The West Course is considered 4-5 strokes easier than the East Course. But it is still fun to play. However, the fairway conditions are not really up to par. There are many bare areas that really affect your swing. Bunkers are OK but more sand is needed. Greens are in good condition but slow. Overall it is an easy course. The toughest is #14 in the back 9, a Par 4 , dogleg right hole. The green location can not be seen from the tee box and it is easily mistaken the green on the left on #16. With trees on the right blocking the view of the green and a creek behind the trees. One must plan the tee shot carefully and land the ball in the middle of the fairway. Otherwise, getting on the green in 2 is impossible.
It is lot more fun and challenging to play the East Course than the East Course.

This is a fantastic course but not for everyone. Be prepared to hit higher scores and losing a lot of balls. This is not a fun course to play if you play it for the first time or if you are a high handicaper. You would know how to play the course. The scorecard does not tell you much.

The course is in every good shape, fairways are well maintained, greens are smooth, bunkers are puff, and hazards are everywhere. The name of this course should be called Coyote Creeks instead Coyote Creek. You can almost encounter a creek or water on every single fairway! If you don't hit straight, you will end up in tough hazards on the sides. Forget about find your ball, just drop one and move on. You will have hard time if you don't hit long. You might have to layup twice in one hole.

Nevertheless, this is a challenging course to play but don't leave your A game at home. Don't forget to bring more balls either.

good luck.

We got a great deal to play two rounds and stay overnight here for the first time. The hotel staff was friendly and the rooms were huge. The course was only 3 minutes driving distance from the hotel.

We were astonished when we arrived at the grass driving range. It was immaculate and green. We can hardly see any divots. The range balls were complimentary and hit as much as you want. A practice bunker and green were nearby.

A helpful starter guided us to the first tee and handed us a few bottles of water. Then, he cited us the course rules.
Our first look at the fairway was impressive. The tee box area was almost perfect without ball marks. The fairway was green without any brown or daged spots. The condition through out the course was just as impressive as the first tee--immaculate. Fairways were so smooth and well maintained feel like green carpet. The roughs were well groomed but densed. We had hard time hitting the ball out. There were many bunkers on the fairways and around the greens. However, the sand was soft. Water hazard was placed on fairways as well.

There were many dog-legged fairways. But without a GPS on the cart and no fairway map on the score card. It was hard to tell where the green was.

The course is not too difficult if playing the gold markers. The Par 4s are not too long and most of them are under 400 yards. The Par 3s, on the other hand, are long. Coupled with hazards and wind, the Par 3s (5 of them) are quite challenging.

We love this course. But there are questions we'd like to have answers:
Why there is no GPS on the cart?
Why there are no fairway maps and green diagrams on the score card?
Why all the flags were yellow on the second day we played?

Got a good deal to play a 27-hole special here today. This course has three 9-hole courses, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel. They are all hilly, some with water hazard, and all of them have many bunkers. The courses in general are in good shape, not in great shape. You will be surprised to see so much dry and brown weeds and tall grass along the sides of the fairways. Greens are well maintained but fast. Bunkers are puff. Some par 4s with uphill slopes playing like par 5s. Some greens are not visible from the fairways. It is very interesting to play but not too challenging if you play the white markers. It was a very hot day when we played but with some occasional breeze, it wasn't too bad even the temperature was near 90.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. However, they have to improve the reservation system. They do not give out confirmation number or email confirmation. It is wise to call a few days earlier to confirm your tee time reservation before going there. They lost our second tee time.

One last note is that the course is very high in pollen. Be prepared if you have allergy problems.

Went to play the shot gun best ball tournament for the first time here. This course is magnificent. It is situated next to the Pacific Ocean. Playing the course is a great experience. Hitting the balls next to the Pacific Ocean is beyond words. The course is in great condition. Fairways are well maintained, bunkers are soft, greens are well kept, fairways are long, and roughs are tall. In order to hit straight, you have to deal with the gutsy wind, mostly from the ocean. Getting out of the roughs is not easy due to the tall grass. Putting is very challenging as well. Most greens are fast and have multi-tier. The putting green outside the pro shop is so smooth and slow. The greens on the course are much faster. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Undoubtedly, you will enjoy playing here. This could be the most memorable golf experience of your life time.

Give it a try.

BTW, after entering the gate to the 17-Mile Road, be sure to take the road on the left not the right. Otherwise, you'll be driving in a circle.

This is an update on this course.
I played this course yesterday and it was a disappointment.

