Played on Monday, May 19th. Weather was warm but not overly hot though I am glad I had lots of Gatorade.

Booked this Hot Deal for only $9 plus taxes and fees. Thank goodness for that since the course was a bit rough around the edges.

Showed up early and took avail of the putting green which was small but nice. No starter so I teed off early since there were no groups teeing off.

Greens were okay, but had some bad patches. The the Fairways and Rough were rock hard under what little grass was there. The lack of rain has caused the earth to be very hard. This meant you got a lot of roll on your shots, but on the down side it was darn near impossible to make a consistent short shot.

Greens had mostly nice grass and rolled true, but were very firm and would not take backspin well. Tee boxes were in Poor condition with lots of sand and patchy Grass.

There is only 1 forced carry from the Senior tees -- #17 over water. But there are a few more from the Regular tees. #16 is the problem hole on this course. It is always wet even after no rain for at least a week.

I would only recommend this course for Beginners or on a super hot deal like I got.

A bit of a drive for me, but was intrigued by the reviews on GolfNow ... and the fact that I have a Deal Caddy coupon to use in the future.

Played as a Single booking a GolfNow Hot Deal $14 + fees. Arrived early and was greeted by cart person who helped get me loaded. Pro Shop staff was professional and courteous, but not overly outgoing. Was allowed to tee off early since the course was wide open. (Glad to see that since some courses will not allow Hot Deal tee times to tee off early.) Joined with a local for the back nine.

Weather was hot and humid with lots of sunshine. I was sure glad to see the cart girl twice, but she did quit around 3 PM. Maybe Mother's Day had something to do with that. Only took just over 3 hours to play.

Greens have been aerated as posted. The staff expects the greens to be fully recovered in 2-3 weeks. I suspect it may need some rain to help the irrigation, especially for the Fairway and Rough. Rain is needed for most courses I have played this spring and Providence is no exception.

The Fairways are Good to Above Average while the Rough is only just Good. Get lots of ground roll with hard surface in Fairways and approaches to the Green. Greens will hold if spin is applied to the shot, but Putting is an adventure with the aeration.

Course is Hacker Friendly from the Senior tees (White) with not many forced carries. Some water but makes up for it with LOTS of bunkers. More waste bunkers than I have ever seen on a course! Course is a bit longer than normal for Senior tees, but not onerously so. One hole to be careful of is #5 which has water guarding the left front, but cannot be seen from the tee. http://bit.ly/1g0fijf

Hole #8 had a temporary Tee box and Green. Yuk. Hole #12 (Par 3) forces a carry of about 110 yards over water, but will only come into play on a very errant tee shot. http://bit.ly/1nxNTYz

My favorite holes on the entire course are #s 14 and 15. #14 has a narrow opening from the tee with an immediate dogleg left. Perfect for a draw, but if one hits the driver straight or left trouble will be found in the hazard. http://bit.ly/RzUXWP

#15 is a nice Par 5 that has a narrow approach about 80-110 yards out with water to the left and a huge mound with trees to the right. Proper placement of the approach shots is required here. http://bit.ly/1g0fijf

#16 is an interesting hole that has a blind shot dogleg left with water protecting the green short and to the left.

Will definitely go back, but will wait for some rain to green up the course. I suspect then it will be one of the nicer ones around.

Played MetroWest for the second time this spring and I must say the course is coming along nicely from the overseeding. The greens are still very hard and nearly impossible to stop a ball on them. When they soften up this course will be very nice

Pace of play was very good for a Sunday afternoon. Right at 4 hours. Fairways are coming around and tees are good too. Carts are being refitted with new GPS devices, but mine was not.

Playing from the Senior tees there are no forced carries but numerous lateral hazards. Some fairways slope down into the hazards which can "eat" balls. #4 is one that comes to mind.

Would recommend this course, but would suggest looking for a deal.

Nice course northwest of Orlando metro area, but worth the drive. Overcast and a bit windy, but nice day considering. Nice pace of play helped by Easter Sunday no doubt. Friendly staff but only saw the cart lady once.

Don't let the scorecard fool you. This course requires you to plan your shots according to the hazards or pay the price.

Not many forced carries on the front nine, but had to lay up on a couple of holes. Was 3 over for the first 7 holes which is very good for me so the course was not that demanding ... or I was very lucky.

