Played with the GK Plays groups late Sunday morning on a mostly perfect golf day, a little windy and chilly during the later holes, but just still a great day to hit the links.

I haven't played MtW in several years only due to the drive from OC.

Fun course, good staff and overall pleasant environment to get your "target shooting" going.

This is a short course playing only around 5800 yards from the blue, but the course has teeth.

no spraying the ball around here!

I personally found the greens challenging to read all day, overall they were in good shape, though I saw quite a few putts bouncing a bit more than expected in route to the hole.

course conditions tee to green were overall very nice.

I absolutely recommend you play here if you are nearby, and if you are making a trek to play here, I would say it is worth the drive.

Played early Saturday afternoon on a $10 GN deal. First time playing this course and had LOW expectations after reading all the recent reviews.

* Some of the more recent reviews were a bit misleading as far as conditions were concerned - in my humble opinion.
* you KNOW you are hitting off mats, unless you are not paying attention.

Driving range - very nice considering you hit off mats. reminded me of the Industry Hills setup.

Easy course to walk in about 3 hours.

Greens - 90% of them were excellent, rolled well and looked sharp. There were a couple of greens that had small sections that looked bad.

Fairways on the par 4s were nothing to get excited about, but you could just move the ball to the closest clump of grass and move on.

we rather enjoyed ourselves out there and for the price, it was more than acceptable.

the worst part really is just dealing with the SNA noise.

played with GKers on this our 2nd round of the day Tuesday at around 1:30pm. First time playing this course for our group.

Course conditions were decent for the Palm Springs Area (which means conditions were very nice compared to comparable priced OC Courses).

front 9 was fairly mundane with wide open fairways and well suited for seniors and soaking wet golfers playing their 2nd round.

back 9 had a bit more interest and teeth.

since the course was well soaked from the rain and continued to rain on us during the round, I can not really comment on the detailed conditions.

I enjoyed the round and for $21 online rate I found that to be a great value.

Carts - basic, no GPS

Played out here with fellow GKers on a rainy Tuesday morning. This course does like the GK folks and seems to always hook them up with deals.

Course conditions were pretty darn good. Obviously the rain had an effect during the round.

Still one of my favorite tracks out in the desert.

GPS on cart - very helpful
Cooler stocked with water is a nice touch

Highly recommend you get to Indio and play this track.

Played with the GK Cup group today (in which we crowned a new Champion), Congrats Keith!!!!

anyway, the course was in pretty decent condition, fairways where mostly lush and sometimes thin.

Greens were somewhat bumpy I thought, speed was medium.

Greenside bunkers - kind of thin I thought, not a ton of sand to splash out.

rough was challenging enough today, some areas that were "Patchy" were more than challenging.

all in all it is still one of my favorite OC tracks and at the rate we paid it was MORE than worth it.

Played Labor day morning with wife and GKers rstang06 and dcricket. First time on this course.

Clubhouse - really sprawling and poorly labeled, I guess members know where they are going, but first timers are left to guess.

fun and interesting course with water sneaking around on several holes...

Course was in typical Palm Desert condition - really green and fun to play.

#18 might be one of the tougher finishing holes I have ever played - a 427yd par 4 with water in play.

Nice carts with coolers, no gps, but plenty of water stations and restrooms.

This is one of those courses you need to play a few times to understand better where to hit and where to avoid.

we had a blast out there today and would recommend this course.

played Sunday morning with GKers rstang06 and dcricket, course was in as good of shape as my last review.

Rough was uncut and pretty penal.

seems like sand was recently added in bunkers, pretty fluffy.

Greens were VERY receptive to shots.

Course is starting to grow on me and for $42 with cart, it is a pretty reasonable round of golf.

bad for the handicap as the 119 slow from the whites is VERY low for this course.

Played Saturday at 10:23 for $45 using their course tee time booking. Haven't played this course since the 2014. Long course...sort of.

Check in easy and guys are nice and polite, range was grass and reasonable to get warmed up on.

POP was about 4.5 hours. a little slow but that seems common with EVERY dude playing the 7000+ blues.....what is up with the typical guy golfer? cracks me up. Probably the same guys that complain about POP.