1. Hole #1, Par 4 - cart path only for no obvious reason
2. Hole #5, Par 4 - cart path only no obvious reason
3. Hole #6, Par 4 - closed
4. Hole #7, rebuilding the bunker
5. Hoel #10 - A Par 5 hole was cut into two holes: a 82 yards Par 3 (replaced #6) and a 400 yards Par 4
6. Carts can not enter the fairway within 150 yards from the hole
7. Greens were aerified three weeks ago and they were bumpy, sandy, and unputtable. The speeds and conditions of greens have always been inconsistent here.

The fairways were dry and in good condition. Why stop the carts 150 yards from the greens? Players have to walk back and fore from the fairways and it only causes delays to the game.

To make matter worse, they just had another green fees increased.

I suggest everyone to hold off playing here until all works have been done and the greens are improved.

I love to play the Paradise Valley Golf Course. This course offers free cold water in many holes and the snack truck comes by three to four times during the round. This is a great course. The staff at the pro shop is friendly and the marshalls are very polite and professional. The pace is about 4.5 hours for a round and it has very little waiting. The course is in very good condition. Greens are well maintained and the fairways are green. There is hardly any brown area on the fairways but the roughs are tall. There are many bunkers through out the course especially on #14, a short par 4 with 6, 7, or 8 bunkers protecting the greens. The course in general is very flat. You shouldn't have problem if you elect to walk this course.

To play well here you need to hit straight, play the bunkers well, get out of the roughs at ease, and avoid the water hazards.

We got a very good deal playing here but you can also find great deals online.

It was quite a pleasant experience playing at the San Ramon Golf Club. The course in general is in very good shape. There are some brown areas on the fairways occasionally; bare spots on the tee box areas; roughs are not too long; bunkers are well maintained; and the greens are in very great shape. Playing the white marker is not too demanding for average players but the blue marker is quite challenging. The signature hole, #10, with an island green is the most interesting hole for the course. Although it is only 325 yards but getting no with two shots require some precise skill. The lake protecting the green is large and loves to suck up your balls. #18 is on the back of the #10 with a pond right in front of the green, a careless shot will get your wet and ruin your birdy chance.

You will have fun playing this course.

This muni course is never too busy and the green fees are very reasonable. However, the facility offers very little amenity. It has a very small putting green, no chipping green, and no driving range. In addition, there is no restaurant or food service. You can't even find a vending machine on the course! Bring you own drinks and food.

The course is short and in fair condition. There are repaired spots on the tee boxes and the tee box areas are not too well maintained. The fairways have quite a few brown areas and roughs have roots expose on the bare areas. Bunkers are in bad shape, there is hardly any sand. Even it is a short course but the layout makes it interesting and challenging. If you play the black markers, all Par 3s are long and Par 4s are very long for average players.

I'll play there for the convenience and low cost.

This is an update on The Presidio Gold Course in San Francisco.

The course is in very good condition. The fairways are green with very little brown area, sand bunkers are puff, and the greens are well maintained. One important note is that the greens are not consistent in speed. You have to work on it hard. Also, it is pretty windy in the afternoon.

This hilly course offers your great challenge and fun. Have a good round.

First time playing the Old Course yesterday. In general, the course is well maintained. Fairway ways are green and the greens are in excellent shape. However, the bunkers are in poor shape: they are either have little sand, hard pan, or under repair. For the price they charge, there are no GPS on carts and no complimentary bottled water on the course. Another issue is that houses are very close to the fairways ans seems like your see more backyards than fairways.

The course is not too difficult to play. The #18 signature hole offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and with the Ritz Carlton in the background. The tee shot is quite intimating.

The green fees are quite pricey, unless your can get a very good deal, otherwise, play somewhere else.

This is probably one of the best courses in the Northern California. You pay the public course price and play on an elite course like a country club. Yocha Dehe offers an elite and pristine course settled within rolling hills, trees, and creeks. The course is in great shape and the service is superb. Valet staff will overwhelm you with undivided attention the minute you arrive the parking lot. They treat everyone like a VIP. Just remember to bring lots of change for tips.

The course is beautiful and the driving range offers free balls for every player. There are also free bottle water in refrigerators and rest rooms through out the course. The valet staff will clean your clubs hand you a hot/cold towel after you finish the round. What treat!

Number 1 hole is probably the most memorable hole. You tee off from a tee box 150 feet off the fairway on a tough par 4. What a view from the top! Number 15 is the most challenging par 4 hole to make birdie. You have to hit the ball to the left side of the fairway. It is narrow and there is a creek in the middle of the fairway. The right side of the fairway is wider but it is not easy to reach the green in 2. Most holes are not easy to play and there are always water nearby. Greens are very fast and uneven.

Overall, this is a fantastic course to experience.
