Sandpiper is a beautiful track that's currently recovering from September's aeration of the greens. There are a lot of bare spots in the fairways, some of which are really severe, but obviously the greens will soon be back to their typically outstanding condition. The fairways are going to take a lot more time and work, but for the most part the bare spots aren't that much in play. This course is an absolute must-play even at close to $150. The tenth through fourteenth holes are among the finest you'll see in So Cal public golf.

Played Sandpiper for the first time. Great layout. Lots of ocean views on the back nine. Number 11 is an awesome par 3 straight down a hill with an ocean backdrop. The greens were really sticky and rolled pretty good. My only complaint was the customer service. The guy in the shop told me I couldn’t handle the back tees without even asking me what kind of player I was. I played from the tips and fired a 75. They also sent me off as a single and then told me I was not allowed to play through the foursome in front of me. Weird. Really enjoyed the course despite the staff. Will be back.

Great course, great views and in great shape! Breathtaking ocean view holes that play beautifully. I couldn't find anything wrong with this course. It is in it's best shape ever! The staff is very professional & friendly and the greens are immaculate, firm and fast! The fairways and tee boxes are lush! A "must play" at around $112 it's still a deal! Play it now while you can get on, before everyone finds out how great it is.
