Played this course on 7-3-08. First time playing this course. It is middle of summer so it was hot, 108 degrees. The summer rate are really cheap, paid $25.00 only. Also there was nobody on the course. The facility is very nice, nice driving range, range balls was included in the green fees, club house was small but nice. Staff was very friendly. The course itself was well maintained and lush even in the heat. Maybe because not alot of people were playing in the heat. Greens are very fast, alot of courses in arizona have hard fast greens, heat factor.
Water stations were at every other hole. Overall a very nice course and can't beat the rates

Played 5/8. A buddy of mine won two free rounds to play here. (On golfnow .com the course was $69 +tax.) Course was in all around perfect condition. We happened to be playing it the day after a U.S. OPEN qualifier where the guy that won it, shot 64 for a new course record. the greens speed were around a 12. Open layout where you can basically see everything in front of you, but the course isn't flat. On the fairways you can get some uneven lies. Bunkers are numerous and they have steep faces. Has a island green Par 3 on #17 similar to TPC Sawgrass. Course is run by Troon Management so you can count on service being great. If you plan on going to play this course you should make a day of it. The course is over 55 miles from South Scottsdale. Give yourself some extra time for bad roads you take to get there.

This course is still young and needs a little more time to mature. It was a very nice facility with a good layout and once it has a chance to grow in it will be a great course. First Troon managed course that did not provide a yardage guide or GPS. I've been spoiled and miss those ammneities. Right now it is a good value for the fee if you dont mind the drive. We had lunch and played 27 holes for $30. Played the back twice for a second shot at the island green at 17.

Excellent golf course. Fairways and greens are in great shape, excellent internet offer, and staff is friendly and professional. Specifically liked the different color of the non fairway area allowing easy location of golf balls if not in play (saves time and keeps the group rolling). A bit out of the way, but well worth the trip.

Very fine course (Troon). Only down side, the distance to travel to get there. No easy way.

Back in March the course had just been opened for 6 weeks. It was in pristine condition. The fairways were smooth, the rough was lush, the greens were firm and true. What more could you ask for? We were treated wonderfully by the personel there. We
played during peek season and the rates were very affordable for that time of year. The 17th hole has an island green that is worth the trip. It was a great experience and I'm so glad we played at Poston Butte.
