Greens are recovering from being punched. They are slower than they look, so put a good stroke on it. Its a d%mn shame people can't fix their divots. I played course 2 yesterday, and one of the guys was surprised to see me fix another divot besides mine. I try to on every hole. I guess he felt guilty and started to do the same.

Course was in good shape today. Greens were punched so it was hard to get a true roll. I got 18 in less than 4 hours (I had to jump around for the last 5 holes).

Course is in good shape. Tee boxes were a little chewed up but other than that everything is in good shape. I do agree with some of the members that Brookside is little over price. I can't imagine paying $52.00 (including cart) when you can play at twilight or super now that it gets darker later. Super twilight is a good deal. You might not get 18 holes, but 15-16 holes is good enough for me!

Played in a Tourney (5/16). Course was in good condition. I was surprised to find a few soggy spots on the course (couldn't be from the rain). Greens looked great...not alot of pitch marks....the greens were not a fast as they looked. I had a great time with the bros!

Played today and the course was in good shape. However, I couldn't believe my eyes on the first hole. Two guys in my foursome hit shots into the green and left divots. We all putted out and they walked off like nothing happened (and of course I fixed them). I'm surprised that people can't spend 10 seconds to fix them. Then on #8, it looked like a crime scene in one of the bunkers. Its a shame people can't take the time to fix these things...if they did, the course would be in better shape.

I agree with you Harryo on a couple of things. Course 1 (and 2) are in great shape. I played on Friday with a bro and we had a blast.

I played behind a 4 some who insisted they play from the golds about a week ago. It was painful. Not because they took forever (5/6 shots to reach the green), but why would you punish yourself like that? Maybe they were new to the game? I don't know.....but maybe next you could be so kind and let a faster group play through. Nobody wants to be log jammed and watch you make a million swings. I hope I don't sound bitter....ha!

Played today and the course looked and played great. Fairways, teeboxes, greens, and rough looked great. Now that its getting darker later, I'm hoping to get out more and play.

I'd have to agree CSPAN. The teeboxes, fairways, and greens are in good shape. I was really impressed with the greens considering the amount of play this course gets. Either people are fixing their ball marks or the super is doing his job. Maybe its a combination of both. Sorry Sly...I'll have to pass on that....and I don't swing that way. But hey knock yourself out...maybe you could do a 2 for 1. The cutie I was talking about is a woman. She is a brunette with some very nice curves.

What a difference a week makes. Course look like it was in better condition. Did the Course Super come back? Greens, fairways, bunkers, and rough looked better. Me and 3 bros had a great time today. Can't beat the super twilight deal. Who is the cutie with the nice bootie who works in the mgmt office?

Wow....what happened? Did MGMT go on vacation and forget about the course. I was surprised to see how beat up the course was. I understand some courses like to let the rough go brown during the winter, but the fairways too? Plus a ton of thin spots in the fairways. The bunkers had rocks and cigar/cig butts. I only played 15 holes, but I counted around 50 beer bottle caps Please someone tell the course super to come back and bring Brookside back to life.

At first glance, I was not impressed with Rio Hondo. A friend of mine brought his 7 year old son (just to watch-not play-couldn't find a sitter). The starter charged my friend full price (2 greens + cart fee = $98.00), which I thougth was ridiculous. We both asked if there is junior or spectator rate, in which the smug starter said no. Considering the fact the location of Rio Hondo, they might considering starting a junior program or at least offer a reduce rate. Golf would be an excellent alternative for juniors in the area (i.e., staying of the streets, gangs, etc.). After we paid our green fees, we went to the first tee and was disappointed in how "brown" the course was. Do they water the course? I mean the pro shop and club house is beautiful and all, but maybe spend some of that money on some water. Ok, Ok, enough about the negatives. After playing a few holes, we were really impressed with the greens. Hardly saw any divots out there. In addition, we were impressed with the layout of the course The waterfalls were a nice touch. I bet when the course is green its a really nice looking course. Some of the holes were really challenging, especially the par 3s. I walked the course and found it to be an easy course to walk considering some of the hills. And finally, after playing the 2nd hole, my buddy went back to the starter to discuss the full price for his son. I guess the manager was there and overheard the conversation and refunded the green fees for my buddy's son and comp him a cart. Now that is customer service.
