It was obvious that the pace would be longer than expected and it was- just 15 minutes over 5hrs
The check in was smooth and quick. Breakfast was quick and good with a cheerful server.
The beverage lady came around many times.

The course overall was pretty good!
Fairways were nicely covered with green grass and tightly mowed- though some water puddles were on some areas as they protected from the heat. Not many divots at all.

The teeing grounds were very good. Some divots from the days use but nothing terrible on those par three holes.

The sand were surprisingly okay this time and had sand- some were wet from sprinklers but I guess it’s unavoidable.

The rough wasn’t bad even in the inner tree lines and mostly not penalizing. Some were as tall as 4 inches but for the most part it looks to be a couple inches.

The greens were nice. It rolled about a 9-10 in stimp meter. Some unfixed divots but mostly smooth and true rolling.

We really enjoyed it here and plan on coming back again in a day or two.

Played here today with a TeeOff.com "Deal" time for 11:56. For the last few days, Las Vegas weather forecasters have been acting like the Storm of the Century would hit today around noon, so this morning I called the course to see if they planned to be open. They said yes, so I asked if I could possibly get out earlier, and they said to come by around 11:00. I showed up around 10:25 and was sent directly to the first tee to join another single just about to tee off. We were stuck behind a foursome who took forever on every green but pace was still good. Another single joined us on 10, and we finished in a little under 3.5 hours total. Got rained on a little bit but not too bad, although the winds were howling all day.

Conditions are mixed. Greens are a patchwork of different types of grasses, leaving them a bit bumpy. They are around medium speed and medium firmness. Fairways are the highlight with great coverage of overseeded rye. The rough seems to be kikuyu, some where the ball sinks down in and other spots are thinner. Gold tee boxes were really nice. The bunkers I was in were well maintained but a little thin on sand, but not bad.

First time playing here. It's a very old-school traditional layout dating back to the 1930s. There's not much trouble lurking other than trees lining the fairways. Very flat. One hole is across the street from Siegfried & Roy's compound (look for the SR gates), which was cool to see. Their "Deal" times are a great value in a city where golf is getting increasingly more expensive. Good place to get some golf in but by no means a destination course.

First time here. It was slow moving for about 5 holes then it was normal and fun after. Even the layout design starts out with short holes then it also became fun.
The greens were rolling good with a few occasional bumps but no big deal.
The bunkers have sand and the locals tell me that they haven’t had sand in a while- looks good and the two I got in were good.
The fairways were closely mowed and not so many divots. It was pretty lush like the rough- pretty uniformed and consistent without bare spots. The teeing grounds were in good shape and I can only remember one in the back that was undulated- makes it interesting to help some shot shapes… haha
It was fun and I really enjoyed it here.
Lookout for where your ball goes. People around doesn’t hesitate to pick up astray balls… from the same fairway you are playing.. haha. Once was actually in between fairways but twice in the same fairways were annoying. They put it back when you catch them but what if you don’t!!

