I played here a year and a half ago. But I seemed to enjoy this course better the second time around. The conditions everywhere were great. It is tough to judge the wind in the afternoon due to the nearby hills. This short layout will test your course management and ball striking skills very well. fore!!!

Fun little course. Lots of character here. Many intimidating tee shots to be had whether it was a good sized carry or tight fairway. Some landing areas are wider than they appear, while others are pretty tight and you pray to hit a rock to keep it in the fairway. Fairways were very good to me and seemed to be nice throughout the course. The fairway rough was generally good, with a few patchy or bare areas here and there, while greenside rough was groomed and decently fair to chip off of. I didn't hit any bunkers so can't comment on that. Tee boxes were also hit or miss. Some were good, some seemed like they just added new sod patches, but one of the par 3 ones was pretty angled and uneven. The greens were good for me. Speed was my style and rolled pretty true for my putts. Cart girl came around at least 4 times and very friendly. I'd play here more often if it was in my local proximity.
My main gripe is the lack of having a driving range. With these tighter courses, a warm up bucket would be very beneficial. The chipping area was a bit weak, with a very hard packed bunker. The practice putting green was similar to the course greens.
Great layout and scenery. Loved driving over the long wooden bridge. Definitely not a walkers course here with some long drives between the first few holes. Overall, a fun place to play, especially in a GK outing like today.

Course looks like it used to be in good shape. But it definitely is not any more. They do not take care of it at all. The price was okay. I thought that this course was a top notch quality course in the hills. But it is not even close.

Fairways are okay. Grass is a little inconsistant, but still in okay shape.

Tee boxes are not great. They could be worse, but they have weeds, and different types of grass in them. Not super great.

Greens are not great either. Multiple greens have a lot of dead spots. Some greens have multiple lengths of grass. And they are bumpy. Some greens are fine, but some are not.

And now we get to the bunkers. I don't think that they have been raked in multiple weeks. Most courses rake every morning before play. this course doesn't. They bunkers are the worst i have seen. It was frustrating.

One hole had a pin placement in an illegal place also which was very frustrating.

Could be a fun set up if it was taken care of. But i was very disappointed when I played. It was the first time I have played this course. I was under the impression it was a quality course. And I was disappointed.

Played 6/5 tee time 0648, teed off at 0630 with almost a 5 hour round due to looking for one or more errant balls on almost every hole. Everything on the course is in great shape with exception of the sand traps which were absolutely HORRIBLE! Everyone was having an extremely difficult time getting out of the sand without bump and running the ball back down the fairway. Had the sand been even halfway decent, no one would have had 3 or 4 shots to get out of the sand. So, with the quality of the traps, I would have to say this was the least enjoyable time at Mt Woodson I have ever had. With that said, it is still a great course that takes a lot of target golf to score well and will punish those that don't know where their ball will go when they hit it.

Played 5/24 as a twosome. Finished in abou3 3/4 hours after waiting on a couple of foursomes who offered to let us play through but we were near the final holes so we decided to wait. Course is excellent with the exception of the sand traps which were hard packed. Tees, fairways and greens were above average to excellent. Course is challenging with some blind tee shots ans approaches. It offers some great views of the surrounding countryside and we met some courteous and friendly golfers. This is one of the best facilities I've played at in Socal.

1st time using this site and first time playing this beautiful course. Played 5/3. 1st of all.. the views were outstanding. The gentleman in the pro shop had been honest to tell me they aerified their greens just a month ago. You never would tell. Greens rolled very true, however not lightning fast. Not a mark on them. Probably a 9 on the stimp. Fairways and tees were well defined and beautiful. Not a short drive from downtown San Diego, but defenitely worth the 35-40 minutes. Truely a hidden gem.

Golf Course has come out of winter looking great. Love this track. Calls for some thought not just power golf. Join the Player Club and save big when you come to play.

Played today March 9th with the Chili Dippers, it was cold and windy and we played from the Blue Tees, not that much fun. The course is not in as good as shape as it used to be, maybe it's just winter golf, hope it comes back by this summer. We did play in
4 1/2 hrs. but that was because it was so dam cold.
