Been a long time since playing the Valley and it will be even longer. YIKES. Totally a shame to see a "once a great track" decline to the level of the present conditions. Personnel behind the counter - oh man..... F&B employees still nice and fun.

As a past golf course operator I am very picky, so forgive me. Congrats to Los Serranos on two major changes. #1 A new superintendent and dividends are already seen, course has improved drastically - greens are awesome, fairways getting defined and lush, bunkers are being refurbished, can't say enough for the improvement. #2 The Kramer family taking back over their own golf course with Ron Kramer leading the way as General Manager and Andrew Kramer now working in the pro-shop, nice to be welcomed finally by staff that appreciate my business. Food and beverage personnel is incredible as well as the food, it was a great day. On top of that, I played with our fearless leader Johnny Hakim, Founder of Greenskeeper.org and got to see my close freind David Kramer.

As a past golf course owner / operator / golf snob, I actually joined Riverview Men's Club and participate in their monthly tournaments. It is an amazing operation. Most likely the best greens in America for the price to play, golf carts with GPS, a very interesting layout, regular friendly people who work there, a caring owner and very fun men's club. The course is a little rough at times - some fairways are completely lush, some a little thin, the course is tight in many areas and then again roomy. They do a heck of a business flow and speed of play can be anywhere from 3 hours to 4.5 hours. It is a mecca at times with beginners (which is awesome) because our game needs growth. When I tell friends that I play there, they laugh and then when I take them out they all appreciate the greens and the fun. Never let our pride be our guide, courses like a Riverview are little gems that built America's love of our game.

Pasa has been in my top 20 courses in the World for years, I have played 7 Alister Mac's courses and he is my favorite course designer. Located on top of the Santa Cruz mountains, the topography is so good, the layout is fantastic, every club must be used, it is a fair but tough test of golf. Just a historical classic that I love.
This is my first disappointment in the 30 years I have played there. My two European freinds (both national country amatuer champions) were introduced to Pasa yesterday, after 1 month's bragging of the course by me. We called to make sure the course was in good condition before paying $200 to play, the pro assured me that it was. The course conditions were pure as always except for the greens which were HORRIFIC. The putting green was perfect, but when we got onto the first green and saw plate size yellow fungus areas, we were in shock!!!. Even though it had rained over the weekend, the greens rolled at a 7 tops in speed. it was so disappointing and I felt embarrassment as the host. After completing our round, we asked the pro Matt politely, "what has happened to the greens" he said "why, you are the first group that asked this, is there something wrong" I simply dropped the conversation. He had not been out on his own golf course in 2 weeks. Had we known the greens condition, we would have simply postponed our round until the end of March. I am still shocked, because the GM at Pasa is a class A golf industry professional. If it had been me, my staff would have said, gentleman, our greens are not 100% Pasa quality at this time, therefore we are discounting your round 25%.

GKer's that know me - understand I am a golf snob, at least I am honest about it. I play Riverview for several reasons: it brings me back to my roots, I grew up on a public course with small fast greens and tight fairways, that type of course taught me every shot I needed to hit. It is a uniquely designed golf course, only 6100 yards and yesterday I had 7 birdies, hit every club in my bag and did not break par. I love places that are family owned and family operated. I love courses that make you feel like family no matter how long its been since you played there. Heck - I even joined their men's club yesterday. They play every Saturday at 7am, they have at least one event a month, a small buy in every Saturday with about 30 guys who love golf.
I used my Golf Card and received my $4 discount as well, you can buy it on this site for a $20 discount.

From the back tees this can be a beast of a test. So many fun, good golf holes. Make sure you say hello to Mark the boss, a great golf guy. Their sister course is Kissimmee Bay CC, right down the street.

Played here two years ago and loved it, played 36 last Friday and loved it even more. The course conditions are fantastic, layout is so good, scenery is awesome, but what they have done is made the course more player friendly. it does not beat you up. It rewards you for good shots and does not punish you for those shots we all have that are not so good. The staff is incredible, pro shop to die for, beverage cart girl - right there, great day...

Totally respect the efforts done here in the last two years. Very professional outside and inside staff. Front nine is fine, back nine is awesome with many fun and challenging golf holes. This was the old Lake San Marcos Country Club that is now St Mark Country Club. Fantastic golf value, greens are the best asset of the course (VERY GOOD)..

I recommend St. Mark CC.

Oh my gosh, stop the bus and get out to play Windswept Dunes. Designed and built by famous course builder Doug O'Rourke, who built 29 fantastic courses in Michigan, this may be his masterpiece. Natural setting that winds thru windswept sand dunes, pines, lakes and rolling hills. From the back tees, bring your lunch pale because this is a beast from 7752 yards. 5 sets of men's tees alone. The biggest greens I have ever seen that are so pure. Cost is only $52 during the week and $62 on weekends. It is a MUST PLAY

Oh my - now this is a championship unreal golf course. You can't find a blade of grass out of place, nor a thing to criticize. Absolutely incredible, the whole Horse Shoe Bay community is almost like a painting, along with their three other courses they have there.

WOW...............

It has been decades since I have played Costa Mesa. The staff was awesome, it was great to see the Head Golf Professional Mr. Booth, I was shocked to learn his brother Doug pasted away a few months ago, he was a awesome instructor and a great guy. I played with Johnny GK himself and we had a ball. Yes it is a little bit shorter than usual, but the course takes no back seat to longer course. It is a blast and for the amount of play this course receives it is in darn good shape. I highly recommend both Costa Mesa courses.

Just a perfect priced course that is so fun, such great shape - I mean great shape. Perfect location in Vegas, the new GM has his inside and outside personnel trained so well. Just a great experience.