Played 4/5/22 in 25 mph winds gusting to 40 (!) ALERT: Newly aerified, sandy greens are NOT currently listed in GK or mentioned at the course website! We came here because some of our "usual" spots were getting aeration only to find out AFTER we arrived while we were paying. No mention was made when we made our reservation previously over the phone after consulting the website. Not cool. We played in absolutely howling winds (forecast said 8-10 mph) to make the day a difficult one, but hey, that's Spring! About the course... Las Vegas Golf Club is affectionately called "the Muni" to us locals. It is a flat, somewhat tree-lined, wide-open course with water on only one hole- the 90 yd. Par-3 3rd goes over a pond. Usual conditions are good tee boxes, good fairways, scruffy rough, tough, dry/hard-panned bunkers, but quite decent greens without much undulation. Go off the fairway and as long as you're not behind trees or at rest in a cuppy lie on hardpan in-between clumps of grass you'll have a clean shot. There are a few two-tiered greens and some dog-legs to grab your attention. All in all, it makes for a fun, relaxed day at a slightly slower pace as many residents walk the course- understandably so! However, today was very well-paced (wind cancellations?), all done in 4 hours. Course conditions, though... read on. Tee boxes and fairways were not mown, so your eyes had to adjust to seeing the ball appear significantly closer to the surface on the tee boxes, par-3s gave you a choice of teeing up irons 1/2" above the surface for a clean sight or nestled down partially into the grass, and fairway shots were like hitting out of a usual "first cut", lacking some spin and serving up an occasional flyer (or was that just a bad wind read? Hmmm...I'm really not good enough to know the difference). Bunkers were hard and haven't been dragged in awhile. The sand is thin, but seems good under the crusty surface. But because they're not dragged, all the balls end up in hard, scoured pot-ditches at the low point, making it a frustrating exercise to get out, let alone control. Winter is over and the rough is in transition. This means several different grasses, dichondra and weeds all at war with each other and clumpy or bare lies between them are the rule, so have your short game in good order around the greens as you'll seldom find a good lie. I usually play here once every couple of months or so- the rates for locals are the lowest in the valley, and seniors play 24/7 for under $30! When conditions are decent it's a fun day to just go out, crank up your drives and hopefully beat your handicap. Right now, though, with the surprise aeration, goat-pasture rough, and crusty traps... Currently not recommended. Wait until later in April and it should be its usual self.

Played 9/17/21 This is a traditional "Muni"- a fine course for those just beginning and as long as you don't go over a border fence, you'll probably not ever lose a ball. Flat, tree-lined fairways and the greens are easy to read without too much slope and very few undulations. It's a well worn, but very playable track with variable mixed grasses everywhere. If you don't get behind a tree, you'll have straight forward shots to the green as the rough is usually not a factor other than getting a little reduced spin. Bunkers were crusty and packed down, but not bare, too rocky or overgrown. Getting out wasn't tough, but control... well, maybe I just need a better game in the sand. Greens looked like crap, with bare mud and signs of intruding other grasses, BUT- they've rolled them very well to give you a quite decent surface, and only on #16 did we have putts actually bounce offline (3 of the 4 of us had 3-5 footers go airborne and change direction lol). If they could get them to be like the very nice practice green they would be darn nice! I had no problem with the tee boxes, they are mowed fine and typical of a much-played muni course- except the #16 (again!) black tee box which was just rumpled up dirt. But hey, it was a Driver off the tee hole for us, so really no issue there. Pace is a bit slower here as they allow walking and their wonderful senior rate ($26 for locals!) keeps the course full at all times with people out for a relaxed, fun day of golf. We played in 4 hours, 40 minutes. A few holdups early for 5 minutes or so, and three groups did stack up on the Par-3 6th, but we had great company with two other locals we were paired with, Jimmy and Donelle, to keep us from going flat and it moved pretty well after that. Highly recommended for beginners, distance-challenged & recreational golfers... maybe not for those seeking a more "challenging course" or a resort golf experience.

Poor that they don't say anywhere that they just punched the greens and they're bumpy, sandy and so full of deep aeration holes that you can't see the bottoms of them still a week after they did them. After playing there yesterday (4/12/21) I looked here and greenskeeper.org had noted it- my fault for not checking first!
LVGC is an inexpensive, flat, enjoyable casual round with wide enough fairways and big enough greens that the only penalties are being caught in the rough behind trees or going OB over the border fences. Lots of room to roam. Favoring one side or the other you can usually stay out of trouble. It's also one of the very few courses in Las Vegas that allows walking, and although that can slow things up a tad, we still completed our round in just under 4 1/2 hours.
Fairways were decent and easily playable. Rough consists of two kinds of grasses- small clumps of thick, lush green grass interspersed with low, flat dormant ones, so shots into the rough invariably end up cupped between the clumps. Better players without wayward shots should have no problems (we're not them, lol). Sand traps are difficult with hard-packed crusty areas, unraked divots, pits, footprints and also some reasonably playable areas. We just defaulted to totally improper "lift and place" in them to give ourselves a chance. Can't fault the course as with COVID everyone knows bunker bottoms are mostly this way everywhere since no raking or maintenance is done this last year. Tee boxes were OK, flat with the usual unfilled divots on par-3s, but wide enough to easily find a good area to tee it up.
Recommendation? Wait a couple of weeks for the aeration effects to stabilize and then enjoy it at the end of April throughout the Summer.

