I took a day off of work on Thursday and played at Buenaventura. For the second time in a row playing there I shot a 78!

This is way outside my usual scoring range, but there must be something magical about that course for me.

So far it has given me my first birdie, my first hole in one, and two of my lowest scores: 78!

Not to complain, but I did take a quadruple bogie on Hole 13, but the four birdie round helped even it all out!

I guess I should play there all the time!

I am hoping to get out this weekend for what will be my last round of the year probably! I will have my right knee replaced on Tuesday and don't expect to be able to play till at least Christmas. I am looking forward to having both legs the same length again and hope I don't have to re-learn my swing all over again!

82 at Indian Wells Country Club (Cove) on Sat. Despite having a major issue with a hook off the tee for the first 7 driver holes My recovery game was on point. Shot 42 on the front with one OB, 14 putts, and only 2 wasted shots, chunk and splash. Back nine I used 3wd on most par 4's to keep the ball in play plus the back nine gets tight with mountains on the right and houses on the left. made 2 doubles but two birdies mixed in with a few pars and a bogey here and there for a 40 on the back with 13 putts and 2 OB.

Overall for being the first time playing here I feel that I played great.

Big grip, takeaway and overall swing changes have brought about some poor scores of late, but I feel that's what is necessary to get better over the long run. When I'm striking my irons well now, it's really nice, but again - the scoring is still not there, mostly because the changes have completely obliterated any driver confidence and it seems to affect some chipping for now as well. Sadly the best round I was playing recently was a scramble tournament at Pechanga, but perhaps all those good lies from someone else's shot contributed to that now that I think about it.

Just need to stay the course and trust the process. It's always going to get worse before it gets better when implementing big, but necessary changes to the mechanics of the swing and setup. I just hope it gets here soon.

I just heard they are overseeding the fairways this year. Was it cart path only?

Going to head down there in December to check out how it went. Hopefully we can grab a round together Jim.

Had a great time getting back on the golf course in over a month at DeBell GC yesterday. Thanks t8fish and rgm2525 for joining. Sorry 24hourgolf you could not make it. Beautiful weather on challenging shotmakers course. I was very relaxed and it showed. Hotdog putter was on fire. Smooth swings kept me in play most of the day (that is a challenge at DeBell!). Rolled in 4 birdies!!! Was rocking the birdie chain big time! Last birdie was so sweet. Rolled in a 12 footer on 18. Was feeling so confident I was going to make it, brought the birdie chain up the putting green so I would not have to go back to cart to get it.

Riverwalk wasn't CPO, but had lots of roped off areas. Greens were rolling nice, fast and tricky . . . only 1 birdie from 15' while missing three diabolical opportunities from inside 5'! . . . and a lip out pitch on first hole Presidio. Course should be nice come December.

. . and yeah, the birdie chain is sweet!
