Rode the Greens (6537/71.3/137) twilight. 80ish, partly cloudy and breezy. Less than 4H POP.

Tees mostly lush/level with most divots repaired.

Fairways lush and very nice to play from.

Bermuda rough is thick and can be punitive even a few inches off a fairway or green.

Sand traps very good with plenty of soft white sand. Fairway bunkers firmer, both types well maintained.

Large Bermuda greens roll nice. Firm, smooth and medium speed.

Customer service very good from all. No Drink cart on weekdays. Nice restaurant on site with good selection/reasonable golf course prices. Excellent all grass practice area which includes range balls but it is a long way from the pro shop and 1st tee. Basic carts do not have GPS. Challenging layout with forced carries and many lateral lost ball areas. Recommended.

Rode the Greens (6537/71.1/135) in less than 4H with Ken. 80's, clear and calm made for great golf weather. Course is very green and lush after over seeding.

Tees near immaculate with most divots filled in. Mostly level and very lush.

Fairways very nice to play from. Lush and they still play firm.

Rough not high but lush. Many times the balls sinks to the bottom of the over seeded Bermuda.

Sand traps excellent with plenty of good quality sand.

Greens medium speed and firm. Few ball marks due to the firmness and you have to play for roll out here.

Cart and Pro Shop staff always good here. Almost never any on course services, but nice restaurant on site with good service, decent prices and plenty of options No GPS on the carts is about the only negative, but the sprinklers are reasonably well marked. Spread out, challenging layout with a nice practice area. Recommended.

No on course services, but nice restaurant on site with plenty of options @ decent prices. Cart and Pro Shop staff always good here. No GPS on the carts is about the only negative, but the sprinklers are reasonably well marked. Challenging layout with a nice practice area. Recommended.

Walked the Blues (6083/69.9/119) in roughly 4H twilight. Sunny, fairly calm and around 70 made for a very pleasant afternoon. $30 to walk with the SLO Co. card is a good rate for this course.

Kikuyu tees mostly level and well maintained with decent coverage.

Kikuyu fairways mostly lush and good to play from.

Mostly Kikuyu rough maintained low with mostly good coverage. Beside and behind the greens the rough is lusher/taller. DO NOT short side yourself here! Many hard pan areas farther off the fairways.

Few sand traps on this course, but those observed were well maintained with good quality sand.

Smallish, old school poa greens were mostly firm but held approach shots very well. Putted medium speed and were relatively smooth even late afternoon. Most slope back to front and fall off to at least one side. No tiers on these greens, but down hillers are to be avoided on these greens.

Customer service excellent, friendly Marshall and Starter. Small driving range and a busy restaurant onsite. Never any on course services here. Fun course, Recommended.

Rode the Greens (6537/71.3/137) early Sunday. Only reached 90 later in the round, muggy but fairly calm. 4H, 10M POP.

Tees mostly lush/level with most divots repaired.

Fairways lush and very nice to play from.

Bermuda rough is thick, the ball will sit down to where you almost have to step on it to see it unless you are right on top of it. Even though it is not ridiculously tall, it is very punitive.

Sand traps very good with plenty of soft white sand. Fairway bunkers firmer, both types well maintained.

Large Bermuda greens were rolling nice after the recent rains. Still firm, smooth and medium speed.

Very enjoyable round made even better when my guest from Colorado almost aced #3, the signature par 3 with the green cut out of the top of a hill surrounded by lost ball territory for a kick in birdie!

Challenging layout with forced carries and many lateral lost ball areas. Customer service very good from all. No Drink cart even on the weekends was a surprise? Nice restaurant on site with good selection/reasonable golf course prices. Excellent all grass practice area which includes range balls but it is a long way from the pro shop and 1st tee. Basic carts do not have GPS. Recommended.

Rode the Greens (6537/70.7/135) early morning in 4H, 15M. Muggy but not too hot and clear with little wind. Course is much more lush after many recent rains.

Tees lush/level and decent to play from. Would like to see them mowed tighter, tough to get a tee to stick in and be tall enough.

Fairways lush and decent to play from.

Bermuda rough is thick and the ball mostly sits down. Even though it is not tall, it is punitive.

Sand traps well maintained with good quality, light sand.

Large Bermuda greens are smooth, firm and medium speed. I usually have the speed down on these but not today. They are still very firm even after all the recent rain.

Excellent grass driving range included with the golf. Carts do not have GPS. Customer service almost always excellent here. No Drink cart early morning, which surprised me on a busy weekend. Nice restaurant onsite with excellent breakfast specials. Recommended.

Rode the Greens (6537/71.3/137) super twilight. Around 100 and fairly calm. POP was as quick as you chose, hardly anyone out.

Tees lush/level with most divots repaired.

Fairways lush and nice to play from.

Bermuda rough green and decent to play from. Thick, the ball will sit down.

Sand traps very good with plenty of soft white sand. Fairway bunkers firmer.

Large Bermuda greens were top dressed but still rolled nice. Smooth, medium speed and firm.

