Hey Everyone - So what d'you shoot this month?

I'll lead off - played today at Rustic Canyon - wow is the course looking great and playing firm! Greens are rolling beautiful and should be only better come our outing this month on the 25th!

My game, not so good - lol. Need to practice my short game. Struck the ball OK.

The real highlight - played with longball23 (Gary) - what a pleasure it is watch someone with that kind of game. Guy had 12 putts on the front nine and hit the pin on the par 3 17th...10 inches from draining it for the ace! Thanks for the show.

Had my first crack at team play today as we (Robinson Ranch) hosted and defeated Via Verde 38-10 on the Valley course.

Finished my match all square as my opponent and I both made sand saves on our final hole (#16). Neither one of us ever had more than a 2 up lead so it was a much better match than the other pairing in our group (which we won 7 and 5).

Not sure if I'll do this again as the pace of play was pretty dang slow....but, who knows?

Played Westlake Golf Course, a local executive course down the street from me. Longball23 and RobStretch join me for 1:15 tee time…thanks guys. Rob you certainly validated your “Have Gas – Will Golf”. Making an hour drive to play a Par 63 with some buds - awesome. It was a fun day, we were all making putts and coming up with some great shots. Rob and I each had a chip in for birdie on the back nine. Gary (longball23) added another story to his legendary Westlake GC history. You may not know this but Gary has previously shot 5 under and 7 under on this course. Westlake is an executive but it’s not an easy one. So we’re on the 18th tee, 250 yards dog leg left around a group of big 40ft trees. Gary is +1 for the day having just botched up a couple putts on the last hole for a bogey. He tees up a 4 wood, proceeds to knock it on the green, 5 feet, cans the eagle putt! Shoots -1.

Great playing Gary. Way to hit the shot when you need it most.

Played Talega yesterday. Played very well 37-37=74. 3 birds, 5 bogeys. Bogeyed #8, #9, #17 and #18. just could not complete the deal. Birdie out of the sand on the par 5 second. If the ball striking and putting ever align in the same round. Look out.

Erich, great job. Match play sure is a different game isn't it?

John its actually a par 67 and a short one at that....

Thanks guys for the kind words but what John DID NOT MENTION is that both he and Rob shot in the 70's highlighted by two chip in's on the back nine for both guys and back to back birdies for John on #14 and #15....solid round guys...John's 73 could have been in the 60's with a break here or there and with Rob's driving accuracy off the tee.... sky's the limit robster.

Paul ....."74" that a great round congrats.......hope to see you at Rustic and Soule Park....how is Jeff doing?

Thanks gary. Jeff shot 70 with me last friday in our skins game. 37-33. Made some clutch puts for par and birdie coming home.

I played Tijeras today. Pretty uninspired round. Couple of wayward shots on the front for a 43. Better on the back with a 38. No birds. Pretty good rain the first 3 holes. Actually took my jacket off after that until the back 9. Then just a slight drizzle.

Team play tomorrow.

What's with the me and the front nine at Tijeras. Another 43. Balls in the water on #4 and #7. Went to the back and chipped in for bird on 12. And another bird on 18 to shoot 35. I think only the second time I have shot under par for 9 holes.

Leaving for Orlando in the AM. Hope to get some golf in while I am there.
