Played Glen Annie yesterday morning. First time playing here, so I wasn't sure what to expect. You don't hear much talk about this course with Sandpiper and Rancho San Marcos so closeby, but it's also a really nice course. Beautiful setting on the hillside with some nice views of the ocean on a number of holes. Very hilly and fun layout. Perhaps a little expensive for what it is ($70 on a Friday), but not too bad given the great location in Santa Barbara. Beautiful weather yesterday, as well.

I was one of the first people off in the morning. Joined up with another single. We were stuck behind two foursomes much of the day, but they finally let us through on the back nine. Still a nice pace at about 3.5 hours.

The course was in pretty good shape. The greens were exceptional. Some of the nicest greens I've played on all year! Very soft on approaches, but rolled smoothly on putts at a perfect speed. The fairways were in decent shape. Plenty of brown spots, but nothing that affected play. The rough was a little more hit and miss, with some bare and/or patchy areas. A few tee boxes were a bit unlevel, but the grass on them was excellent (even the par-3s, especially that early in the morning). Only hit into a couple of sand traps and they seemed fine. Overall a nice course in a beautiful setting!

Played Glen Annie for the first time on Saturday the 12th and had a good time. Course is in fairly good shape, bunkers in need of sand, but the greens are nice and medium speed and the fairways are in good shape. Some tee boxes need to be leveled out, but the track is in generally good shape and is a fun ride. Lots of elevation changes and some tight holes, a few short but fun par fours and some long ones too and the par 5's were not reachable for me, but were fun. I liked the course and would play it again, especially if I can do the group golfer thing for 39 bucks. Poa greens, so be pre-paired if you play in the afternoon for a little bounce and some tricky breaks.

Played 9-2-11, Back up in SB for school and got my first round of the year in. The course was in very good conditions, The fairways are kinda dead looking, but play nearly perfect. Greens were in great shape rolling a good pace. It was evident they cut them today. Tee boxes were ok and bunkers were great. Will be back soon, weekday resident rate is all i can afford here and the course is definitely not worth the non-residents rate on the weekend.

Overall, the course is in great shape and you better be in GREAT shape to walk it, very hilly especially the back nine. The greens held very well. Lush fairways except for three on the back but they have punched the bad spots and top dressed them. Planning on going back tomorrow for a another round. Best deal in the SB area. Of course, the weather here is outstanding!

Played 1/28. When I lived in SB I played here once a week. The course is still a fun track to play. The greens were great, the fairways were firm and the traps were good. Pace of play was outstanding for a Friday. Even though some of the holes are gimmicky, this course is on my top 5 list of places to play. The GM Rich is a great dude and the rest of the staff is courteous and friendly. They have special discounts if you host a tourney there. Overall I had a great time and played pretty well. I hope to make it back sometime this year.

I have been playing this course for over 10 years and it is in the best condition I have ever seen it in. The fairways are lush with very few bare spots if any. The greens are accepting and smooth. The bunkers could use some maintenance and some sand though. For the price, this course is the best value in Santa Barbara county. And for $52 during the week (includes cart) for Tri-County residents, you can't beat the value anywhere.

The Frog Bar is a great 19th hole and the customer service was also very good.

Great views, great golf, great service, great price. What more could I ask for? Ok, maybe some sand for the bunkers.

Most of the course is point & shoot, but there are some holes were you can let your driver go. The great thing about Glen Annie is there customer service. They make sure you are well taken care of and very courteous.

Well, I've been playing in this area for years now. I do appreciate Glen Annie - mainly because there are so few options in the SB area. However, I will, and do regularly drive to play better courses in the area. In fact, Glen Annie is basically a "one-up" on the local muni, but that's it. Take a look at Rancho San Marcos, Sandpiper, La Purisima, River Course at Alisal. All have deals, some more or LESS expensive, and offer far more than Glen Annie. I hate to to hate, but they've got to do better. Limited market or not, there are better options. To those who have played the GK tournaments, I think you would agree.

Great course - my favorite in the Santa Barbara area and definitely the best value for tri-county residents. When I first started playing this course would just eat me alive (I once lost 10 balls in one round) - it's definitely a course that requires accuracy.

Interesting layout (other people have noted the numerous blind shots and doglegs, including one hole with a double dogleg (chair-shaped) design). The rough is ROUGH - this is a course that rewards accuracy. The greens and fairways are always in great shape.

This is not a course you want to walk - lots of very steep elevation changes (which the layout takes advantage of). Multiple elevated tees allow you to really bomb away with the driver.

The food at the bar is great and the views are better. Check the rates for twilight - it's a great value.