#10 and #12 were the first really challenging holes in that one had to chose the right club and hit it as planned to get in a decent place for the next shot. #12 has a hidden hazard crossing the fairway that "eats" tee shots that are not the correct distance (not too far) forcing one to lay up from the tees.

#17 and #18 are nice finishing holes that also require placement of the tee shots. 18 has a steep upward slope into the green making it play longer than posted. (I guess that is why it has the hardest rating on the course.)

All said, I would highly recommend playing RedTail. Especially with a good Golf Now deal.

Course is in Clermont west of Orlando. Played in Dec 2013.

Nice wide open, hacker friendly course

Course has been overseeded for Winter but is in very good condition. Course has elevation changes that are unusual for most of Florida and, surprisingly NO Water to contend with. The course made that up with an abundance of Sand Traps although not all of them have rakes.

Fairways are in very good condition and the Greens rolled true with some undulation making it a nice challenge putting. Greens well watered and could stop the ball. Only 18th Green showed some distress.

Also was surprised that even on a beautiful Sunday there weren't very many on the course. Marshall said that he only had his regulars early and the Noon tee times, the course was wide open.

Staff were friendly and helped us add a 4th at the last minute moving us into an open slot even though we were a GolfNow reservation.

Would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for something different.

Executive course west of Orlando in Clermont. Round played in February.

The Ridge course was somewhat difficult to find since the location of the Kings Ridge Ridge course is not accurately plotted on Google maps. However, the staff at the Kings course were friendly and efficient in their directions. Also, signage is sometimes listed as the North course.

Small clubhouse with no grill, but very friendly staff. Short par 57 course with only three par 4 holes and the rest par 3. Most tee shots are a similar distance which meant hitting the same club most of the day. ;>(

Course had been recently over seeded, but was in very good condition. Greens were firm, but held the ball. Putting surface was smooth and true with some undulation. Wind on the day made for some interesting sideways action on several tee shots.

We took a wrong turn after #15 and ended up playing #6 -#9 again. Back tracked to play #18. Even with that, it only took 3 hours to play 20 holes.

Beautiful view of the surrounding area from several holes. Particularly, numbers 9 and 18.

Executive courses are not my cup of tea, but the course is nice.

Sweetwater is on the Northwest side of Orlando. [Played in March.]

Got a Golf Now Hot Deal for this round. Weather was a bit warm, but otherwise excellent. Played as a two-some teeing off around 1 PM. Employee in pro shop was slightly disinterested and we had to ask for the token for our bucket of balls that came with the coupon. He did ask if we needed the voucher for 2-for-1 drinks though.

Tee Boxes and Fairways in decent shape for Winter. Greens appear not to have been overseeded making them very fast and firm. Fairways are somewhat tight in places which makes for an interesting round for anyone that has accuracy issues. That said, there are not as many water hazards as one would expect in Central Florida. That is made up by the numerous strategically placed bunkers.

We played in less than 3 1/2 hours as a two-some, but on a prior Sunday round with a late morning tee time, it took over 5 hours for a four-some.

Would recommend this course.

Just a short distance off the I-4. Friendly staff, was able to tee off early. No starter for the afternoon, but this was not an issue for us. Our Twosome behind a Threesome that was very slow at times mostly due to being bad golfers (worse than us LOL).

Since this was our first time to play the course, it was a bit confusing. It was hard to tell where the holes led since no diagrams on the holes (we saw just one of the 18 holes marked) and nothing on the scorecard or cart. Not many water hazards (unusual for FL) but more than compensated by lots of bunkers.

Greens were in excellent shape although the fairways are still showing the affect of our mild winter drought.

Only major drawback was the Pace of Play -- it took us 4 3/4 hours to play 18 holes due to slow players ahead and no Ranger.

Would most definitely recommend playing this course.

LPGA International has a shared clubhouse for both the Hills and Jones courses. Facilities are top notch. Greeted at bag drop area by friendly staff (note -- golf carts not allowed in the parking area). Pro Shop ladies were very friendly.

