The hardest opening hole in the Bay Area, and quite possibly the world. Depending on the tee placements, this plays over 450 yards for a par 4 and is all up hill. The fairway slopes from left to right. Big hitters placing the ball on the left side of the fairway can find one of the few plateaus in the fairway. The approach is gradually uphill with a steep assent approaching the green. Play at least 1 club, and most likely 2. The green has somewhat of a false front and is backed long, left and right with a quasi-amphitheater. I played this course about 50 teams when I was in college. I scored par once, and saw a birdie once. Bogey is a good score here.
