Super fun time teeing it up with rgm2525, GDR23 and for the first time smurd21 at Spanish Hills Club. I don’t play as often anymore but when I get chance to play with a GKer I have not before, I love it. Thank you everyone that comes out to my events.

Spanish Hills Club is one of my favorite places to have a golf outing at. The course is very fun, challenging and always in great shape. There are beautiful views of the ocean on holes 15 & 16 and beautiful views of the mountains from the clubhouse and front nine. They have gorgeous clubhouse with excellent event services. Driving range is awesome and grill/snack bar rocks. Our Spanish Hills Club events always sell out, for good reasons. Great round this morning 6/1/26 riding with buddies Ron and John joined by gker Richard who was a pleasure to meet and play with. Group 1b under beautiful 75 degree weather with about 1.5 clubs of wind today. Our Pop was around 5 hrs keeping up with the group ahead. They had their downhill range on mats and had a nicely sloped putting green nearby the 1st and 10th tees. My second time here as I played a while ago in 2008 with a buddy. Really enjoyed the layout which is tight in places but looks tighter off the tee vs when your in the fairway you realized you had a little more room to operate. Found many tee shots you are hitting over a rise to a hidden fairway in the distance. A bit more dogleg left to rights here at Spanish Hills. Plenty of greenside bunkers, fairway bunkers and out of bounds to keep the best players honest. They also have a couple water features on holes 10 and 18. The greens were in great shape very quick true rolls. Would say close to a 11 on the stimp but holding irons nicely. Surprisingly a bit more undulating then they look on approach. Rated 9/10. Star of the course. Fairways were in above average shape with most all lies in the fairway padded nicely with some minor brown grass here and there but mostly green lush lies. Rated 7.5/10 Tees level and in above average shape. Rated 7.5/10 Was in greenside bunkers on #13 and #16 that contained firmer clay like sand with enough base to hit out of. Rated 7/10 Not much rough on this course and it varied in length depending what hole you were on. Found the rough about a foot or so off many fairways and the lies were great. Rated 7/10 Looked like the facilities were nice and all staff encountered were friendly. The proshop was small but adequate. They did have a snackshop/bar on the range which was pretty cool. Views from the golf course especially the back nine were amazing. If you have an opportunity to play here jump on it. Recommended.

Great fun running another successful Vivid Golf/GK/Golf Moose event at Spanish Hills Club in Camarillo, CA. Our full showing was treated to fantastic playing conditions under beautiful weather the week of filming Will Ferrell’s upcoming golf Netflix series. The film set featured authentic looking grandstands, TV towers, Hole-In-One Car…the works :)

Spanish Hills Club did a super job adjusting our check-in/staging area with staff on hand to assure an excellent run event. We couldn’t do our pre-round Vivid Golf Skill Challenge so I gave out my extra stock of Golf Moose polos, sunglasses and sleeves of balls (pick one) to all players. It was a super time as always teeing it up with GKer rgm2525 who helps out with most events. Greens ran smooth, fairways were in exceptional bermuda turf shape with rough and bunkers in great shape as well. The only blemish on the course, which is likely gone by now, were the tee boxes that were still recovering from a recent overseed.

wow!! what can you say negative about this place? Nothing really. Played an event there yesterday for the first time. What an amazing course and facility. Tee boxes, greens, sand traps , all of it. The layout was interesting fun and challenging. The greens were like the putting green in the store. The view excellent. If you can ever get a chance to play this place, for sure play it. One of my new favorites.

Played and ran a Vivid Golf/GM/Greenskeeper.org private course event at Spanish Hills Club on Monday. Spanish Hills Club was one the first private clubs to host our group. The club was impressive then, it’s on a higher level now with many more improvements to the clubhouse, facility and course on the way. If you’re a group organizer, Monday, June 30th was my 10th event here since 2023. We love it. The staff is very professional from contracting the date through event day and with follow-up.

