I'm passionate about playing golf, but I can't stand typical city golf where rounds take 5-6 hours. My business does not allow for regular golf, so I often play in binges--2 or 3 rounds a day for several days while on vacation, then little or no golf for weeks. I truly enjoy practicing, especially pitching and chipping at decent facilities. I'm new to L.A. area golf, and have played many more rounds in Washington, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado than I have here in my Long Beach neighborhood. One of my pet peeves is people who talk loudly on practice greens or driving ranges, either to friends or on cell phones.
