I was a guest at a tournament with a bunch of retired guys who were all great.
The course is in excellent shape after the recent punching of the greens. Everything has healed up and is ready for play. The greens were sneaky fast and rolled very true. My group played the white tees which was nice, except a lot of the tee boxes were all grouped together actually playing forward. Not sure why, maybe because of the high winds to keep a better pace. Tee boxes were in great shape. The fairways were also in really nice shape and tee shots hit low would run out a fair distance. There were some really tight lies around the green that made you think about using that putter from distance. The rough was cut low which made it much easier to play in the wind. There were a few bare spots in the rough, but all in all in good shape as well. I was only in one fairway bunker which was in good condition. I didn't really pay a lot of attention to the greenside bunkers, but they looked very playable to me. We did not see a beverage cart all day, but the service at SL is always good. The only minor complaint is that the kitchen was closed at 3pm and there were only junk food snacks available by the time we finished our round. All in all, it was a great day at windy Sierra Lakes. Looking forward to getting out there again soon. » Close I haven't seen a review for MC for awhile, so here it is.

Played on Friday afternoon with great weather for a round. I played as a single with two younger great guys. The deer were out and unfortunately so were a couple of drunken fools in front of us. After a 3 hour front nine, I started wondering why on earth would the cart girl keep feeding these idiots more shots. Anyway, the fairways were decent, the rough was uncut and kind of inconsistent. The greens were the best part of the course, however, they are punching today. The sand and tee boxes really need some work, accept for #18 where the bunkers looked great. Not sure why. Overall, it was a frustrating round, not because of the course, but because of the idiots in front of us who were constantly being obnoxious and confrontational when we asked them to keep up. So, after a 6 hour round, I watched all of those drunk guys get in their cars and drive off the property. The staff here always great, but the cart girl needs to recognize when to cut people off. They ruined what was supposed to be a nice round of golf. The highlight of my day was when one guy actually yelled at us, "I'm a millionaire and I can do what I want", to which we replied, "that's great, you can afford to get some golf lessons". lol Sorry for the rant! » Close Played Jurupa Hills with a buddy yesterday from the white tees. The conditions here are not that bad but have deteriorated since the last time I played here.
The tee boxes need work as many were uneven and full of divots. The fairways have decent coverage but there are more than a few areas with hard pan and dirt. The rough was not bad at all and very playable. We were able to find our ball easily in most cases. I was in a few sand traps. Two were ok and the one was really compacted. The greens were in good condition but a little slower than usual. There were also a lot of unfixed divots like most course these days. I still don't understand how golfers think this is acceptable. FIX YOUR DIVOTS YOU LAZY &*%$#%@ ! You know who you are. There are two things that I hate on the golf course, unfixed divots on the greens, and spitted sunflower seeds on the greens. What kind of a moron thinks that is a good idea. So inconsiderate!! Anyway, the best part of the round was a 3 hour POP at 1:30pm. GL Out. » Close
