Our threesome set out on 12/8/12 @ 11:15. There are a couple of things you need to expect before playing here. 1) If you play from the tips be prepared for a long day. We played from the tips - and here's a warning - if you aren't very confident in your ability, don't play from back there. The course is long, tree-lined, beautiful and challenging. The facilities are awesome, driving range is great, greens are very fast and true. Lots of hills so you'll be hitting off side, down and uphill lies all day if you aren't straight. If you go into the rough with your tee shot and it's near some trees (which it probably will be) KEEP A SHARP EYE on it because the rough is thick, lots of leaves on the ground, it's easy to lose your ball. The other thing you need to know is the LONG par 3's to be prepared for. Break out the hybrid (or even the 3 wood) on the range and practice hitting spots because there are some big 3's on this course. In conclusion, PLAY HERE IF YOU CAN. It's awesome. I'm a 14 hdcp and I shot a 105. This course kicked me right in the face and then stole my lunch money but I like a challenge so maybe that's just me. Have fun! Don't say I didn't warn you..

Got to play the course through an SCGA outing. It was everything I thought it would be and more. From tee to green, course was in top shape. Greens were smooth and rolling fast. Fairways and tee boxes were great. For $85, it was well worth it. I would definitely play it again.

wow! I see why this is rated #1 or #2 course in So. Ca. , tee to green perfection. Why don't they get the LPGA or Seniors to play a tourney at Valencia ?

Once again, I have been treated to a late afternoon round at this private club. Looks like some work being done on the 10th tee, perhaps elevating and extending it. This course is consistently in great shape. Immaculate fairways, rough, and greens throughout. It can be brutal if you miss the fairways as the rough is thick and there are trees aplenty.

What a great golf course, traditional layout and conditions are perfect. The Champions Tour plays here and I can see why. If ever have an opportunity don't pass it up.

08/10/09, AT&T Volunteer Play Day stupid shotgun start with double tees, retirees, and generally old, feeble players made for a really slow day. I have played this course in 3 hours, but today it was 5 1/2 hours of hit and wait. Also compounded by the fact that for the volunteers, it is cart path only. They wouldn't do that to the members or guests. Just goes to show you: you may be able to play here, but you don't belong. Nice treatment of people who donated 4 days of their time last March. LOL. This is an immaculate course. Today I saw several bunkers with wet sand, and a couple of tee boxes that got divotized. Not bad, considering it was retiree hacker day today. If you get a chance to play here, do it.

I have been fortunate to have played here a couple of times recently as a guest and this course is in its usual fantastic condition. Pace of play is great--probably about 3 1/2 hours. I was told the greens were aerated last month, but you cannot tell. Soft, but lightning fast; however, a little bumpy at times. Fairways are always great here: lush with nice mower stripes for that pristine look. They were aerated recently, and all the plugs removed from the course. Sand quality is as good as it gets, but some traps needed a fluffer, er I mean, a good turn with the sand pro. They looked good, but some were a little crusty on top. Not bad, though. Tees also were in pristine shape. If you get a chance to play here, don't pass it up. I know a couple of the grounds crew (that's how I got on) and they just rock. Great job, VCC crew!
