Played Glen Annie on Wednesday, 2/20 with a 11:10am tee time. It hadn't rained here in about 5 days. But the effects of the rain were felt. The course was quite wet in numerous areas. It was a very windy day with cool temps. The fairways are aesthetically poor - very yellow and spotty. Although there are numerous areas that are very thin and hard, there are enough areas that have decent enough coverage to provide good lies in the fairway. The rough is hit or miss. Some areas are a little thick and some are more bare. Not too penal, for the most part.

Although the tee boxes had some areas that were sloped and hard pan, most teeing areas were fine. I was in one greenside bunker. There was plenty of sand. It was firm from the previous rains. Just fine to hit from. The greens were the best part of the course. They were running fast and smooth. It was a big penalty to be above the hole. At this time, given the current rack rate, I don't recommend this course. Once it greens up and fills in during the spring and summer, it should be very nice.

Took the hour and 20 minute drive to Goleta on a Group Golfer deal for $39. Rode the greens(blues) in 4 hours and 15 minutes. Tee boxes were level, a couple of thin tee boxes. Fairways were lush, there is no rough to speak off. The greens were fantastic, rolled true, not many ball marks, held shots. Customer service was great and the other golfers on the course were great. This was my first time playing and I will definitely be back.

Played yesterday, 1-28-19, with wsbell57 and colmcd, using a Groupgolfer deal of $39 each. It was Bill and Kathy’s first time playing here. I’ve played a few times before and was very happy to get another opportunity. I really enjoy the course. It has all the things I like – sizable elevation changes, blind shots, forced carries over barranca, water and frog crossings. There are also some nice ocean views from the back 9. Check in was easy and all the staff very friendly. We spent a few minutes warming up on the range. The grass stalls were available which I always prefer over the mats. The range is in pretty poor condition but suits the purpose just fine. There is a practice bunker also. The putting green was super nice. It’s very large and gave us a scarily good preview of how tricky the on-course greens are. We were joined by a walking single who plays there regularly and we started on time at 9:02am. The course conditions were somewhat disappointing but more from a visual standpoint than of playability. The Bermuda fairways and rough were more brown than green but had complete coverage, thick cushioning and a surprising amount of roll out. Many tee boxes were chewed up but all seemed level. The only real disappointment was the bunkers. I was in a few and only one of them had good quality sand. The others were just thin dirt with lots of little stones. My “shot of the day” was from one of these bunkers though, so I won’t complain too much. The greens… Wow! They are in excellent condition and they are tough! The guy in the pro shop had said they measured 10 but they seemed much, much faster. There are hard to read multiple breaks that are strongly affected by the ocean. Many putts stopped, reversed direction, picked up speed and ended up off the green. Not a great putting day for any of us lol. After the round we enjoyed some tasty burgers out on the patio. Overall it was a very fun day. I still recommend the course and look forward to playing again when its greener.

Played our men's club monthly outing on Saturday 9/9/17
Course was in very good conditions although physically the fairways had some brouwn spots from being cut too low in some areas, not dry spots.

Tee boxes - definitely need to improve on the level, but managed to find a fairly level spot to tee it up
Fairways - ran well, not many unsanded divots
Rough - long and shaggy in many areas, made it difficult at times to find and errant shot, between the four of us we lost at least 20 min looking for our balls
Greens - starter mentioned that they were still damp from the morning watering but would dry up by the time we hit the 10th. They were still a bit long to prevent sun damage, and a bit slow specially up slope putts.
Bunkers - the two I was in were both different, one had nice sand, the other seemed a bit dry packed.

Customer service was excellent. The front desk kept us informed on starting times, the starters at the 1st tee were friendly, shared information on course conditions, and shared small talk on golf while we waited to tee off.

Glen Annie 1 - Gil 0 - - will have to go back another time and get even :)

First Santa Barbara golf course played since I've moved to Oxnard last July. Got the first tee time of the day since I had to be at work at 11, our tee time was at 6:30 am. I'm not going to gripe too much about it but the pro shop guy that opens the gates overslept and there was a line of cars waiting outside. He got there at about 6:15. Doesent bother me too much because we are all human and mistakes happen, wasn't his day not worth getting upset.

