All in all the course was in good shape. It seemed like every hole we played today the grounds crew was out with stationary sprinklers and hoses and watering a lot. Only real complaint I had was the fairway on Hole #5. It was horrible, there were more bare spots than those with grass. Otherwise, good.

I reserved my tee time the day before (played on 4/17) with standbygolf and got a rate of $178 which is not that much of a discount. Was staying at the MGM and this course is about a $40 cab ride. The practice range has grass tees and there is a short game and putting green near the clubhouse all of which were very nice. Teed off at about 8:30 with another single and we didn't hit another group until about the 12th or 13th hole and we couldn't pass them because there were other groups ahead of them. Now about the course. The greens were slick, these greens rolled true and were absolutely smooth. I would not have expected this with these greens b/c they appeared to be a little brown in some spots but this had no effect on the roll of the ball. I played the back tees and I don't think the course plays as long as the score card indicates but if you can keep the ball in play and putt well you should do well here. Fairways, tee boxes, and sand were all great. The rough wasn't overall difficult so there was really no penalty for going in. The views of this course were pretty incredible and I've played the reflection bay courses and the tpc course and neither had the views in my opinion compared to this course. The only thing that left a sour taste in my mouth was the guy I played with and I were going to share a ride back to the strip and the course got us a ride back but there must have been some deal in the works b/c there were several cabs that dropped other golfers off but we couldn't get a ride with them so we had to wait 45 minutes for our ride to get there. Also the ride was $75 back to the strip, not sure exactly how it costs $40 to get there and $75 back. I've learned to just rent a car next time i'm there. All in all this was a great experience and i would definitely play this course again.

A nice layout, with a good mix of wide open fairways, and very challenging narrow holes. It is a good test for every level of golfer, with some forced carries off each of the many tee placements, and some well designed par 3s that trick the eye from the tee. The service was very good (friendly, helpful, and caring).

Played 4/25/07 in the late afternoon on a warm, sunny day with only light breezes. Course was almost deserted at this time of day - but cart girl came by a couple times. Very good conditions with greens being quick and almost too firm. Fairways in good shape, not-too-severe rough, plenty of sand in the bunkers. Unfilled divots and unrepaired ball marks on greens were a fairly serious problem, and many tees are not level. This course plays through several arroyos resulting in many sidehill lies, which get more severe the farther from the fairway center you go. Designed for better players. Recommended.

Classic Troon service. This was my second trip here and the key piece of advice that I can give is make sure to check on the condition of the course before you visit. I played today and the course was in great condition, second only to the incredible service we received. I played last August and the course was sopping wet and dying. Besides a few gimmick holes, the track is nice and very enjoyable to play. If the wind picks up, some of the uphill holes can play long.

Played 4/4/07 on a warm, humid late afternoon with a steady breeze moving through the deep arroyos on this course. Wind was most often dead behind or dead into you as it funneled through these openings, so it really affected club selection. Course was in very good condition – greens were firm but rolled well, fairways gave good lies, rough was not too long but could grab the clubhead. You need to be aware of where hills and the Vegas Valley are to determine which way putts will turn. Severe elevation changes on some holes and some semi-blind shots mean that playing previously definitely helps in terms of knowing where to hit shots. Minor negatives - several very uneven or sloped tee boxes; many tees were placed well forward of card distances today; water only at bathrooms after 4 and 13, and we got parched. No cart girl this late. Recommended.

Played twilight. Service was outstanding. Course marshall was by several times to check on everyone. Drink cart came by several times. Course layout was outstanding, providing a very good test of skills from all tees. I'll be back.

I played the Lexington course on Thursday, August 10th and the course was in horrible shape. The fairways were more brown than green. The greens were green, but sanded with coarse sand. The rough was more brown than the fairways. The course attempted to rehabilitate the course by drenching it in water, but that resulted only in a wet brown course. It was so bad that the starter recommended that we bump onto green patches. I guess that's Vegas Summer Rules.
Aside from the awful course condition, the course was nice. I played the back tees, but felt that only the par 5's played long, all but one three-shot holes. Elevation changes are dramatic and the yardage book should be consulted frequently, especially on the first few holes on the back side to avoid good shots with bad results.
Although I agree that a few holes are unnecessarily tricked up, I enjoyed the course layout and would consider going back if the course looked more like a golf course and less like a hay field.

Played Sat. 07/08/2006, teed off at 12. Course was in good shape. Fairways were in good shape, tee boxes and greens were average. Course is a little tricky the first time and had plenty of elevated tee boxes. This made it important to check your yardages because a lot of junk comes into play if you hit it through the faiways in the wrong spots. Pick a line that fits your eye and hit it straight. Staff was helpful and friendly. For $50 it was a great deal.

Played this course on 19 Jun (Monday) for the local twight rate of $38. This is a fun course to play as it has many elevated tee shots that require you to think your way around the course. It is a little tough to manage your way around the course on your first attempt, but it is visually stunning with some nice views of the strip. Yardages are somewhat difficult to find. The course was in good shape although the greens were somewhat slow and bumpy. Several tee boxes had uneven ground. Carts were not allowed on 6 of the holes (not including the four par 3s), but the pace of play remained below four hours. I would recommend this course due to its novelty and good overall course conditions. Definitely a good challenge.

played here on 6/14. course was in average shape. greens were quite bumpy from aeration. course is a little gimmicky i which i had done some research before playing hit thru 2 fairways which really cost me. some intersting holes though and price was far for local rate of 38 dollars so not much to complain about i like badlands better for desert course.

Played here 6/11/06 for $50. First time here and I must say that I was completely satisfied with this track. Even though I feel that a couple of holes were a bit gimmicky, I really enjoyed my round. This is a desert style layout with a couple of resort holes mixed in. Greens, fairways, traps and rough were in great shape. Only complaint was that a couple of tee boxes were not level. 3.5 hour round was the best part. I don't know if I would pay $250 for any course but if I would this would be the place.

Played Saturday afternoon, November 26th, in crisp weather with a steady north wind that made play uncomfortable when clouds rolled in. Started at 12:20 to get the twilight rate. A challenging course with lots of elevation changes, playing up and down arroyos and canyons in a picturesque setting with some great views of local mountains and the Vegas valley. Overall fairly small, firm greens make good iron play essential. Course conditions were very good. Bring a solid game and strike the ball well to score well. Saw the cart girl at least twice on each nine. Highly recommended.

When I made a reservation I was told the course was in excellent condition, However I was very disappointed by the information given and thought they were alittle less than truthful considering they were aerating the fairways. Otherwise I found the course to be very challenging and had a great time. In the future I will ask for more detail as far as the condition of the course is concerned.