Booked as a Single, but was paired with two young spring breakers from Wisconsin. Not sure why, but we teed off on #10. Played from the Gold tees which are listed at 5744 yards, but played much longer due to the winds. Starter says to expect windy conditions most days due to the proximity of the ocean. Only a few holes have forced carries over hazards. Most do not come into play unless making an errant shot. The course does have a lot of bunkers, but they are well maintained.

This course is in the best shape of any that I have played in Central Florida this year. Lush Fairways and it has full grass everywhere including the rough. Greens on Front had been recently overseeded, but did not affect the putting too much. Greens are a bit firm and fast, but the roll is true and the undulations are not too severe.

The only drawback was the pace of play. Despite having a Ranger there were two groups ahead of us that were very slow with open holes ahead. Not sure if he asked groups to play faster or not. We skipped one hole and still took 4 1/2 hours to play.

Overall, this is a fairly wide open course well suited to the average golfer (15+ handicap). Would definitely recommend it, but look for a discount on GolfNow. Also note that the course gives a FREE round during your birth month if you sign up for their newsletter.

Got a deep discount online which made this a superb deal. Course shows the attention and money that has been spent on the course -- ~ $1.5 million last year to upgrade Greens and Bunkers. Fairways and Tee Boxes were nice albeit some of the White Tee Boxes were worn. The Bunkers were very nice (if I can say a bunker is nice -- LOL); however, the Greens were very hard and our group was never able to get the ball to stop on the green consistently. That being said, the course is very wide and forgiving of errant shots.

The one drawback to our round (and it was a big one) was the extremely slow pace. It took us 5 hours and 10 mins to complete the round. We had to wait before hitting every shot ... and I mean EVERY shot -- no exaggeration. They had a Ranger, but I think the recent online special must have brought out the duffers ... like us. LOL

The course facilities and staff were very friendly albeit upscale. Would definitely recommend the course with the caveats above and am looking forward to playing there again.

Course is in decent shape and should improve with more rain and sunshine. Reasonably wide fairways and decent size greens make this course hacker friendly, IMHO. No forced carries from the Senior or Ladies tees but there are some from the Regular and Tips. Wind made some holes play really long (#9 comes to mind). Some elevation changes, but only on select holes.

Booked online as a single and was paired up with a local threesome. Very helpful to know where to place the ball since there were places that would funnel shots on the fairway into hazards.

Saw several Hawks on the course today.

Front Nine was a bit slow, but this improved a bit on the Back. Did not see a Ranger and only saw the snack cart once. Staff at check-in and Starter were friendly as were the Snack Bar and Cart girl.

Getting a deep discount made this well worth the drive. Will play again.

Overall, the course is one of the better ones in the Greater Orlando area. That said, it is over rated IMHO. By that I mean that based on the gushing reviews and the higher price, I expected more.

Was paired with 2 other golfers to make a Threesome. The course was extremely overbooked given that they were having not 1 but 2 tournaments that day. The course was closed until the college golf tournament finished. That ran late causing everyone to tee off approximately 45 minutes behind our tee times. Because of this, we were backed up waiting on the groups ahead of us on EVERY SHOT for the entire day. Thank goodness for my new friends.

The Starter could have funneled some groups to start on the back nine, but that would have been somewhat problematic given the fact that the course did not have a "Turn" at the clubhouse.

There was no Ranger that we saw for the entire time, but I am not sure he would have done any good. Thank goodness the cart lady came around to visit 3 times. (We had to call the clubhouse to ask that they come visit us.)

The Tees and Fairways were in decent shape for Winter, but the Greens were firm. I suspect they will improve dramatically in the Summer and then the course may live up to its billing.
Thank goodness for a great GolfNow Hot Deal or I might have been upset. As it was, the day was long given the warm temps and breezy conditions which made the course play very long. I know it is not possible, but it seemed as if the wind was blowing in our face on every hole. LOL

The course has several "interesting" holes due to the elevation changes. Among them is the Par 4, 4th hole which has a tee shot over water and a significant rise to the green. Be careful with the Par 5, 17th which is called the "Devil's Delight". Make sure you take the time to go forward to scope out your approach shot ... unless you don't mind losing a ball in the water. We attempted to lay up short and STILL managed to roll 2 balls into the water. ;>(

All in all a decent course, but would not say that it is worth $100 a round. Worth the drive since I got a deeply discounted price.
