Likely besides a couple weekend GK Plays outings that my golf is going to be very limited to making a decision to play the afternoon or night before the day I play on the weekdays. So be on the look out in the Meet & Play.

Looking forward to everyone's posts!

Well I won't be golfing in June this year but wanted to give an update on my recovery. Things are going very well. Walked half a mile today and felt like I could have gone farther. The goals as of now are to be able to walk a mile and bend my knee to a 90. Bending is the biggest challenge. In the 50 to 60 degree bend so far but painful to do so. Walking around the house without a cane most of the time. Still taking lots of pills but trying to cut back on the pain meds ASAP. Hope July might be my breakout month!

after ending May with a solid round, I started off June with a decent outing at Spanish Bay. Two birdies and four pars on the opening nine had things off to a great start. Struggled in the wind on the back nine picking up a few pars but a ton of doubles and a triple for an 87.

Epic Golf trip this weekend. After hitting it big at Harrah's south lake Tahoe I treated the group to Edgewood on Friday. We had a 7am tee time already booked but winning at the casino made it easier for everyone to play. It was a chilly and windy morning but clear as can be. First few fairways were verti-cut so they were a little tough to hit from. We played combos and I was striking the ball very well today. Greens however were tough and I had far too many putts. I shot 92.

Round two and three were on Saturday at grizzly ranch in Portola CA. We had booked a on site cabin that sleeps 6 people and plenty of room for more I highly recommend this place for a golf trip. First round was a Jekyll and Hyde type round I had 2 birdies and 5 pars but 4 double or worse including a 10!

Round two was a fun round we started as an 7 some doing a horse race team tournament. For those of you who don't know what that is it is a 2 person team alt shot format (or scramble) with a twist.... Anything goes! That means you can throw stuff at the golfer, yell, and do anything you want to try and mess them up. Each hole one team is eliminated.

The teams were

Matt Pisarski & Gregholla- MG
Rudyclub & Rob1563- RR
Chad & Zakk (friends of mine) - CZ
Apisarski (allowed two shots) - AP

On the first hole MG found the fescue, RR found the bunker, Chad from CZ hit a 5 yard drive after being distracted, and AP went OB right. All had good second shots with CZ making par the rest bogey. Tie for last all teams move on.

On hole two a par 3 MG hit long after a divot fixer hits them mid swing, RR offline, CZ hit the green, AP also on green. MG scrambles for par and AP, CZ both make par, RR eliminated.

Hole Three a long par 5- MG smash down the middle before people can distract, AP smash down the right but in the rough, CZ also down middle. CZ have to layup, AP goes right again, MG decided to go for it and one is short and one long. CA struggle and make dbl, MG make birdie, AP makes par. CA eliminated.

Last hole we a tough dogleg par 4. MG smash it long but have a decent lie, AP smashed a drive over the dogleg and gets a miraculous lie in the trees. MG cant hit green and make a DBL after poor chips. AP hits the green and two putts.

We played the rest of the round as a scramble but didn't keep score.

Feel like I've finally turned a corner with this new grip and seeing scores finally adjust to represent that.

After something like 5 of last 8 rounds in triple digits, shot my first sub-90 round in ages at Mile Square with the added pressure of the GK Cup match, but was still hesitant to switch from my old grip with the driver. It worked that day in spurts, but still needed to be addressed. Then had an epic day at the range, including the driver this time, and thought, 'Eureka!' Nope.

Played a quick round at Westchester the following evening and it was disastrous - worst score there since 2016.

Then played Brookside #1 from the blues this past weekend, fully committed to new grip, and shot 89 with a braindead triple on 18. Thrilled with the result (it's been a REALLY bad 2019!), played nine at Harbor Park on Sunday and struggled the first three holes with driver but then went just 1-over the last six holes for a 6-over 42.

This is the most positive I've felt about my game in many months, or even since November or so last year. Can't wait to get back out there. The good part is I have so many awful scores on my SCGA handicap that it shouldn't be terribly difficult to bring that handicap back down again with a few proper rounds.

June started with a big road trip for Matt's birthday bash, with Edgewood Tahoe and Grizzly Ranch, and stopping in for the GK event at Ridge Creek Dinuba on the way home and throw in a regular Friday round at Angel Park's Mountain the following week.

Weird, all 3 scores were exactly the same, with the same front 9/back 9 scores too.

Edgewood- nothing to write about golf wise, but the course is incredible and playing along the lake was awesome. My highlights are all not related to my play: 1. warming up with the lake off to the left while sipping a great Bloody Mary 2. Greg almost sniping a guy putting up the grandstand behind the 17th tee with a bladed shot on 16. 3. Playing 17 and 18 as a 6. Such a great time and glad I got the invite.

Grizzly Ranch- again, golf wise, not a whole lot, but Grizzly Ranch is now my favorite course. Such an incredible experience. Highlights: 1. Driving just right of the green on the short (about 250 yards from the copper tees) 11th hole. Pitching to about 20 feet, then putting 20 feet off the green on the sketchiest downhill putt I've ever had. Tried to putt from off the green only to see it roll back to the same exact spot. Ended with a double. 2. Playing a horse race on the 1st 3 holes, anything goes, with rudyclub as my partner. Of course, after being eliminated on the 2nd hole, we both played the 3rd phenomenally. Finished the 2nd 36 playing a scramble with Alex, with our team dubbed "scrambled boges." We just could not put 2 shots together.

Ridge Creek- Another great GK event!! I had a blast on the course. It set up well for putter from almost anywhere. Alas, my duck snap hooks which haunted me the 1st 2 days left only to be replaced with a high 2 fairways over slice. My only highlight (outside of the perfect play of the 9th hole for par): after chopping it down the 18th fairway, losing a ball, hitting out sideways of the bunker in the middle of the fairway, I hit a 60 yard putter to about 8 feet for a 1 putt triple.

Angel Park Mountain- I shamed a perfect condition AP Mountain course with a horrible putting performance, well over 2 putts a hole (super sad face). I did have a very good driving round, outside of the snap hooks on 1 and 17. Played 18 as perfect as I could ask, 260 down the middle, 9 iron past the hole to about 20 feet, then (story of my life), birdie putt comes up 2 inches short. 48/48 for a net 73. Way too many putts for a round with 6 GIRs (only 4 pars) and 4 penalties killed a what shoulda/coulda/wasn't a sub 90 PB round.

81 at La Mirada today. Only one double today on 17. Had sub-80 in view but finished 3-over last two holes. 25 putts for the round but missed an easy birdie putt on 7 and three-putt hole 8. New grip feeling better every day and scores finally starting to reflect that.

Mom just sent me three from Florida (because moms - I'm 50 next year!) so I will bust out that majesticness to counter your awesomeness.

Played a couple fun rounds this week. First locally for me at Sterling Hills Golf Club (will be posting my review shortly - very good/great shape) Monday with GDR23, rgm2525 and abbacat (thanks Wendy for making the long drive) and then today at Glen Ivy Golf Club (great shape - review coming plus photos) with weber (finally, after all these years, super guy), dconnally and Andrew1. Both great times. I'm bombing my driver again which is making me very happy

Hoping to get a round in down in San Diego Thursday next week and of course in Vegas at GK Plays Reflection Bay on Sunday 6/30 ... still some spots open for that.
