Thanks to all who have posted about Lake Forest. I would like to clarify some information in the last post. The NightOwl rate at the course continues to be $8 per player after 8pm, not $12 as posted. We are also currently offering the $8 rate an hour early at 7pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as a Fall special. You can go to the movies for $8 or get some nice fresh air and a round of golf for the same price. At 7pm, you will definitely finish 9 holes, and we think this is a great deal. There aren't many places where you can tee it up at 7pm on a Friday night!

Most of our rates remain unchanged, and there are always great ways to save by booking online, being a member of our email list, or by joining the Southern California Golfers Club.

As far as the range is concerned, the course adds about 10,000 new range balls every month. If you ever have a problem with ball quality, feel free to bring the bad balls to the pro shop and we will gladly switch them out for better balls.

Update to Lake Forest Golf Course. They've recently raised their rates. Early bird is now $11 instead of $9. Doesn’t seem like a lot, but for a dinky quick 9-hole course that takes less than an hour and is mostly Par 3s, $11 before 7:30 a.m. is too high as well as $12 for the late owl special, especially when there is always a wait on every hole. For the same price I’d rather go to Casta Del Sol in Mission Viejo and for $12 after 5p.m., get a full 19 holes with decent Par 4s and better location.

There’s a few golf hoppers at Lake Forest that just come to play without paying since there’s no marshall in the morning. Played behind a guy that was alone and he had his dog with him running around and playing two balls even when we were right behind him.

The only additional note is that the driving range has replaced a majority of their practice balls with new Nike practice balls. This is a long time in coming since the old practice balls looked liked that were not replaced in two years. The second level hitting area also has been closed to players who drive longer than 275 yards (irons on top deck only for those people) since I guess some balls have been going into the busy street or homes across the way.

This is a fun little course for beginners and/or to work on your short game. Course conditions are fair to good depending on the holes. A lot of young children were playing on Sunday, May 24th, and caused quite a back-up on every hole. After a few holes, my group just decided to enjoy the weather and to just accept the outing as a walk in a park. Good thing we had that attitude, because the round took over three hours to play a short nine-holes course.

Just played this course today. Usually senior players during the week due to it's close proximity to Leisure World aka Laguna Woods. Pretty cheap to play, $14 regular and $9 for early bird. I usually play early weekends and sometimes it does get backed up on the tee, usually play the 9 holes in about under an hour and a half. Super short course with the Par 3s as low as 85 yards, and the two Par 4s at around 208-214 yards. Just bring a putter, pitching wedge and your strong driver/3 wood for the par 4s.

This is a great course to walk on a nice day with 3 clubs in your hand and a couple of balls. Nothing difficult about it, it is and exec course, but it will help your short game and will not take anywhere near 4 or 5 hours. You can play on short notice for about the price of a large bucket

I always enjoy a trip around this little course. It is short, but if you aren't on your short game you will walk away scratching your head.

The greens are a tad slow usually but pretty well kept. The two par 4's will eat you alive if you get sloppy.

All in all, a bunch of fun.
