Played Fri 5/30 10:30am, first time here... Greens were recently sanded and still healing from punching a while ago. They ran mostly true, but inconsistent speeds with the sand throughout the course. Probably a 10. Course winds through the valley, has various hazards to negotiate... some holes required a drive up to see what's going on. Definitely need a bit of course knowledge to navigate this course. I do like the river better of the 2 alisal courses... but it was nice to get out and play this... warm day. 4:45 round. Had a good time.

Played Thurs 5/22, 9am shotgun. Nice sunny day, 1 club wind. This is a course where most of the front 9 is at the foothills and valley, and the back 9 traverses through the mountain. The lower lying holes looked more like they were just open for the season.. the higher elevated holes were in much better shape. Greens occassionally bumpy, about a 10 on the stimp. #4 is a par 5 that is playing as a par 3 due to flooding issues... I don't know if that's all summer long or not. I've heard both. This is a fun course with fun shots... have to be accurate off the tee. I liked this one better than the lakes.

Played wed 5/21, 9am shotgun. first time out here. Sunny day, brisk and windy. 1-2 club wind throughout the round. course in decent muni shape.. it looks like it's the beginning of the season, but very playable. Greens a slow 10, in good shape... occassionally bumpy. course has some interesting routing and fun holes. Mostly level, but has some holes that play a club up or down hill. A few spots needed course knowledge, and we did a bit of driving up to the fairway to see what's going on. It's a fun course that I would be glad to play regularly if I lived local. Restaurant is good as well.

played 9 holes Sat may 17, 3:30 tee time; nice pleasant day. course in decent muni shape. Greens running about a fast 9, a little bumpy. not super easy... some long holes. good for a fix or for beginners. Had a good time.

Played in ncga 2man best ball championship (4ball) May 19-20, played 3 times sun to tue. Had a great time.. course is in great shape tee to green. weather was great, sun night teed off at 4:30 and it got windy and cold by 7pm. Monday teed off at 9, 1-2 club wind and beautiful day. Tues we teed off at 7:30 and it was foggy for an hour or so. Greens have always killed me here, but after playing 3 days in a row, and having learned how to play grain since my last visit here, I felt pretty good on the greens by the end of the trip. always love playing here.

played sun 5/4, 8:30 tee time. 4:45 round. sunny and windy.. 2-3 club wind all round. First time out here, not much around. course in good muni shape. Greens are decent, slow... probably at 9. Layout is ok... Long par 3s. A few holes I wasn't a fan of. A few holes I needed course knowledge. bunkers have a coarse pebbly sand... but consistent. No beverage cart and not much of a clubhouse. They do have a bar and kitchen, and I was a fan of the bloody mary and the chicken tacos. Decent course, good time.

Played wed 4/23, 8am tee time, 5 hr round, mostly cuz it was the ncga qualifier 2 man best ball, and we were putting everything out. Course condition is the same as 2 weeks ago... fairways spotty with dandelions, lots of unmarked gur,, rough decent and mowed, bunkers decent. Greens are the best feature.. roll true and quick, grainy: 11 down grain, 9 up grain. but lots of ball marks, so bumpy if you don't smooth them out. Looks like they are punching next week. Cold and windy, 1-3 club wind. Warmed up a little by noon, but didn't take the beanie off. A decent fun round with a lot of good shot quality shots, but in mediocre at best shape. Very walkable. Need course knowledge on a lot of holes. I hear the weekday rate walking is much more reasonable than the sunday rate I paid last time, and for under $50, I would play here a lot.

Played here Sun April 6, 10:30 tee time. 5:30 round. Finally made it out here as it's been on my list forever. My opinion on this is an interesting exercise. It's a beautiful scenic course.. the way it runs through the canyons and the POV of seeing other holes as patches of green littered through the brown mountains.. it's cool. It's in pretty good shape. Greens are moderately fast... like fast 11. the holes in it of itself are interesting holes... the knock on this course is it's gimmicky. And I'd agree with that. the holes are interesting, but too many circus type shots. I say it's a fun course to play, but it's not a great course. It was a sunny warm day with a 1-2 club wind all day. Course knowledge important. Very hilly, seems like most of the tee shots were 50-100 ft downhill. which again, is fun, but makes for a gimmicky course. They don't put rakes in the bunkers and they tell you to lift clean place your ball in the bunkers. And when the preround spiel is how slow the round is going to be... well... he wasn't wrong. I appreciate the heads up though. I wouldn't mind playing this a few times.. but not for the rack rate. Driving range is irons only. I don't think there was a drink cart going around... so hilly. Had fun.

