Love late winter golf in SoCal. Fast green and most golf courses not aerating the greens starting until the end of the month/March.

However, kicking February off in Las Vegas today with a round at Royal Links and now that I'm keeping score in preparation for the GK Cup Team Play coming up this Spring I'll have many posts to contribute here.

Hope everyone has a great month teeing it up!

Kicked off February with 36 holes in Vegas with mpisarski, rob1563 and famed02 (Ed for just the second round).

We started at The Club at Sunrise first off watching the sunrise appropriately. Unfortunately the magic I had with my previous round 76 that included 5 birdies decided to stay in the hotel room to catch some extra sleep. I struggled throughout the entire round capping it with triple bogey on 18 for bogey golf round of 90.

Feeling like the day was setting up as a carbon copy of the day before where I shot 91 - 76 I had high hopes for Royal Links Gofl Club that quickly evaporated culminating in a 10 on the par 5 hole #4 that featured a shank 3-iron and visit to one of the 100+ doomesday bunkers greenside (took 3 to get out which I did hitting backwards). With frustration levels now peaking on what was also a crowded slow golf course, it was forget it mentality grip and rip round moving forward. Sort of back on track entering the 17th hole I found yet another doomesday bunker greenside that took me 2 to get out (again conceding to the hitting backwards to avoid the huge lip). Fortunately come the 18th hole the golf Gods decided they were done getting back at me for the 76 yesterday allowing me the birdie 18 to lift my spirits for the long drive home to LA after the round. Shot a 95.

72 holes in 2 days with awesome GKers, laughs, jokes, music, great golf shots, not so great golf shots ... missing it already.

Wow 72 holes in two days, I guess Vegas doesn't sleep! On top of the great golf sounds like you guys avoided the nasty weather we endured here in California. All I know is I'm thankful for the perfect so cal weather I had for my San Diego trip. I didn't have much to brag about in January so hopefully February puts me on the right track for the GK cup team match.

Finally getting my game back on track. After a terrible January that only saw two total rounds under 90, February has been a welcomed swing of the pendulum. Three rounds thus far for the month, all of which are sub 85 The highlight came today with an 83 at Spyglass. All clubs were working fairly well, especially the wedges and putter. Only 1 three putt all day and that was on the 18th. 7 pars and 1 birdie to go along with only 1 penalty stroke (who loses a ball in a sand trap) made for an excellent day at such an awesome course.

Played a home match at Muroc Lake gc- a military course and did real well with a 76. Six bogeys and two birdies... but I'm sure the guy I played against is gearing for the rematch... gotta love it!

QUOTED  did real well with a 76

Yes you did. Congrats, Noel.

Personally, I have been trying to get more golf back into my routine.

I played five rounds the last week of January with decent scores and birdies in almost every round.

First February round in at Olivas last weekend. I shot 86, with birdies on Holes 2 and 18.

Oh man, glad that's done. A bad swing combined with super challenging playing conditions and keeping strict score landing me an even 100 at River Ridge Golf Club. I say glad that's done because once a year when I have to start keeping score for GK Cup I will shoot a 100+ round.

2017: 100 at La Purisima
2018: 101 at Coyote Springs
2019: 100 at River Ridge Golf Club Lakes Course

Disturbing for me is that I'm averaging low nineties right now since keeping score again with exception to the one outstanding round in Vegas shooting a 76. More upsetting is I've received some outstanding golf lessons from GDR23 but since I won't take the time to practice I'm letting myself down.

Cold weather +30mph winds= roller coaster round at river ridge. shot 44-46 for a 90

New irons were working well especially the 4 iron on hole 7 from 199 out that landed 2 ft from the pin.

Just need to buy a new putter that fits me a little better and re-grip the driver johnny let me use.
