Desert Aire run by idiots!

Spending the weekend with friends in Palmdale over the holiday and we (6 of us) decide to play Desert Aire which is about 5 minutes away from the house. My buddy called the day before at got us an 8:55 tee time for Friday July 3. We get there a half hour ahead of time and are told that we'll have to walk because there are no electric carts left, at 8:30 AM! Now this course is a nine-hole course which means you have players hitting the No. 1 tee after coming off No. 9. Well, the backups had started already because of heavier than normal traffic and the fact that people were walking instead of riding. When I asked the group ahead of mine what tee-time they had their response was, "whatever it says on the receipt". When I told them what a tee-time was the next response was, "we've never had a tee-time here, but we paid in front of you so we're ahead of you." When I proceeded to tell them we had a reserved tee time that didn't even phase them. Then the incident with the marshal is what led to our leaving. The marshal told us we would have to wait because the players coming off of No. 9 had the right of way. Well, if that's the case then we were never going to get on the course at this rate we told him. He said that's the way it is, so people in my parties said that favoritism is not the way to run a golf course and we decided to get our money back and vowed never to return.

So in the parking lot on a hunch we called Rancho Vista Golf Course just to see if they had anything available in a reasonable time frame and we got back-to-back times at 11:30 AM. They were charging normal $42 rate that day (which is almost what we would have paid at Desert Aire) and my groups had a great time even with a windy day and finished in a little under 5 hours. It was a much more enjoyable experience than what we could have even had at Desert Aire which I recommend to NO ONE! Racho Vista yea, Desert Aire nay.
