Played Saturday morning, 6/28/08, on a hot windless day. Temperature (100+) kept crowds down as the course was not crowded and we never waited on a shot. Course in very good condition throughout. Plenty of water available, cart girl came by frequently. One clueless ranger drove by twice in the middle of backswings. I still don't like some of the shoehorned, blind shot holes on the back 9, especially #12. See also my post Spring 2006. Oops, looks like I DID come back.

The holes with the blind tee shots on the back were terrible. The GPS gave no info on how to play the holes (or the starter didn't properly inform us how to get the info). It seems these holes were not so much "designed" as part of the course and were instead merely "shoved" into the existing terrain (as opposed to being designed as quality golf holes). Otherwise the course was fine, but I won't play there again (and I'm a pretty easy golfer to please).

Played 6-21-07.

My group of 16 misfits arrived late for our 6:08am tee time, but the staff was great at getting us out as soon as we were all there.

Greens, fairways, rough (maybe a little too short), bunkers and tee boxes were all in perfect shape. The front nine is fun and definitely easier than the back. Make SURE you know where to hit your tee shots (and which club to use) when you start the blind tee-shot holes on the back nine. A couple of the holes are borderline unfair, but if you get through them OK, you will have an excellent time playing a fun canyon layout.

Played on Friday 11/24/06 for $65. What a great deal for a great course. Challenging and fun. The course definetley makes you think. The course has some great views and great variety of holes. Some blind tee shots and some tee shots that require something other than a driver, but that is what makes it a challenging and fun course. The pace of play was great. The rough is not long, but it is thick and sticky. If I had to say one thing that I think the course could do better is it put better or more yardage markers on the fairway. no GPS on this course. Well worth the hour fifteen minute drive north of Vegas. The staff and locals at the course are great! I think I might have a new favorite course.

Good value. Windy when I was there. Made scoring difficult. Would play again.

Played 3/26/2006 on a warm sunny afternoon with light breezes. Course is fairly new and there’s lots of home construction going on, so many areas are torn up or under development, giving a ragged feel. Severe erosion problems on the steep-cut sandstone slopes – if they get a heavy rain, head for high ground! Course is generally shoehorned into too small an area, playing between houses and through arroyos, resulting in some spectacular sightlines but jarring playing angles. Many hitting lanes are very narrow with a lot of OB and hazard markings. Many problems: Rock hard greens that wouldn’t hold a wedge shot. Par 3s are numbered 2, 5, 8, 14, 17 – you guessed it, all are in the same place in the hole location rotation (front, middle, back), so ALL 5 were in the front of the green – total lack of imagination by the course. Front side is more open and shorter – back side is basically goofy golf. Blind shots followed by 90 degree turns – a couple holes where you needed a fairway spotter to let you know it was clear (rather labor intensive, eh?). One par 5 where you need to hit an iron off the tee - unless you can fly it 300 yards! The 10th hole has a stream running down the middle – nowhere to hit your drive. Horrible pace - >5 hour round. On the plus side – friendly staff, VERY helpful ranger on the back nine (thanks, Bob), and cart girl came by frequently. Other better choices in Mesquite and Vegas (where we drove from). Not recommended.

Played 1/11,early.frost delay. shotgun start, what a fun day, staff was upbeat under trying times, course was as usual in terrific shape. Greens are very fast and roll nicely,a bit hard due to cold, but not a distraction. Will return in a few months. Always play Falcon when in Mesquite.

Played 11/21, 70 degrees and a beautiful day. Service is great, golf course is in excellent condition and a fun track.Great views from many of the tees, a terrific start to a three dayer at Mesquite. If the weather is OK ya gotta play here. Eureka Hotel has good golf dels and the rooms are fine. We will return soon.

Falcon Ridge Golf Course in Mesquite is the newest offering for those fortunate enough to have discovered golf in the Mesquite, St. George area. Designed by the same mind as gave us "Wolf Creek", Falcon Ridge is destined to become another one of the top shelf, premier courses in Nevada. It will likely take another year or so for the course to mature up to it's full potential but there is no reason to wait to play. The prices are still very affordable and the course will leave you breathless in places. The back nine I find much tougher than the front but both sides are great. Ask Big John Daly what "He" thinks of the course, he is holding a tournament there this year.

Great course to play, but summer has taken its toll on the fairways and tee boxes. They've kept the greens in decent shape though. The service is great, and the price was right. I'd go there again.

Played it in May 2005. I did not like the course; however I played horrible that day, so please take my criticism with that in mind. The course conditions were fine, especially for such a new course. Good decent greens & fairways. My problem was the number of blind shots. Longer hitters especially can be severely hurt hitting too long on what should have been a mid-iron Vs. Driver type of thing. There are courses that need yardage books, this is one. Unfortunately the course was too new and did not have them available yet. Severe elevation changes on many holes. Staff was courteous. Only warm-up nets were available at the time we played.

Believe this is the newest course in Mesquite. Very challenging course with so many elevation changes & blind shots. Need to play this course a few times to play well here. Real beautiful & scenic.