Tee boxes
- This was probably my biggerst complaint about this course. If you are charging $57+ the tee boxes need to be level and repaired properly. There was not one single tee box that did not have sever divot damage that was not repaired with sand mix or anything. It literally looked like the driving range with divots everywhere. (2 out of 5)

Fairways
- Can't complain they were lush and green. They were great, some areas a little thin or overwatered but oh well 90% were up to par. (4 of 5)

Greens
- They are definitely tricky to read. They rolled really nice and they were speedy. They had the pin placements at some good locations fun to get too or try at least. Greens were definetly the best maintained part of the golf course. (5 of 5)

Overall
- The course is pretty challenging. A lot of blind shots and target golf. First time around is pretty tough. Not knowing lines and that's ahead it's tough to play. I will definetly go back and play this course again. Some funky holes that are kind of like really?.. is it worth $57 (resident rate) I honestly don't think so. I wouldn't pay more than the $57. I had a good experience and recommend this course to everyone. Course (3 1/2 out of 5)

Played Glen Annie on 7/18/16. It was a Monday afternoon, so the pace of play was great. Weather was fantastic and the views were amazing. While this course is a little "quirky" with its reachable par 4s, a shared green, double dogleg par 5, etc., it's still a fun and challenging course. I must say that I am not very familiar with the course, having only played it on one other occasion, and course knowledge is a premium. Many blind shots. And, don't even ask me where I was supposed to hit the ball on hole #'s 4 and 14! Conditions were pretty good. I took my 4 year old along for the ride and he had a blast. Good time and we will be back.

Course was in good shape with solid coverage everywhere. Fairways are typical thinnish bermuda but did not have ridiculous amounts of roll out. Rough was good in most spots but had a few questionable patches here and there. Tee boxes were hit and miss with some in good shape and others needed some TLC due to divot damage. Greens were good with limited divot damage. They were running very true, but not a quick as they looked. Bunkers looked very good.
The layout is very intriguing with some definite screwballs thrown in. The par 4s definitely show a lot of variety from the target oriented shorter holes to the longer brutes. POP was a ridiculous 2 hours 45 mins. Not a lot of people out there!

Played here on October 26 for the first time. I have to say I am very glad we had someone with us that knew the course or it would have been a very long day. Blind shots. lay ups, and many risk reward holes. The course is in very nice shape right now. The only issue here is the tee boxes. Many were not level but we did notice one was closed and being redone so maybe they got the message. We enjoyed playing here for our first time and look forward to return when the course is greener and hopefully the tee boxes level.

Was invited out as a guest by my brother in law for the YMCA Montecito scramble tournament and fundraiser at Glen Annie yesterday 10/16/2015. What a blast and fun day. I had not played this course since May of 2009. Weather was just perfect with a very slight breeze, overcast conditions with the sun piercing through on occasion-high of 80 degrees. POP riding was almost 5 hours as we had a shotgun start at 12:20pm with I believe 36 total groups or so. The greens were the highlight of the course in great condition rolling medium speed, green color holding irons with little to no ballmarks. Some of the greens here are large, some medium size and some with slope. The fairways looked half green and lush and half brown color but they had great padding and were lush enough where I did not encounter one hardpan lie. I hit 9 fairways for our group which for a semi-hilly course fit the bill. I was in one sand bunker on #11 that was raked and in decent shape with semi-firm sand but enough sand to easily splash out of. The tee boxes were the worst part of the course. They were not level but did contain semi-lush teeing grounds. The rough was not to penal but they did have some healthier rough around some of the green complexes around 2 inches or so. I really enjoyed the layout more than the last time I played here in that I knew the course somewhat. The YMCA and Glen Annie staff treated everyone like gold with a box lunch burrito, range balls, putting contest, tri-tip dinner, silent auction and great party atmosphere which all went towards a great cause supporting kids---that's what life is all about. I would recommend this course---just check freeway conditions if you traveling north as our trip due to the 5 north fwy shutdown was a 2 hour 30 minute trip on way up and 3 hour trip on way back to Camarillo/Moorpark.
