OMG. My threesome played Sunday Dec 13. We arrived at 9:45 for our 10:47 tee time. Immediately we were told by the pro shop that we were too early. (Really??) Next, we were told on checkin that there were no range balls. (Another really?? On a Sunday??) The marshal got our group out with a 10-minute delay. However, we teed off of the white tees and our cart went 25 feet and died. We never got into our rhythm and had a terrible shooting day. Finally, the restroom near hole 6 had a clogged toilet. This was my first time playing CCGC and will be my last.

We played on Saturday Dec 12 with the South/North rotation. We had a 11:47 tee time, but the course had their regular shotgun tournament start one hour late due to a frost delay. Jay, the starter, did a fantastic job getting our foursome out close to our original tee time, and as a result, we were able to complete both courses before darkness fell.

The course conditions were excellent. A huge thumbs-up to their policy of included range balls and two great warmup areas.

Fairways were lush. Greens were flat and true. Rough was not too punitive. Our foursome had a very enjoyable day at RLP.

OMG! It's been almost four years since I last played this course. I quit playing there because of the clientele and POP. It has not changed. I could only play the front nine and it took three hours! I teed off at 10:20 and didn't putt out until 1:20. UNACCEPTABLE! LA County needs to do something about POP. It's not all about money!

Walked on at about 1pm on Tuesday as a single. I had the course to myself until hole 3 when I bumped into a very slow twosome who wouldn't let me play through. I finally got past them at hole 7 where I paired up with a threesome and had a great POP the rest of the round. The fairways and rough are due to be trimmed. The greens were fast and firm. Overall, the course is in good shape for this time of year.

Got out at 1pm as a walkup single. Caught behind a slow foursome which eventually sped up to keep a good pace. Fairways and greens are in great shape. The rough is being grown out, most likely for the upcoming Long Beach Open. A good day with a fun round.

I realize that Willowick is in an older section of Orange County, but my last two visits there have been disturbing. I played on Friday Feb 22. While on the 17th green, there was a gang gathering and police arrest on the adjoining park (I was waiting for the gunfire!). Next, last Saturday March 2nd, after we went back to the parking lot after finishing our round, a new Chevy Silverado truck just 3 spaces down from me, was vandalized and had both its side mirrors stolen.

I asked the manager whether they had any survellance cameras. He said they didn't, nor is there any police or security presence in the parking lot.

Bottom line, don't put any valuables within your car and park closer to the pro shop if possible.

Played late afternoon March 6th. I was a single behind a foursome who wouldn't let me play through. PLEASE PEOPLE, let faster players play through!!

The course was in great shape. Nice fairways, smooth greens, and great staff!

I played 9 holes in 3 hours today - Tuesday 1145 tee off; middle of the work week; no kids and school; no marshals to speed up play; fivesomes everywhere = NO EXCUSE FOR THIS AMOUNT OF TIME. The pro shop said the greens were aerated last week, but it sure didn't look like it. Hole 2 green was mostly bare spots! Overall, I'm tired of paying $26 for a ridiculously slow round. I'm taking my money elsewhere!

Played Black Gold for the first time on March 13th. I teed off at 1:19pm (first Monday after time change). Greens had just been punched and there was no mention by the pro shop as to the condition of the greens. Course is primarily a "target golf" experience meaning that you have to hit the fairways to stay out of ecologically protected areas or homes. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough were in excellent shape. Course is very scenic on the edge of Chino Hills State Park with some good elevation views of Orange County and Catalina in the distance.

Played on Wednesday, March 9th. Course in great shape. Greens fast and hard. Fairways look lush. Finished round in 4 hours - unheard of in normal conditions. This is a heavy time of year for high school golf teams, so I believe I played just ahead of the teams and was able to zip through without any problems.

Played on a Saturday expecting a crowded course. I was pleasantly surprised that the course had some fivesomes, but the Marshal kept the pace faster than I expected for a Saturday. Greens, fairways, rough, and bunkers were well-maintained. Price was reasonable for a prime-time Saturday day.

It was my first time playing Westridge. Found a discounted tee time and took advantage of it to play prime time Monday. Course is challenging and reminded me of the SCGA course in Murrieta and the Crossings at Carlsbad. There are environmental areas around many of the holes, so take plenty of balls. Some water hazards strategically placed, but not overly annoying. Lots of undulating fairways give a good slope challenge. The greens were fast and well-maintained. The weekend price seems way too expensive. However the daily weekday rate seems perfectly reasonable for this course.
