Wife and I made the 2.25 hour drive out to Frankston to check out this course. It is well respected and regarded as one of the top public courses in the state. okay, so first impression was good...nothing overly awe inspiring from the parking lot...but you could see ALL the towering pines all around. Easy check in and off to the range....balls are complimentary and the range was decent....no complaints. The course was fun, challenging especially for the first timer...complex greens and you really need to know where to hit and where you could miss. This course reminded me at times of Pinehurst and also Texarkana Country Club. It is a fairly tight course with its share of doglegs. I am glad we made the trek to play the course, but I dont know if i would make that drive again for it. I think the regulars have a GOOD monthly deal, but the general public like us are paying over $80 each for weekend play...a bit high in my opinion.
