Early morning four hour Sunday round. The course is so busy but the conditions continue to slide. The tee boxes were pretty dry and fair to thin with a few in need a trim. The rough has almost dried up and disappeared on most of the holes, which can be a bummer on shots near the water hazards. The fairways are all sloped towards the ponds and with the dry conditions and lack of rough many end up wet. Many tee shots had to be moved from their resting places due to the lack of turf! The traps are mostly packed dirt/sand and those that aren't are filled with water. There are a couple of holes that have sand in the traps but those that hit from them usually do not rake their mess. The greens were in good condition but somewhat slower than usual. Most would hold good shots and rolled pretty smooth. Getting hard to recommend with the current conditions.

Early Sunday morning round in slightly over four hours. Pro shop employee a light rude and confused at check in. No more senior rates offered and so busy they were out of carts when we finished the round. The tee boxes were mostly level with the exception of a couple holes. Most tee boxes were beat up and dry. The rough had receded quite a bit on most of the course but there is some left here and there. Where it exists it is pretty thin and dry. The fairways had fairly good coverage but there were several sections which were struggling to keep what turf there was alive. There were many unfilled divots on approach to just about every hole. The traps were all trimmed but the sand if any was concrete. The greens were slower than usual but did hold a line at times. Most greens were fairly bumpy and had ball marks in need of repair. The facility is almost always busy because there are not many courses nearby worth playing.

Hadn’t played here in a while but have always enjoyed the good value and balanced layout of both Menifee courses. So we were surprised at the poor condition of the course. I know it’s winter, but the fairways are extremely bare with scruffy clumps of dead rough. Tee boxes are ugly and chewed up. Bunkers are a crap shoot, sometimes with sand and other times just dirt and rocks. Greens are the highlight, nice smooth and fast. Customer service is excellent, with starters, check in staff and cart girls all being friendly and efficient.

Very cold early morning round in around 4:15. The staff is always the best and very busy. They had a couple tournaments today which luckily we were ahead of. The tee boxes were all in okay shape with the usual two on this side that are sloped and affect your shots! The rough has slowly disappeared for the most part with not much on any of the holes. The fairways were all frozen with very tight lies in places for the front nine. The roll out on shots in the fairways was extreme. Our group was hitting some very long drives even with the freezing weather. The traps are mostly trimmed well but in desperate need of sand! The greens on the first few holes still had ice on them and were firm and slick. As the morning warmed and the greens thawed and well struck shots held fairly well. There was not nearly as much break as usual and the greens were extremely quick. The Lakes side could be seen from the last couple of our holes and it WAS in sad looking condition with dry/painted fairways. The Palms 18 is the definite choice for this facility!

Early morning Monday round in a little over four hours. Staff is always great and working hard at what they do. The carts are better than average and the practice facilities are good. The tee boxes are all level with the exception of a couple that have always been sloped. The coverage on the tee boxes ranged from thin and shaggy to thin and trimmed. The rough is thick enough to stop bad shots but thin enough to find your balls in and hit from. The fairways all had pretty nice coverage with a tight lie here and there. Many fairways were very damp and soggy. The traps have improved with all being well groomed and about half with decent sand. There are still many traps with thin lies and pebbles or rocks! The greens have improved since my last round. The greens held shots well with very few ball marks to be seen. The speed of the greens were surprisingly quick considering the dampness of the course. Putts held lines well. Most of the pins placements were set in difficult locations for some reason? The course is well managed and the rates are very reasonable. Recommended still.

Mid morning five hour round on a busy course. The staff is always great and big thanks to the marshal we called to get the group in front of us moving. Some people do NOT belong on the golf course. The carts are starting to show their age with probably quite a bit of use and abuse. The tee boxes were all level but many needed to be be cut and watered. The rough was thick clover to thin dry grass. The clover made finding your ball nearly impossible. The fairways had adequate coverage on most holes but was very dry and thin in sections. You can get great roll out even when you don't want it - like right into the water. The fairways did have good grass in many places but were dry or soggy in others. The traps are improving with new sand seen in some traps and not nearly as wet as previous rounds here. The greens were in great shape with not too many ball marks holding well and rolling true. The golfers that abuse this course at times can make for frustrating rounds for those that appreciate an affordable maintained facility. Still recommended.

Played an early morning round in a little over four hours. The staff is great and the carts are pretty good. The tee boxes are level with the exception of the 16th which has only been bad and still is. The rough is about the right length to stop off line shots but many sections are now clover. The traps were in the usual wet, damp, muddy shape with only a couple of holes having sand in them. The fairways were in good condition but a few were a little soggy and damp. The greens were in good condition but are still very bumpy and not in their usual quick shape. The rates and quality of play still make a round here a very fair deal!

Early morning Sunday round in about four hours. The place was host to a juniors tournament and was very busy with players and parents. The staff is always great and carts are pretty good but have no gps. The tee boxes were thin, dry and pretty beat. The rough has pretty much disappeared in the last month? The semi thick rough is now dry and pretty much nonexistent. The fairways have thinned out also as they are letting the bermuda try to grow. We found a few thin dry patches here and there but not bad. The traps are the usual damp muddy messes for the most part. The greens were actually still showing the maintenance from a month ago? They did get better as the round progressed and smoother as well. Maybe they needed to be rolled?? We were expecting the nice smooth fast greens but were disappointed. I know that the ownership has been spending most of their budget recently on the Lakes 18. Just hope our next visit shows some improvement.