Played Sat April 5, 8am shotgun. Sunny, but cold and WINDY. This is in the city of Hurricane, and it felt like a hurricane. 30-40 mph winds all day, and it felt like most of the holes were into the wind. Beanie and jacket all round. A fun layout with great views. It winds at the bottom of a canyon, with homes/condos bordering the course.... before it climbs the walls on #12 and you play the next 7 holes up, on top of, and back down. Most of the holes you have to stay in play, with water and hazards littering the course. Greens running about a 11, grainy. You come back to the clubhouse after 11 for food and drinks. Small kitchen, plenty of booze. Cart girl comes around a few times. 5 hr round, had a blast. Worth a play.

Played Fri april 4, and stayed here at the resort for 2 nights. 5:15 round. Sunny, windy day. Teed off at 10:30, a little chilly to start, but warmed up and was short sleeves most of the round. Wind blowing at 30-40 mph.. .so definitely a 2-3 club wind. Greens firm and fast, running a solid 12.. I'd say 11 into the grain, a fast 13 down grain... downwind downgrain, forget: good luck. Course in amazing shape, as they are prepping for the LPGA event in a month. The PGA just signed a 10 yr contract as they were here in Oct. A wonderful, fun track that runs through a bed of lava rock... which is big Big Island vibes... who knew there was a volcano in Utah? A forecaddy is required, and let me tell you.. it's required to play... as there were multiple blind shots and he was very helpful with knowing where to miss. It's a rolling course, water on a few holes, lava rock everywhere... big greens. One pin placement was unplayable, as literally everyone in our group of 40 putted off the green. A pin on the top of a false front, so practically every putt was downhill downgrain downwind. but other than that, tough and fair. I would love to play this multiple times. The pro shop check in is on the opposite side of the resort as the first tee and driving range, which is weird... there is a ton of construction going on, which doesn't affect play, but a little effect on aesthetics. Food and nonalcoholic drinks are free before and during your round. There is a bar/kitchen at the driving range, so give yourself time to check in, drive over to the other side of the resort, and eat for free, in addition to warming up. They have a turnstand that serves tacos (birria, al pastor, fish, asada, tasty in that order) that you'll hit twice. They don't sell alcohol on the front 9 (2 different cities, 2 different alcohol rules). But the cart girl is totally free except for alcohol. They have a 19th hole, a 70 yd par 3 over water into a alcove green... totally cool. My guess is they jack up rack rates and resort rates once they are out of 'preview' period. the entire area is getting the Aspen treatment, so I expect the cost of everything to skyrocket in 10 years. Had a blast.

Played Sat 3/29, 12pm tee time; 5 1/2 hr round. cool and windy day, wind started mild 1 club wind, but increased up to a 3 club wind as day went on. Lots of waiting in this slow round. Never been here, and came in preparation for an ncga 2 man event. Course in poor muni shape. Fairways unkept, with dandelions littering the fairway, lots of unfilled divots, and bare spots. Greens are the best maintained feature, firm and fast, grainy, running a fast 11 downgrain, slow 10 upgrain. Tee boxes thin and uneven. Rough thick and patchy. Sand sandy. A fun layout, links style, mounds, hazards, big greens. right by the oakland airport, and apparentlly under the runway approach, and small jets are non stop landing. Fun, but not well kept, and slow on this sat afternoon. For the $100 rack rate, I'd rather go to Corica Park on the other side of the airport. If they took better care of it, I'd give it a recommend.

Played old mac, wed 3/26,. 8:30 tee time...Another awesome trip to Bandon Dunes. Today was sunny , but super windy. I was in short sleeves and a beanie. It was a 3-4 club wind, which at times affected balance. Flighted shots were needed. And a good caddy to help you negotiate the wind. Definitely got lucky on this trip as it rained hard before arrival and will rain hard after our trip. course in great shape. Greens were great, running a solid 10ish. I love Old Mac, and find it challenging and interesting. I wish I could rank it higher on my list. The whole resort is in great shape, so my current ranking hasn't changed in terms of hole quality and fun: BD, BT, SR, OM, PD.
