Course is still in its do at stage - the greens are in good condition and can be very tricky at times. There are a lot of sand traps and water throughout the course. The wind can also be a factor during this time of year.
Front 9 and back 9 are totally different - course knowledge is a good value here.

Come down and play - you will enjoy it for sure.

Pros: The course was great and in very good condition.

Cons: 1) The clubhouse attendant failed to notify us of the frost delay in the morning causing the tee times to be pushed back an hour, and we did not find out until after warming up. 2) The starter had no control over the que that was forming to tee off. 3) The restaurant ran out of Hot Dogs AND sandwiches by the time we finished the first 9 (about 3 pm). Sorry to flame the staff but the service was poor at best.

Played 8/14 at 2:15, GolfNow rate $34. Wow, what an amazing course! It is visually stunning, with tons of bunkers/waste areas, man-made lakes that look like they've always been there, huge, very undulating greens, and lushness everywhere. Great clubhouse, superb practice facility, and great employees. Actual playing conditions were not so great, it didn't play quite as good as it looked. It was about 98 degrees out, so the course is watered for summertime to keep the grass alive. This made for soggy tee boxes (but they were all absolutely level), wet greens that had tons of ball marks that could never really get fixed, and lush rough that had mud beneath. And the bunkers were pretty solid. Those things are to be expected in this season, though. The experience and the value were still amazing, I will not hesitate to return the next time I pass through Bakersfield.

The golf is in great shape. I did not see a beverage cart but there is water to drink on the course at some tees because it was very hot.

Nice layout good design. Greens were a little bumpy and long. Hadn't been mowed for a day or so. Same goes for the tees. Very thick but not mowed recently. Very warm past couple of days might be why? Fairways are in the coming out of dormant stage. They had been plugged recently. Definitely had to play winter rules. There were some thin spots. Worse thing was the bunkers. They had little sand, no one bothers to rake them and they were full of water from drainage I guess which made them packed down. Very hard to get out of deep bunkers with no sand. Other than that very good day for golf.

This course is very fun. This course has Great greens with tons of undulations and lots of challenging bunkering. Bring your putting stroke if you want to score. The Fairways were not in the best condition and it looked like they had been punched within the last month and the bunkers were a little firm, but played great. Lots of waste areas and some nice holes with water in play. No beverage cart, but pace of play was fantastic. If I travel to Bakersfield again, I will be playing this course.

Great course, I would play it over and over again. The back 9 is very challenging, and the front 9 is as fun as the back is. Can't wait till im out there again.

No cart girl? What's up with that! Other than that, customer service was great, get the breakfast burrito(huge and very good), pro shop and starter were very nice. The front nine was fun but watch out for 10-12. They were very tough with the pin placements but it fun.
I lost a couple of balls in the high grass in the rough; I knew where they went but I just couldn't find them. The greens were more diffcult than they looked like. Excellent Value, only $23.00 for a 10:30 a.m. tee time. We finished in 4:15 hrs. and the local that was playing with out threesome said it usually is around 5 hrs. When I'm back in Bakersfield I plan on playing here again.
