Crack of dawn tee time which meant the front 9 was still wet from the night watering. Greens were slow (due to the wetness) and bumpy. First couple of fairways were littered with several range balls. Back 9 was in much better shape. Wide fairways, 5 par 3s, 5 par 5s.

Two ball tee time 11:45, 4 hour round. Easy pace, no marshal, no drinks cart, good golfer discipline all around. Tees are uneven and dry, fairways well trimmed but also dry, some to lots of bare spots and fast, greens were sanded today and had lots of bare patches and very bumpy, but seemed to be watered enough. Sand was not consistent and sometimes bare in the bunker with lots of stones. It presented as a tired muni but a good layout with sufficient challenge and worth it if you can get a deal.

played 8/29. course needs water but can't get it because of drought. greens in good shape. fun course especially with $29 special rate. would play again

Played this course on 10.7.07. We used an internet weekend special $49.00 including 1/2 car & lunch. This was a fun course to play. Staff is friendly. The course was in good condition and the greens are medium fast. Greens also had plenty of undulations and breaks.

Good golf course in a great setting. Rates are reasonable and course is in good condition for the amount of play. Employees are friendly and very helpful.

I have played Franklin Canyon in wet and dry periods for over 25 years. Today the course was in probably the best condition I can remember: the greens rolled rather consistently and it was in very nice shape overall. The yardage from the back tees (a shade under 6600 yds.) seems longer due to the usual wind and numerous uphill shots. The tree-lined fairways will punish the errant ball striker, but mostly the fairways are wide. The pace of play sometimes suffers due to the many rounds played here. The driving range is good for warming up, but not really for practicing (mats only)-however there is a rather large chipping green which is very popular. As with so many public courses, the bunkers could use some sand and attention. Nevertheless, all things considered it is a very nice older layout (NOT surrounded by houses) and it provides a fair challenge to golfers of all skill levels.

Played Saturday before the superbowl. Cold and windy. Average conditions. Very slow play. It's an okay course...but, it's run by american golf so beware! Some good, tough, uphill par 5's.

I've played Franklin 20+ times and have really enjoyed myself there.

This is a really fun mix of moderately difficult holes mixed in with very scorable holes. The course is quirky with three par 3s in the first 6 holes---which contributes to the early tendancy for the course to back up.

I've found the greens to generally be in pretty solid public course condition and the fairways tend to be pretty lush. this course also has the honor of being home to my first eagle earlier this year (7th hole par 5s from the tips: driver, 3 iron, putter). feel free to commemorate the moment as you see appropriate if you visit.

Finally, the course has several tees from blind spots: I would recommend not playing the course without someone who has already played the track,
