The booking process is frustrating as you get different stories each time you book as to whether you're able to book through the course or having to use their online site which shows up as the hated golf now on your credit card. The staff is friendly and do a good job. The carts are holding up but more and more lack GPS which is actually not very accurate. The tee boxes were all in good shape with plenty of turf and few broken tees. The rough really doesn't exist except on a few holes in sections where you shouldn't be. There are a few forced carries which adds to the difficulty. The fairways were in good condition with a few having sections of some sort of weed that grows on a few holes. Lies were good for the most part with adequate turf on all holes. The traps are in excellent shape with plenty of mostly white sand. The sand in a couple of holes was very damp and you will find the fairway bunkers in the worst condition of those on the course. The greens hand total coverage from first to last and rolled well. The greens were quick but slightly slower than usual. There were more ball marks in need of repair than usual but a divot tool took care of them. The rates are reasonable compared with other local courses and they do give seniors a weekday break. The course is one of the few in the valley without maintenance going on which is nice. Great views and easy to recommend. » Close Morning 4.5 hour round on the Creek/Stone nines. The last review says it all. Nothing really different other than the Stone nine had a few holes under repair with the tee boxes being moved up to shorten the already shortest nine hole layout. We weren't informed OF the construction upon check in or when we booked online? » Close Mid morning round in about 4.5 hours. The place is so spread out even if you're going at a decent pace that is about the time it will take to complete a round. The weather started out cloudy and windy with a threat of rain but at the turn the sun emerged and the wind died and it was hot and muggy. The staff is always very helpful and friendly inside and out. The practice facilities are excellent and a joy to use if you arrive some time ahead of your starting time. They have new robotic ball pickers on the range which I was told were 40K each. Evidently though they are very slow and miss many of the balls. The carts are holding up well with fairly accurate GPS and speakers. The tee boxes were in perfect shape with a broken tee here and there but great. The rough was thick but it was dry and easy enough to find your ball. Hitting from the rough if you had a good lies wouldn't cost you any yardage but if the ball was sitting down it was another story. The traps are always in perfect condition from the practice area to the fairways and greens. I did not find a trap today but used the practice traps which were a little damp. The greens are almost perfect with a few ball marks here and there but few. The greens appeared to have more break than they actually had today. Putts held their line well and a good speed but slower than in past rounds. The greens are so large that three putting is always an issue. There are many long drives between hole and numerous blind shots and forced carries that really test your game. I always love to play here and highly recommend that if you want a challenge to pay the price. I lived within a couple of blocks of the casino and course years before it was built and still remember hiking through what is now the Journey course to the top of the hill. Great views still. » Close Mid morning Sunday round on the Creek/Oaks nines in a little over 4.5 hours. It's always good to play early morning here on the weekends if you want to play in four hours or under. We didn't this time and waited on several holes for three slow groups. The new messaging system that lets the slow groups to pick IT up didn't seem to be doing much. The staff is always quick and helpful. The tee boxes were all dry and slightly thin with the par three boxes beat to death. The rough was being trimmed on a few holes to a good length with the others being a little long which made locating the wayward shot time consuming. The fairways were in nice condition but there are a couple with thin sections? The skunks had destroyed sections in a couple places on two of the Creek holes. Mostly good lies and easy to hit from. Still too many unfilled divots from approach shots into the par fours and fives. Easy to empty the divot mix on just one hole. The traps were all in nice shape with most being raked fairly well. The greens are in really good shape with not too many ball marks. The speed was slower than usual but quick enough to give some a test. The resort guests are often those that slow up play especially on the weekends. Rates are a little steep but they do allow walking which is a nice stroll on these two nines. » Close Played Saturday mid morning 4.5 round on the Creek/Stonehouse nines. The course was busy as it usually is but moving smoothly. The staff is always great and the carts are holding up well. The GPS is pretty accurate and helpful for those new to the resort. The tee boxes were is good shape with the exception of a few that were in need of turf. The rough is at the right length now and allows you to find the ball and put a decent shot on it. The fairways were all green with good lies from start to finish. The approach sections on the par five holes have many unfilled divots. It would be nice if the maintenance crew could fill them because the LAZY golfers cannot. The traps were all full of sand and most were raked well and not very damp. The greens have total coverage and fewer ball marks than I've ever seen. The speed of the greens was quick but not as quick as they have been in past summers. The Creek is fairly flat and straightforward with only one pond. The Stonehouse side also has one water features but is much more difficult with hills and difficult tee and blind shots. The overall course is in nice shape right now and I would disregard any negative nannies. » Close
