Anytime you take away consumer options, it is bad for the golfer.

The goal is long and straight! But since I can no longer hit them long, could I at least hit them straighter?

This is bad because golf now charges large fee's for booking times and now they just bought TEEOFF.COM which is my favorite booking site due to the deals they offer with no fee's. I expect them to start charging $3+ any moment now because golf now is greedy.

I agree with Nick this will be bad for golfers.

Yeah, this is a bummer. I'm a big fan of TeeOff.com.

Maybe this will drive everyone to the actual course websites. I made a point to stop using most of those sites to try and utilize the actual course websites and make those tee times a little more profitable for the courses.

I would love to use the course websites and try it out. The problem is, I've rarely come across a course site that even with a regular Golfnow price (not even a hot deal), the rate from the course is quite a bit more expensive than not. Take Alondra golf course for example, if you book any time through Golfnow you get the cart for free. But through the course, the rate is the same but without cart. I called and told them this, and their response was book on golfnow. So....oh well.

I rarely use Golfnow and never heard of EZlinks. I have found course sites offer decent deals though not as good as Golfnow. Most of my discount purchases are from Under Par. I love the unlimited play of free replay they offer. There is one now for Reflection Bay for $200 for 2 people with free replay! Thats the kind of deal I jump on. I know in one of our discussions a few years ago it was agreed that it makes no sense for the course to give such great deals to Golfnow and not offer as good or better direct through the course but I guess it works for them!

This same conversation is on the GK Facebook page and has some surprising (to me) comments and opposite of those here. Those who work at golf courses LOVE GolfNow for some good business related reasons. This just leads to my unscientific believe that if it's good for business, it may not be good for the consumer. I'll continue to shop around and find the best price between the course site and the secondary market sites.
