green fairly thick around greens and tees. Looked great. Fairways are greening up
and did not have a bad lie from them all days. The greens however were the best part.
Fairly firm med fast and no ball marks on them anywhere. Great conditions, great weather
A completely enjoyable day.

Played the last couple of weekeneds. Pace of Play is a big issue here. I had to walk out after the 15th. It had been already 5 hours. They had a tournament and the Marshall was not allowed (as he confessed) to tell them anything. Got a rain check though. This course is busy and the marshall does not venture out too much.

Other than that, conditions are fair for mid February.

This Course has come around in the past year. They have hired a new greenskeeper and you can tell. The driving range is actually useful now, not just a bunch of dirt. The greens on the Oaks is recovering and although there's still some bare spots, they do not interfere with the game. Lots of shade may be damaging the grass, but it sure is nice to have that shade during the hot summer months. Fairways are nice and very forgiving, with is nice for those of us that frequent them a lot.
the other 2 9's are nice and wide, with some force carries. This is a course that makes you think, and laying up usually the smart option (not that we listen...)
Overall a good value.

I am a weekely regular at Valley Oaks because a buddy of mine lives in Visalia and it's an easy commute for both of us. I am not fond of this course though because it is overpriced for the quality of the course. Diseased greens, crummy fairways loaded with bare spots and equipment tracks. It is the most heavily played course in the Valley and it shows the wear/tear. The Lakes portion is the most enjoyable of the three nines. They are installing new irrigation so hopefully it will improve the conditions.

The guys in the pro shop are good but the big guy needs to go, he was very rude. The course was ok, i did look like it was going better but still alot of room to grow.
