Pretty solid, but a bit simple in places, course with options for all player levels. Sadly, the Black tees were not out today (10-22-11), so I had to play blue tees. Tee boxes need some love and so do the greens. There are some really nice holes with great visuals, but some are really generic or bland. I would consider this course to be a "Blackhawk Junior" in that regard and in the playability. I prefer Redhawk as I enjoy a bit more challenging in distance and some of the hole layouts. I would love to play this again once the greens are rolled and running a bit more true. There are plenty of big slopes and shelves on the greens, but don't believe what you see on these greens. Use your feet to help read them.

Whoever was the moron greenskeeper who placed a pin in a front position surrounded by a LOT of ripped up green needs to be fired! There was plenty of lush green about 8 paces to the left, so why destroy that part of the green further?? Seriously, use your head guys!

Course is coming back to life after all the flooding. Some of the course is still under water which is a bit frustrating when you consider they can rent a pump and use that water to irrigate the course instead of using the sprinklers. That would help out with both the flooding issue AND water the areas they are trying to regrow. Overall the greens are just about back to normal. Sadly, they are still really immature (short root bed) so repairing ballmarks leads to some bare spots. Give them about another 2 weeks or so and I think the water should be gone and the course can be up to 85% instead of 70%.

Played today (4/12) and the greens are still recovering from being punched. Greens still rolled well for the shape they were in and held the ball well. Tee boxes need some work to level them out as the lack of flat teeing areas made life a bit tough at times. Fairways should be getting some TLC sometime soon as they had marked areas as ground under repair. I will have to play this again when the greens heal up and are back to the pace people in the area spoke of.

Course was in pretty good condition and played pretty quick (Sunday afternoon in about 3.5 hours). Greens are still recovering from the last punch, but it looks like the fringe and rough areas were very recently punched with what looks like a 1/2 inch diameter punch. Left the cores of dirt all over which is too bad as it made the course look bad and make shots from the rough annoying. Long rough (love it) + the cores (hate it) = tough situations.

I really wish they would do something about the fairways on this course. This could be a really fun place to play, but with the unfair bounces from hard fairways on some holes and muddy conditions on the others, it just beats on you. I can play the Links at Summerly in the low to mid 70's, but I lost 4 balls today on shots that hit the fairway and took strange bounces to finish with an 88. Only plus for me would be the greens are pretty good (if relatively slow) and it isn't an expensive course if you look around online.
