"Out early Sunday 25th flight tourney. For how much play this course gets, holding up pretty well. Ironically, the trouble spots for BV are now in reverse: the greens are absolutely hammered; the fairways and rough are 6+.
More sections of fairway have been converted from rye: [6/10/12/13/16]. Looks like Bermuda? The greens ran very bumpy and slow.
Warning for any GKer’s playing the Ventura City this weekend: stay out of the rough. It’s real and will grab your club shut if you overplay the lie. Last year some college kid shot 66 at BV- I’ll be very interested to see what the low score is this year.
Happy with the choice to play tourneys at BV this year- pleasant environment, people and customer service. And when the course moves into tournament mode, again proves that yardage is not the only way to keep scores up."
