27 holes at Moorpark CC

On Friday 6/10, I was lucky to be invited to play at Moorpark Country Club with Dominic and Teo.  Our sponsor, Adam from CDWG was unable to make it.  His wife is very pregnant and was having baby troubles.  Sorry you couldn't make it Adam and you were very missed.  Hope your wife is ok.

I've owned Teo for the past 3 years and this was to be was to be our "Major" . He'd been trash talking all week.  I took the day off from work and got there at 7:00am to warm up.  Dom and Teo showed up early and we were able to get started by 7:30 which was an hour earlier than our scheduled 8:30 T-Time.  We played Ridgeline first and then Creekside.  The weather was overcast and cool all day with very little wind.  The course conditions as always were excellent and the greens were deceptively fast given all of the moisture in the air..  

After a typical rough start, we settled into the pace of play and Teo and I as usual, continued to do battle.  Dom struggled early but finally settled down and started hamering his drives.  Dom bought drinks at hole 8,  Bloody Mary's and Blue Moons for later.  He didn't tell us they were doubles.  I drank mine way too fast and was suffering by the time we started Creekside.  The first nine ended with Teo 51, Dom 55, and myself 45.  Things fell apart on the back nine and after the first three holes I had to start drinking coffee before Teo got too far ahead.  After 18, Teo and I were tied at 96.  Dom came in at 111 which isn't as ggod as he has been doing lately.

We decided to play an additional 9 after lunch (awesome breakfast burritos) and they let us go on Canyon Crest.  I'd sobered up and was playing better but still having trouble off the tee.  Teo continued to put on a putting clinic and Dom kept surprising himself with Pars.  We ended up Dom 58, Teo 52 and myself at 47.  So once again despite my attempts to relingush the title, I beat Teo by 5 strokes.

All in all a great day and we had a blast.