Fairways - decent, quite a bit of thin lies and browned out drought created issues you see almost everywhere in SoCal.

bunkers - REALLY above average. Plenty of sand.

Rough - spotty at best.....inconsistent and patchy every hole

Greens - really nice....not too many ball marks to fix....rolled medium speed I suppose.

I had a nice time and would recommend the course for sure. Didn't suite up well for Tobi, just too long for her, so probably a 1 and done for Tobster on the South track.

Played the Canyon Crest/Creekside combo today with Gker "Rstang06" on a just gorgeous day. First time playing here.

drive from South OC is brutal...nuff said

* staff was friendly and check in super easy.
* facilities are very nice, good first impression
* driving range was disappointing with mats when there was plenty of grass there to use, but good chipping area and large practice green.
* Fairways - mostly lush, thin in patches here and there, but I was pretty impressed.
* Rough - tricky....seemed like a variety of grasses making up the rough and nothing overly penalizing but still got your attention.
* Greens - rolled pretty good 2-3 weeks after punching. good speed...maybe a 10
* Bunkers - seems fluffy mostly...I was only the greenside bunker on Creekside #18 and it was a bit thin.

* Extras - GPS, integrated ball/club washer, cooler on Cart. Cart girl came around several times.

overall I really liked the course and if you are in the area I would highly recommend it. I might have to say that was the nicest public course in southern California (Excluding Palm Springs area) I have played...yep, better than Maderas.

2 thumps up from this guy!!!! saw the GK plaque in pro shop for "Best Course - 2008" I think.

Played here this morning at 9am with the GK Guru group.

Wife and I showed up around 7:30am just to get the whole experience and enjoy the highly suggested breakfast burritos.

* check in and staff - first class, best I have experienced.
* Breakfast Burrito - awesome!!!!

WOW factor really hits as soon as you drive up and walk through the doors. Amazing facility.

The overall experience really ranks up there in my book...I could see giving it the #1 position in my overall experience as far as places I have played at.

the course details are next...

* water features out on the back 9 due to water pumps being taken out by lightening...somewhat took a little out of the course enjoyment.

* hole layout - somewhat underwhelming to be honest...nothing really stood out...a couple of the par 3s are pretty cool.

* course conditions - solid.....greens were awesome...fast and true. might have been some of the best greens I have putted on. Fairways were good, rough was good....bunkers were easy to hit out of.

I liked the course very much, glad we had a good caddie (Dean was his name, I would suggest him if you like your caddie to just take care of you around the green)

It was a thrill to play here and so grateful for the opportunity through GK to do this.

Keith and Kevin joined Tobi and I for the round and you all know how much fun those guys are to spend the day with.

Played at 9:00am Wednesday morning with the GK Guru group. Tobi and I played with Vince & Alex on a super warm day. Staff was great and thrilled to have us at their facility.

* Range - adequate for getting warmed up. they use mats...
* Fairways - solid, good coverage...decent lies all day
* Bunkers - fairly poor Greenside bunkers, very crusty and at times challenging to hit good shots from.
* Greens - super slow....in fact...too slow, other than speed, it was okay, just took getting used to.

All in all it was a very solid course and enjoyable to play...especially with fun GK guys.

Really nice 19th hole.....good food and drinks...pretty sure John liked my sliders!

Got invited by GKer "Rstang06" aka Fast Willie to play in the Saturday club 08/06. First time playing this course, but had received a lot of info to prep me up a bit.

As a more previous review stated, there are a few temp. tee boxes as they are prepping the back tees for the upcoming City Championship. No big deal...all good.

Fairways were decent for sure....good grass, though a little wet in many spots.

Rough....the first cut was fine, getting long and ready to test the cities best.

Outside the Rough....good grief, these guys like using "DG" aka "decomposed granite" and I will say that is somewhat challenging to hit on the mark shots from.....I didn't want to be in it...I knew not to be in it....and managed to set the tone early by hitting into it on the opening tee shot.

Greens - very nice...smooth, medium speed...played with guys that knew the odd breaks so I got good input to help me out.

I suspect this course would have some polarizing reviews....I kinda liked it.....and look forward to trying it again down the road.

nice staff, decent range, basic carts (no gps, cooler)