First course Fazio designed west of the Mississippi River in the mid 1980's that will challenge you. Expect forced carries and many lateral lost ball areas. Customer service very good from all. No Drink cart on weekdays in the summer. Nice restaurant on site. Excellent all grass practice area which includes range balls but it is a long way from the pro shop and 1st tee. Basic carts do not have GPS. Recommended.

Rode the Greens late afternoon. Muggy, clear, calm and around 100. Course has really become much more lush after the seasonal Monsoon rains. Several holes on the back have sand piled up around the edge of the rough/desert, courtesy of a couple of flash floods a few weeks ago.

Tees level and nice to play from.

Fairways lush and nice play from.

Bermuda rough maintained low and generally okay to play from with some thick areas. Ball settles in and is punitive.

Sand traps well maintained with good quality, light sand.

Greens smooth and medium speed. Firm, you have to play for some roll out.

Customer service excellent from everyone. Top notch grass driving range included with the golf. Carts do not have GPS. No Drink cart today, and they no longer provide bottled water since the water jugs are filled again. Nice restaurant onsite with decent variety and good prices for a golf course. Recommended.

Rode the Greens (6537/71.3/137) with Owen twilight. Around 100, partly cloudy, muggy and calm. POP 4H... 2.5H playing behind a SLOW 4some on the front, 1.5H playing behind no one on the back. Course has really greened up and become much more lush after the summer monsoon season.

Tees lush/level with most divots repaired.

Fairways lush and nice to play from.

Bermuda rough green and decent to play from. Thick, the ball will sit down.

Sand traps excellent. Around the greens plenty of soft white sand. Fairway bunkers more firm.

Large Bermuda greens rolled nicely. Smooth, medium speed and firm.

Nice Fazio layout that is very spread out. Depending on your tee choice, many tee shots hitting over lost ball areas. Customer service very good to excellent from everyone encountered. No Drink cart on weekdays in the summer. Nice restaurant on site. Excellent all grass practice area which includes range balls. Driving range is close to a mile from the Pro Shop and the basic carts do not have GPS. Recommended.

Rode the Greens with UNCLEDDBOY23 mid morning. Around 100, overcast, muggy and calm. We set our own pace and did not wait and were not pushed.

Tees level with some thin/bare spots and most divots repaired.

Fairways mostly lush with some thin spots and generally nice to play from.

Bermuda rough mostly green and decent to play from, not maintained high with some thin spots.

Sand traps excellent. Around the greens plenty of soft white sand. Fairway bunkers more firm.

Large Bermuda greens rolled nicely. Smooth, medium fast and firm.

Customer service very good on all levels. No Drink cart today. Very nice restaurant on site. Nice, all grass practice area which includes range balls. Driving range is close to a mile from the Pro Shop and the basic carts do not have GPS. Greens and Sand very good, the rest of the course conditions a step down mid summer.

Nice Fazio layout that is very spread out. Depending on your tee choice, many tee shots hitting over Desertscape. The course plays shorter than the listed yardage because of the elevation and the firmness IMO. Recommended.

Rode the Greens with UNCLEDDBOY23 early morning. Very muggy and overcast with little wind.

Tees level but thin with some bare areas.

Fairways mostly lush with some thin areas, usually decent to play from.

Bermuda rough maintained low and generally okay to play from with some thin areas. Not much different from the fairway within 10 yards of the fairway.

Sand traps well maintained with good quality, light sand.

The combination of rain last night, morning dew and top dressed greens made for challenging and uncertain green conditions. The greens were not good when it was wet this morning.

Excellent grass driving range included with the golf. Carts do not have GPS. Customer service very good to excellent from all. No Drink cart today, and they no longer provide bottled water since the water jugs are filled again. Nice restaurant onsite with excellent breakfast specials. Recommended.

Rode the Golds (6625/71.0/141) on the Canyon/Ridge combo early afternoon with UNCLEDDBOY23. Thanks much to Dave for setting up the round! Monsoon season in Tucson, weather started overcast and we were rained on the last 2 holes. Muggy and around 100, we played @ our own pace and were not held up or pressed from behind.

Nicklaus Signature Course, desert target golf on steroids. Huge mounds around many greens. Most holes feature a forced carry over Desertscape. Few holes have any real bailouts. If you missed the fairway more than a few yards left or right, your ball was usually gone. On this course, with all the trouble barely outside the rough line, low rough is a detriment. Longer rough would catch balls that bounced into the cacti.

Bermuda tees thin in spots with few bad divot areas. No challenges finding a level stance.

Bermuda fairways were thin in spots but okay to play from.

Bermuda rough had some hardpan areas and was maintained at a decent POP level. Usually nice to play from.

Sand traps were EXCELLENT! Generous amount of thick, good quality sand.

Large, raised Bermuda greens putted nicely. Firm, smooth, medium speed, with few ball marks. The 141 slope from the next to back set of tees is partially due to the tightness of the layout, but also because of the green complexes. Undulations and tiers to navigate on many greens.

Course was very playable, but the conditions were a step down from my last visit here. Customer service was exceptional. Nice, all grass driving range includes range balls. Only negative is that the basic carts do not have GPS. No Drink Cart today. Many tees are a long ways from the last green, not really a walkable course. Very penal layout, recommended with that knowledge going in.
