Played twice this week. One of my favorite spots to play. Greens are perfect and running at 11. Fairways a little thin, but still good. Great scenery and great layout. A must play in this area.

Played two weeks ago and great fun, as always. My favorite course in the area. Any visit to the Ventura area must include a round here. I strongly suggest getting a yardage book in the golf shop before teeing off. One of the great joys of this course is thinking your way around this course, so you really need to know the distances to several landmarks, hazards, etc. Just so much fun coming up with a strategy on most of these holes, especially the front nine. Only drawback for the day was that the range was really chewed up and couldn't find grass to hit off of. They've recently improved the putting green, by making it part of the 18th green, which makes the putting green much larger, as needed. Good thinking.

Really great time. This was my first time at Soule Park and it was excellent. Greens were nearly perfect. They were quick, smooth, and tricky. It's a great layout in a very serene and peaceful setting. It is truly a walk in the park. Fairways were very good, but starting to show stress from heat in some areas. Not the best practice facility, but serves it's purpose. Very cozy facility and friendly people. Will be back when I am in the area, for sure!

Very disappointing experience. Greens were pretty awful. They were slow, bumpy, and patchy. Fairways were poor, as well. Lots of "ground under repair" marked in the fairways. Driving range had probably the worst mats I have ever seen. I know I am bashing the place, but there was just nothing great about it.

Greatest place on earth! Words cannot describe an experience at Pebble Beach. Course was in fantastic shape, and greens were perfect. They've done a couple improvements to the less memorable holes such as 13 and 15. They've really added some length, as well. US Open tees are ridiculous! Greens are tiny. If you ever get the chance to play, make an entire day of it. The scenery is unbelievable. Doesn't even look real. Simple the best golf experience ever!

What a great surprise. A very enjoyable course in outstanding shape. They really take care of the layout. Great variety of holes. Greens were very undulating and quick. Some nice views of the bay. Head Pro actually loaded our bags and gave us some tips. This will be in the rotation for all future trips to the area. Great day.

A little let down with pace of play and service. Round took 5.5 hrs. There was no cart girl after the front nine and water buckets removed. Course in great shape. I really like this layout. Greens a little bumpy in the afternoon. I imagine playing in the morning is the way to go. I got a deal online, so the value was good. At the public rate of $200, service needs to be much better.

Played here last week. One of my favorite courses in Dallas/Fort Worth. Very good layout. No two holes look the same, and very challenging. Greens were perfect. Probably best condition I've seen here. This course looks better dormant, as the fairways are fantastic, as well. A really great facility. Heading back tomorrow. Great value for this area.

Greens are fast, rough is thick and lush, and fairways are like carpet. Course is absolutely perfect right now. I've never seen it better.

I visit Westlake Village about 4 times a year and make it a point to play Rustic Canyon every time out. This is just a really fun, challenging course. It requires a lot of thinking, and imagination. And when the greens are as fast as they were the week before Christmas, you will see poor chips and putts rejected as much as 20 yards back off the green. Your short game will be humbled with these quick, sloping greens. I've played Rustic when the greens are a little slower, and it's a whole new test when they get them running with pace. Every guy in our group, at least a couple times, watched as their ball took a slope on the green, and rolled father away than where they started. I love it. They didn't think it was so funny. Each hole is memorable, which is the true test of a great design. The fact that they give single walk-ons free range balls while they wait is a nice little touch. Not as nice as if they'd take single tee times, but still a touch of class. Only drawback was pace of play. We played in 5.5 hours on a weekday. But once again, Rustic Canyon provided a great day! Best course in Ventura County.

I played on Dec 21. I was really excited about finally making it to the Ike, but 9 holes and 2 hours 45 minutes later, I was really disappointed. Even after driving the hour from Westlake Village, I decided to skip the back nine since we were on pace for a 6 hour round, and the course design left a lot to be desired. The first two holes showed a lot of promise, but each hole after that was a simple straight-away, tree-lined, monotonous hole after another. I loved the green complexes. Greens were fast, with a lot of slope. Putting was a really fun challenge. I just got bored with each hole looking like a bowling lane. Combine that with no concern from the marshal to speed up play, or even address it, I decided to beat the rush hour traffic home. Conditions were pretty good. Fairways were a little wet and spotty, but greens, rough, and traps were excellent. The barbed-wire fences lining some of the holes, and sound of jack-hammers didn't quite give you the feeling of a walk in the park. If it wasn't for the pace of play, I'd think about coming back to see if the back nine is any better, but I don't have that much patience. For what they charge, they should really try to make the experience more enjoyable.

Tee boxes and greens are perfect. Fairways need some work. If I was playing this course with some buddies for a couple bucks we'd surely be rolling it in the fairways. Greens were really enjoyable to putt. Would recommend playing early to avoid slow play and ball marks on greens. Back nine has a ton of character.
