Possibly my favorite course ever, and I've played all the big ones. It is so good! Conditions were fantastic. This place gets so much play, as evidenced by old divots, but they really do a great job of keeping it pristine. Pace of play is an issue with the sheer difficulty combined with a lot of "tourist" golf. Played twice this week. First off yesterday and played in 4 hours. I've played before in the afternoon and it was almost 6 hours. Play early! Maybe greatest 1st hole you'll ever see. Spyglass is the best!

Course in great shape. This course is great way to get the feel of golf on the water. I've gone back and forth on this course for years, but I think I've finally decided it's not a great course. Something just doesn't feel authentic. I'd recommend playing once to decide for yourself. The redo should be very interesting. Was told by staff member that it will shut down in 2026 redesign for 1 year. Really hard to believe it will only take a year but I guess they want to get that revenue back ASAP. Great piece of property for Gil Hanse to work with but probably very restricted in terms of how much earth he can move with all the environmentally restricted areas.

I'm a big fan of this place. It's all about hitting the fairways. Rough is serious and easily a 1/2 stroke penalty. Lot of interesting holes. Course is in fantastic shape. I love the local feel. A very relaxing place. It looks much easier than it plays. Must keep it in the short grass. Super challenging greens when they get rolling fast.

Love Poppy Hills. $300 is too much for me, but $100 at twilight is great. Layout is fantastic and conditions to match. Pace of play was swift. Played 2 rounds this week. 4:15 and 4:00 hours. Beautiful course.

Great, tough course. A little too tight with homes encroaching on a couple holes on the front nine, but get past those, and it's a great layout. Everyone very friendly. I wouldn't pay the rack rate. I think it's an $80 course where I live in Dallas, but this is Monterey. Deals to be found and highly suggest that route. Love the local feel. Rode as a 4-some in 4 hours. Fantastic shape, except for bunkers, which were a little thin.

Course in great shape. Fantastic service. Like playing in a garden. Super lush and wonderful landscaping. Great conditions from tee to green. Wouldn't pay the rack rate but at a discount it's a no-brainer. Rode in 3 hours.

I walked down the 9th fairway, only half way through the round, not even out by the water, yet, thinking "this might be the perfect course". It's so good. It's extremely playable, with most the challenge coming on the greens. They are so good, so fast, and you'd be completely lost trying pick lines without a caddie. A great experience that I spent a few years figuring how to achieve, and it's simply a special, special place. Unaccompanied guest tee off in the first hour at 7am. I went in the pro shop and they could not have been friendlier. They are so glad to have you there and want you to have an amazing experience. You check in and then they direct you to the putting green, right out front, roll some putts, meet your caddie, and await your time to tee off. The pro shop is tiny. Maybe one of the neatest things I've seen at a course which was such a small gesture....a box of brand new, shiny pennies for you to use as a ball marker. Just struck my as simple and classy. While rolling putts, the locker room attendant comes out and introduces himself and ask if you need anything. We then meet our caddies, who between the two, had 90 years experience at Cypress between them. Yes, 90 years. They know the yardage of every single sprinkler head on the course. And they have caddied for everyone imaginable. Great stories. I won't give a hole by hole review as that's out there for anyone to research. lt's such an interesting course, though. The walk from 14 green to 15 tee and then 16 tee is the greatest walk I've ever had. Playing 1-14 is like being in the front row watching the greatest band in the world, but then crossing 17 mile drive to 15, 16, 17 and 18 is like the bouncer pulling back the curtain and inviting you backstage. Amazing! I wanted to be the savvy golf course architect-guy and be able to defend the criticism of #18, but I couldn't. It's a fine hole, but just doesn't fit the rest of the course, and lacking a little drama for a 18th hole at maybe the finest course in the entire world. What you'd pay to play Pebble is what you can expect at Cypress. If there is any drawback, it's that you are there to play the course, in a timely manner, do you souvenir shopping, and then "thanks for playing", but never in a rushed are rude manner. It would be great to be able to use the practice area and be able to sit down for breakfast or lunch, but that is all reserved for members only, which is understandable considering how small the entire place is. We were able to use the locker room and check out some great historic photos. But, no doubt, it's magical! And as stated before, they are as generous and welcoming as could possibly be. I've been lucky enough to play some of the best courses in the country, and nothing compares to Cypress Point.

What a great surprise! Wonderful, old school golf. Course is immaculate. Played Pebble two days prior and as good of shape as Pebble is in ahead of the US Women's Open, Del Monte is in just as good shape and maybe even better. Not a blade of grass out of place, bunkers well-groomed, rough is lush and at least half a stroke penalty. Feels like a US Open type course. Played Cypress Point the day before where greens were running at 11.5 and Del Monte was running at least the same. A couple putts in our group, from above the hole, ran past the hole and off the green. So much fun. Good design, great atmosphere, friendly service. This would be my home course, with these conditions and price, if I was a local. I would put it at the top of the "tier 2" courses in the area outside of the "big boys". I cannot wait to come back and play. I hope they can keep these conditions where they are because you will not find a better maintained course anywhere.

Course is in perfect shape as they get ready for the women's open. #8 tee box is closed as they re-sod for the US Women's Open which was a bit of a bummer. Rough is no joke. Great customer service. 9 and 10 were playing extremely difficult. I don't think enough gets said about how tough this course really is. Short of the green is always better than long. Still the best place on earth.

The Hay par 3 course, putting green, and bar/restaurant is a great place to spend a few hours. Wonderful vibe, laid back, spectacular scenery. The course is fun, with mostly 50-yard holes, but a few 100-yard holes, as well. I don't believe it's worth $65, as you can get around in about 45 minutes. I received 4 free rounds after joining Pebble Beach's/Del Monte's Duke's Club, but I wouldn't spend the money, otherwise. We had just as much fun playing matches on the putting green. Loved the speakers and music surrounding the putting green.

This place is just good for the soul. We did the early bird back 9 special. Course is in good shape. Back 9 right on the water. Greens rolled well. Love the ocean breeze, smell and scenery on every hole. This course will renew your love for golf. Maybe the worst practice range you've even seen, which only adds to the charm. Highly recommend.

Course is in great shape. Good pace of play. Extremely challenging greens. Seem to have opiate illusions and tough to read. Beautiful course in the forest.
