Played last Saturday on a beautiful fall day. I can't say enough about this course as it is one of my favorites. The staff is plentiful, friendly and helpful. Be prepared to tip a lot but it's worthwhile as this course is the real thing when it comes to service. Tee boxes, fairways and green were pristine. Rough was medium tough as I was unable to find one ball even though I had a bead on it. At the end of the round, after a staffer cleaned our clubs at the 18th green, we were met at the clubhouse by another staffer with warm rolls of towels reminiscent of the courses in Hawai'i. Course layout is plenty long with interesting layouts. Always a pleasure to play here. One example of the service is when I approached the 9th green, my approach shot was a bit shy of the green on a slope so I parked the cart to hit up and after i hit i turned to the cart and a staffer was already in my cart ready to drive it up to the green for me. Ate at the buffet, gambled a bit and then went back to San Francisco. A very nice way to spend a Saturday, I'd say!

It rained hard all week up until yesterday but today it was clear and sunny and the course held up very well. It was wet parts of some fairways but not muddy nor soggy for the most part. Walked the course as it was cart path only even though buggie was included. Greens rolled dry and fairly true. Used coupon for $39.00. Unique holes 9 and 18 make for test of accuracy and distance control. Good course for rainy season.

Played yesterday at good pace. Good condition from box to green. A few slushy spots in the rough but otherwise dry and firm. Greens were medium fast with some bumps but overall in good shape. Tried to eat breakfast at Hallie's but long line so saw Lumberjacks and it was fine. Front nine is on the short side and fairly straight so making pars should be attainable. Back nine gets a bit more interesting with some water. A good deal using golfguide.org.

Played here two Sundays ago at 10:00am for coupon rate of $39.00. Five hour round due to slow foursome two holes ahead. This course is in very good shape from tee box to green. Layout is pretty much wide open style with some water, has length and some style. No drink cart though but the snack bar is quick enough at the turn. Grass range. Friendly starter. This course is good for winter golf because it drains well.

Played last Sunday, nice day but almost a five hour round at 10:00am. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in pretty good shape but hard to get a rhythm going when foursome ahead is hitting tee shots left and right and short from the blue tees. However, foursome in front of them were holding them up. No marshal in sight. Saw drink cart a couple of times but had a long wait at the turn anyway. Greens were in decent shape but there were bumps and unfixed ball marks. Carts in good condition. Layout is ok but really not too exciting. We play here when we have a fivesome.

Played here last Sunday using a GolfGroup coupon for $21.50! Haven't played here for awhile and while the fairways were groomed well and the greens were pretty good but bumpy here and there, it got pretty bad towards the latter part of the course. The fairways I mentioned were groomed but if you look closely, it was a spring bouquet of grass, weeds and clovers finely cut. Found some big patches of bare dirt in the fairways on the back nine and some bunkers that were pretty much g.u.r. I was surprised because it had been kept up well in the past but perhaps it made sense that they must be hurting for players if we were able to pay only $21.50 for Sunday play. Sad to see so many courses in the Bay Area sliding downhill. One of our buddies did say that play may be down due to someone catching the West Nile flu here in Antioch. We did spray Off! before we started. Oh yeah, range balls used to be free but no more since some butthead decided to cop some balls ruining it for all of us. Why would someone do that?

The young staff is attentive and Disneyland friendly. The range balls are included but there were hardly any balls available to hit. Started on time, starter friendly and helpful and spaced out foursomes nicely, saw refreshment cart girl on the 1st and 2nd holes but not again until the 15th hole. She was very nice though. Oh, the course... tee box to green, course in great shape. Greens true, rolled forever. Course plays harder than slope rating mostly because of the rough. Carts are new and fast. Pace was good especially for a Sunday. Hole 6 is crazy. You tee off with an iron to layup on a hilly fairway only to hit up blindly to a green looking up a steep hill. There are many elevated tee boxes making risk/reward tee shots fun and exciting. A Greg Norman design.

Played last Sunday using golfguide.org after 10am for $49.00, cart with G.P.S. included. Course is in moderately good condition overall. Local rule allows g.u.r. for bare spots on fairways and rough. Course is neo-links style, i.e. no trees. Next to Oakland Airport so typically windy in the afternoons. Front nine is pretty much nondescript but the back nine is more interesting. Greens were in good shape, fairly true, rolled well but not lightning fast. Refreshment cart tantalized us but never made it to us for some reason. Play was slow at times due to second foursome ahead of us. Marshall was very nice and kept us apprised of the situation as he prodded them along. One of the few local courses that has a grass driving range. A good value using golfguide.org but it was a bit confusing finding the weekend rate after 10am because it was in a drop-down menu under the weekday heading.

Tee time about 9:40am, about a 4.75 hour round. Tee boxes were in decent condition, fairways were firm with some hardpan and bare spots, rough was thick and fairly deep, greens were decent with some bumps, medium speed. About average conditions for the price, clubhouse is nice and the restaurant has been good in the past but did not eat there today. Layout is semi-interesting with some elevated tee boxes but not really striking or that memorable. Good, solid course for walking. Not many hazards and not heavily bunkered. Far ride for us city boys. I might opt for Brentwood for the same cost but my buddies seem to like this course.

Got a good rate of $29.00 walking for Sunday golf. But I guess you get what you pay for. The course is a good layout and the teeboxes are fair to good, the greens are not too bumpy but not the easiest to read at times but mostly consistent. The fairways are for the most part grassy but the divots just explode into bits and pieces so replacing divots is usually not an option and since I was walking, I did not have a cart sander. There were big patches of dirt on the fairways and there were at least two bunkers that were neglected so badly that it was ground under repair. So while I didn't mind playing there because the layout is interesting, I am getting kinda grumpy having to play courses with ratty conditions when there are plenty of courses that are kept up very nicely and are just maybe a few bucks more expensive. It was hot and I went through my own supply of drinks on the front nine but there was no libation cart all day. There were however a few water jugs. Restaurant is always closed by the time we finish our round which is a little inconvenient. Oh, if there's one hole that is the bane of me, it's the 10th hole where I never learn to position myself on a flat lie.

Haven't been here for a year or so but I'm now wondering why. The course is in very good shape maintenance-wise, staff friendly, did not eat here. Got a great rate by using coupon. I like the layout with a couple of risk reward holes, lakes, creeks and an island green making for some interesting holes. Greens rolled fairly true but not that fast. Solid course to play for all players.

Course is a beautiful resort with pristine conditions box to green but I'm not sure how I feel about the course layout and design. For me it is not an easy course to navigate because there are many elevated tees and a few uphill runs leaving some level holes. I wouldn't say it was gimmicky but more like very interesting and challenging. Need to play again to give an objective review. Some greens were very fast but others not so fast. Gave us fits trying to figure out if we can hold the green or not. Had too many 3 putts too. If driver not helping, you can find o.b. often in the vineyards or in the fenced off hillside. Bought a set of two coupons at Costco so will play again in near future. Staff and service good. They sell Scotty's for good prices; under retail.
