I haven't done a review of Ridge Creek in several weeks as conditions have remained identical of the last month and half. I play RC weekly and conditions remain steady. They have been doing some work on the bunkers which were in much need of quality sand. About 1/3 to half of the bunkers have had a total makeover and now have high quality sand. The greens are starting to show there age and are in need of aeration. Most greens have a ton of pitch marks on them. Ridge Creek usually does there greens in June so it's just around the corner.

Probably the biggest difference we noticed during yesterday's round was how green the fairways were. The surface has always been a joy to hit from but it seems night and day from last week to yesterday in how much they turned from 50/50 brown/green to a nice emerald green.

We tee'd off around noon so POP wasn't an issue. Always great customer service at Ridge Creek.

Played 4-24-22 in a tournament, shotgun start at 8am and finished in a little under 5 1/2 hours waiting on ever hole after the first 4. Black tees were in good shape with good coverage, but did have to search a little for a level stance, because of some small depressions here and there. Fairways were in good shape, starting to look a little more green, still lots of roll out and nice lies. Bermuda fairways will continue to get greener as the weather warms up. Primary rough is not that much longer than fairways, but outside that you are in the thick and heavy and probably a lost ball. Was in one greenside bunker that had a thin layer of brown sand, but still very playable. Greens were in real good shape, a little soft, rolling mostly smooth at medium pace with an occasional bump mostly from poorly repaired pitch marks. Overall course in good shape that should only get better as it gets warmer.

Was out at Ridge Creek this morning with JusGas88. We had a 10am tee time and got out about 10-15 minutes early. Fairways are starting to green up nicely. Even in the winter when they were dormant the fairways were a pleasure to hit from. Nothing has changed in that area, they are just a bit more pleasant to look at now as they start to turn green.

Speaking of greens. I know Ridge Creek doesn’t do a spring aeration and instead opts for a summer sanding when the fairways are pristine. No argument with their logic but the greens are starting to get beat up a little with pitch marks. Aside from that the greens rolled at a nice medium-fast+ pace.

Bunkers were in great shape. I was only in one and it had ample sand. Justin was in a handful and all were in decent shape. In the past few months, some of the sand traps were marked GUR. Those appear to have all been fixed now.

Tee boxes were beat up, especially on the Par 3’s. Tee boxes are level, but some are heavily riddled with divots.

I always enjoy Ridge Creek and today was no exception. Having 4 birdies helps! My biggest complaint is the course allowing 5 somes and 6 somes out. This is the second time in the last 3 outings it’s occurred. Today the group of six (who I believe started on hole 10) let the two of us through but held up the threesome behind us who were also part of our group. As a result we skipped lunch there at the course being that the others finished 45 minutes after us.

Time for my mo th,y review of Ridge creek. Unlike in December when every time I played it was dense fog, the last couple outings have been in bright sunshine. I tee'd off on Tuesday at 7:40 on a brisk but clear morning. Even though the temps were sub 40 degrees it felt pleasant and by the 4th hole I had taken my vest off.

Greens still remain excellent, rolling smooth at a medium fast pace. Greens hold approach shots very well. Fairways are completely dormant but still present a great hitting surface and with no rain in the last month, they are rolling out nicely.

I noticed last week that tee markers were moved around to close off various tee boxes. Yesterday it was even more evident that they are closing off about half off the tee boxes to let them recover and heal.

I was in about 4 bunkers and all were thin but playable.

Played 1-26-22 late morning with Alex326 walking as a twosome, and finishing in around four hours, waiting on most shots. Tees, fairways and rough are all dormant right now, but still playing very well. Tees are mostly level, fairways are playing thin but still have nice padding and good roll out, rough is cut low and in good shape. Was in two greenside bunkers that both had a good layer of nice brown sand, haven't seen the bunkers in this nice of shape in a long time. Greens are in really good shape, playing soft and smooth and rolling at medium/fast pace. Great costumer service, and great food in the restaurant. Always enjoy the trip up here.

Played on Friday 1/14 and it was very foggy and didn't let up until the back 9. The front was a challenge without being able to see your ball, but the course seemed to be a great track. The greens were tough but fair and rolling at a 7. Fairways dormant but played great and everything you would want from fairway grass. Bunker placements make every shot a challenge but would love to come back and check it out without the fog! Due to the fog, we stopped at the turn and sat down for lunch hoping to kill time. The food at the grill was fantastic and the fish tacos were huge and could feed three by itself. The burger was great too, with good sweet potato fries. Staff was great.

Yesterday was another good outing at Ridge Creek. I met up with Alex326 for a "rematch" against some old coworkers. The course always surprises me in the spring its so perfect and green with great fairways and nearly perfect greens and right now in the winter time even though the green color isn't there on the fairways the performance/shape is still there. The greens still nearly perfect with a med/fast pace and rolling smooth which was surprising because it had rained the day prior. Most of the sand traps had water in them and were ground under repair. Overall this course is amazing year around and makes you really hit your shots because the rough will eat up your golf balls.

This review is just as much of a shout out to the awesome customer service as it is about the course conditions. JusGas88 and I had our monthly match play scheduled today (Friday) against some friends. We were scheduled to tee off just before noon…. Except that I apparently had made the reservations for yesterday! Pro Shop didn’t miss a beat and got us dialed in and out on the course squeezing us in between a couple of groups. Plus they honored the two pre-paid times from the previous day!! That’s CUSTOMER SERVICE! With all the rain, the course was a little wet but not bad at all. In fact the first two fairways were really the only two that I noticed were damp. The rest were fine. Fairways have gone pretty much completely dormant. Just a little tint of green left. Still great hitting surface from the fairway. Rough is cut down very manageable. In fact three times I was in “no mans” land and managed to locate and hit my ball. Which was nice not losing my Josh Allen OnCore ball. Greens are always receptive to approach shots and obviously with the rain it was like throwing darts today (hence the 3 birdies). Tee boxes are showing some signs of needing attention. A couple were tore up pretty bad. Traps had some standing water in them which is to be expected after the heavy rains this week. Given the recent weather, the course was still in very playable condition. Add in the excellent customer service and it’s a must play.

I played Ridge Creek Friday morning 12/10 with an 8:30 AM tee time. It rained pretty hard the day before but I'm pleased to say the fairways drained excellently. No puddles or wet spots to be found anywhere. Greens have enough undulations to also keep them dry. Greens are normally soft and receptive to approach shots so after the rain was no exception.

Tee boxes have some maintenance going on with a number of them recently being overseeded. Sand traps were the only parts of the course that showed signs of the previous day's rain. Some of the traps still had standing water in them and others had heavy wet sand/dirt.

Between the cold mornings and fog, morning tee times are condensed with everyone waiting until around 8:30 +\- to start. I was the third group out and whereas we waited on most shots, POP was at about 3:15, so not bad.