Played 6-15-18 afternoon as a single on a GN deal for $18.49 including cart and finishing in a little over 2 hours on a pretty empty course. Tee boxes could use a little leveling, they had descent coverage but a little thin. Fairways were a little dry and thin with some bare spots. Rough was in about the same condition as the fairways, and not much longer. Was in one greenside bunker that was hardpan. Greens were soft, slow and bumpy. Pretty plan short course with parallel tree lined fairways and one par 3 over water. Looked to have a pretty nice driving range and practice area.

Played 1.6.18. This is basically like playing golf in a community park. For those familiar with the course design style of William Bell, this track reminds of you pretty much every other Bell designed course. A "casual" players course for sure.

The good: For those looking for a no stress round of golf this will do the trick. The fairways are wide and although there are lots of trees on the course they're not really in your way on many holes. In some cases it felt like you actually had to try to miss the fairway.
The greens were SOFT and held even the hottest thinnest hit approach shots. They were slow which allowed you to be as aggressive with your putt as you desired. Its a flat course , which makes for an easy walk and more importantly no matter where you hit your ball you never loose sight of it as there are no undulating fairways or blind shots or slopes to cause you any distress at all.

The Bad: It is not the prettiest course , and as such it isn't a course you would add to your list of courses you'd like to play while visiting Vegas. The staff / starter was a nice enough fella but managing the groups to allow for a more enjoyable round was not his cup of tea. I checked in at 11 am for my 1145 tee time. I was paired with another single and we were behind a 5some, and there was a 4 some in front of them that had never played golf on an actual course before. behind us was 3 players. I can think of several ways those groups could have been organized for all to enjoy the day. The new golfers were being yelled at by the 5some and I only know this because basically we were playing as if we were an 11 some! No Marshall to be found. One of the slowest most aggravating rounds of golf I've ever had.....ever.
The maintenance of the course was ok but on a few holes you couldn't take a step without stepping in goose dung. The 1 bunker I was in was not just bad it was awful! I would estimate there was maybe a 1/2 inch of top sand on top of what felt like was cement. On at least 4 holes my approach into the green plugged down to about half the ball, you could see evidence that this had happened to quite a few others as the greens had some pretty bad ball marks that were not repaired.

In summation : If you are an avid golfer , this is a good enough place to get some work in however there are quite a few other courses nearby that would give you a little more enjoyable experience. If you are brand new to the game you'll probably enjoy it immensely. value ? Well sometimes you get what you pay for . it was $20.00 cart included , which probably is a fair price.

I played here Monday morning after extending my GK Plays weekend by a day. I had booked a 6:45 tee time through TeeOff.com. Both their site and GN had higher non-resident rates, but that wasn't a factor on TO, so the $45 rate there was cheapest even with the extra booking fee. I was paired with another single and a twosome. We went off third behind a couple other groups. We never pushed them much and nobody ever pushed from behind, so it was a great brisk morning pace of about 3:20.

Conditions were good overall. The course looks nice and green throughout all the areas that matter after its overseed. Conditions/lies might vary a little when you are up close and personal with the fairways and rough. The turf was very wet and soft, so you really had to focus on clean ball contact to avoid fat shots. The greens were very soft, but rolling fairly smooth at medium speeds. They actually ran faster than they looked and continued to speed up as things dried out. I was in one bunker. It was very wet, compacted sand, so all I could attempt was a clean pick.

This is an okay old muni course. It is flat and pretty wide open throughout. Overall, a fairly basic William P. Bell design without any real distinctive qualities. If not for the occasional mountain view in the distance, you wouldn't even know you are in Vegas (or even any kind of desert setting) while playing here. You could pick this course up, plop it in the middle of Bakersfield and it wouldn't change a thing. Just a simple old style local course, so not really a destination course at all. For what it is, though, it was fine and the good conditions helped make it as enjoyable as possible for my round.