Played 6-30-25 in a GK/Vivid outing in a 11am shotgun start, finishing in a little under 5 hours. Easy check in, nice well stocked pro shop, down hill driving range off of mats, and decent sized putting green that matched greens on the course. Bermuda based course with a mix of wide to narrow fairways that were in good shape with good roll out and nice lies. Rough was in good shape and cut maybe an inch longer than fairways. Tee boxes were lush and level. Was in one greenside bunker that had a good layer of soft sand. Most greens a medium to large in size, rolling a little on the slow side today, but mostly true and playing medium-soft. Fun course that is in good early summer shape.

I have to start this review by saying, I’ve been organizing multiple events at the Spanish Hills Club since 2022, what was already a great experience is now an expectational experience from event organizer/player's experience. I run 100+ players events and all my outings at this club have been sell outs. If you’re an event organizer, or just someone considering joining or playing at the club, read these reviews (and mine below), check out the photos posted. Teed it up on Monday, 3/3 with GKer rgm2525, Bob and Pat. The course is in super shape, greens smooth, holding shots running medium/fast. Fairways, full lush coverage, firm with the ball sitting up. Rough, full lush coverage, already coming out dormancy is mostly green and beautiful. The rough cut down this time of year but come Summer, it gets thick. Tee boxes, level, lush and again well groomed.

From an organizer’s perspective on the event day, the cart staging area is fantastic as is their staff in assisting. There is a short walk down to the range and lower grill (food is delicious). They also provide a shuttle going back and forth for convenience. The recently renovated clubhouse and facilities are grand. Our players always feel like they are having a special experience.

On a clear day at the Spanish Hills Club, I always marvel at the stunning views. Check out the photos I just posted.

Played here today in group 1B of the 11:00 Golf Moose + GK outing. Absolutely gorgeous day! It didn't feel like we waited all that much but POP was almost 5 hours, but understandable because the entire front nine was CPO as well as one hole on the back.

Conditions are quite good. Greens are mostly smooth, fast, and more firm than soft, although full shots still stopped quickly. The collars look like dirt from afar but they were actually mostly dormant bermuda that rolled very fast and firm. Fairways were green and in good condition, providing nice lies all day. The rough was also in good condition and wasn't too deep except for behind the 18th green. Green tee boxes were good. I think the only bunkers I was in were fairway bunkers and they were nice with not too soft or deep of sand. Some areas were still a bit wet/muddy from all the recent rains, causing the CPO.

This was my first time here. This course keeps you engaged with lots of elevation changes. Very few parallel holes, and OB/penalty areas come into play on many holes. It reminded me most of Coyote Hills but also had shades of Pelican Hill on some of the holes with wider fairways. (The back-to-back par 5s on the back nine come to mind.) Very nice clubhouse with stellar views of the surrounding rolling hills, and a few holes offer views all the way out to the ocean. Very fun course and a great day!

Was super excited to play here for the first time as part of a tournament. Unfortunately, the staff made the round extremely unfun. Course was in great shape but the group to go in front of us tee'd off at 8:14am. We were scheduled to head out at 8:30 and the started had us hit our first shots at 8:31am. Sure enough on the 3rd hole a guy that wasn't even the marshal at the course, just the club instructor let's us know we're behind and to close the gap. Since we tee'd off at 8:31 and the group in front of us teed off at 8:14 it seemed to me we were right on track. Additionally, the group behind us was two holes behind so we were definitely keeping pace. By hole 5 the same guy comes around letting us know we'll need to skip holes to keep pace. Once again no group in site behind us but we're still trying to haul around the course. On the same hole the guy comes back and says we'll come back to hole 10 and just skip over to the middle of the back 9. We get to the back 9 and there's 3 groups stacked up on the tee box. Seems absolutely idiotic but maybe that was just me *shrug*

Was having a pretty decent round then it all kind of went to sh-t , not saying that was anyone's fault but my own but the round was absolutely horrible due to the staff mismanaging their start times and then putting in on the players. Given how rude they were, I won't come back here ever, which I'm sure doesn't mean anything to them since they don't want people like me there anyway but it was a big let down.
