eventually arrived. Tee boxes were nice and level and par3’s had divots filled in. I thought the greens were a tad slower than the previous day at Paiute(excellent courses) and there were a few divots that I had repaired however it was pretty consistent after the first hole. From the 1st hole there are many forced carries at this course which why it carries a 136 slope rating and has a great deal of terrain with some uphill and downhill holes. I thought the fairways were in excellent condition despite the high summer heat and I was in a few sand traps which played very nice had a good base in them. Hole 6 got lost again looking for tee box, last time I let an old retired guy drive, which had another forced carry for the second shot. I have to say there was nothing I did not like about the course, and it was a fair test of golf and after the round we got to sit in coolest room in the building. I ordered the fish and chips which was outstanding and I can’t wait to return highly recommended.
