Enjoyed this round at Eagle Glen. Always more fun when you score well. Some nice holes, some others less memorable. Par 5s were generous, par 3s more tricky. Nice closing hole that is really a long par 4 from every tee except the tips.

Played today in a light drizzle to heavy drizzle, course is in good shape and after they reopen should be even better. Staff very friendly, especially the starter, tries hard to make sure you are happy. Glad to see that the new owners appear to be going in a positive direction. Looking forward to playing after overseeding is complete.

I used to play Eagle Glen all the time, but for whatever reason it had fallen out of our rotation. Decided to give it another shot today before they shut down for overseeding. First off, the started told me they were closing Sept. 24 to the 30th, not on the 17th as posted on the site. That said, course is in fairly decent condition. The fairways are brown, but they are cut tight and have lots of roll. Grass is fluffy, just brown. Greens were in very good shape. Some ball marks, but they were pretty quick and rolled true. Tee boxes a little beat up, but they aren't that big so there aren't a lot of areas where they can work from to let them recover. For 45 bucks with a cart, it's well worth the money. Only complaint...the "pager" system they use. You pay, they give you a buzzer, much like at a restaurant. When it's time for you to tee off, they buzz you. Well, ours never buzzed. Starter said he buzzed us three or four times, so he let a couple other groups out in front of us. It was obvious we were waiting in our carts by the practice green. All he had to do was walk fifty feet down the hill to see if we were a certain group. then again, i suppose we could have walked up to him, too. Still, it's a lame system. Kind of on par with APPLEBEES.

I played EG on 9/3 with the temp hitting 112 degrees! After calling around they had the green fee lowered to $35 so we braved the heat and hit the course at 2PM.

I played EG on 9/3 with the temp hitting 112 degrees! After calling around they had the green fee lowered to $35 so we braved the heat and hit the course at 2PM.

Eagle Glen is a great escape from City golf with a definite wilderness feel. As one would expect with the severe heat we pretty much had the course to ourselves.

One of the nicer holes is the 4th (?) with its elevated tee’s. This hole starts well above the fairway but inexplicitly requires you to lay up due to the ravine that breaks up the fairway. It would have made more sense to allow you to wind up and smash a drive into the air for some big yardage. Despite this it is a fun hole that keeps me coming back.

While in the fairway on 4, the heat was broken up by a quick thunderstorm that had us concerned about the lightening around us. After about 45 minutes of rain and passing lightening strikes we resumed play with a nice 15-20 degree drop in temperature.

For the most part the course is in great shape, although with the recent heat there were some dry spots and the bunkers were in really poor shape.

The beauty of the course lays in the layout and the way the front 9 winds into the hills leaving you with some dramatic elevation changes and great views.

The back nine swings back towards the clubhouse in more of a traditional layout leading up to a great finishing hole, a par 5 that requires a straight drive, a second over a picturesque lake that if your tee shot was long and true should get you on the green.

My biggest complaint with Eagle Glen is the lack of fairway mapping. Distance markers except for the 150 yd poles are very spotty and this course would play better with the assistance of course knowledge or an in cart GPS system like the nearby Trilogy and Hidden Valley courses.

The other complaint is that the beverage cart only made one appearance, at the second green. Good thing we bought a few bottles of water otherwise we would have been quite dehydrated by the end of our round.

The greens were in pretty good shape considering the heat and had quite a few ball marks which is more of an etiquette issue with fellow golfers than the course management, although if management gave complementary divot tools at check in like some upscale courses golfers would be more inclined to fix their damage.

All in all at $35.00 Eagle Glen is a great deal, at the “normal” rates of $50 or so for weekend twilight I like the nearby Trilogy, Hidden Valley and Goose Creek a bit more due to the amenities. If Eagle Glen would splurge on some basic upgrades the choice for inland golf would be that much tougher.

Well i am not sure if you have found the beauty of troon golf courses but this was the only one that was a black mark. When making the reservations the girl seemed lack the elegance that i have come to expect from there courses. when i asked who was managing the courses now i was told another group. Boy was that was apparent. For the same price as a year ago you no longer get range balls and now get worse customer service. Rip off to all of those who pay $90.00, luckly we only paid $45. We had tee times for 630 and arrived at 550am. the club house was dark and no one around except maintanance. At 6 am two guys entered the club house turned on the tv and sat behind the desk while 3 foursomes waited at the door. Finally around 610 we were ALLOWED in there paid and handed a paging device. We proceded to our carts and were made to wait to 635 for a starter so we could turn in the pager and head out. Thankfully we were first out , to bad for the other two groups that were held up and made to wait. They also were complaing about the customer service. I have to say the course is in the same condition which is pretty good. There were alot of bad spots along the rough but the fairways and greens were good. Sandtraps were still bad but after 4 years why change them!!! Hopefully with dos lagos opening the owners at the glen will get there heads out of were ever they are and come back to reality, this is not a 90 dollar course at these conditions, and the only bit of class in the club house has left with troon. Good course bad managment and overpriced!!!!!

Considering the price of this course and the 6.6 rating, I was expecting an overpriced course in modest condition. I was more than pleased with the course, both the layout and condition. The course conditions were excellent and the greens were in good shape, minus a few unrepaired ball marks. The tee boxes, fairways and rough were all in good condition; so was the only bunker I landed in. The front nine layout was great. No hole was alike. As far as customer service, we saw the cart girl about four times. This was probably more than my last three rounds combined. I played for their summer rate of $69, which is a great deal for this course. Their regular rates of $125 are a bit steep, but if you can get on at twilight or before their summer rates end, I highly recommend it. Pace of play was 4.5 hours. This course deserves a much higher rating than 6.6.

Played today 7/23, 8:35 tee time. Staff was courteous, but not as friendly as usual, desk or starter. Course was in OK shape. Tees fairly level not too many divots, fairways were green with some brown patches from cutting them too short, the greens were lush not too many ball marks but were rolling slow. Some of the back 9 fairways were punched, not mentioned when we started. PLayed in 4 hrs, two 2somes ahead of us and a 4some ahead of them were playing slow, could have been a bit quicker, had to wait on several tees to hit or wait for 2nd shots. Give it a 5 rating for this outing.

Played on 7/12 and the course was excellent. The fairways for the most part were nice and green with only a couple of brown areas, but nothing that would interfere with your game. The greens were smooth and pretty quick. The bunkers were inconsistent. Some of them had lots of nice fluffy sand and others were bare. Overall this course is great and plays great.
