Played 3/24. First time playing here and I was pleasantly surprised. Conditions good - greens are great, fairways above average, tee boxes level. Bunkers were 50/50 - some were fluffy-soft sand, others hard pan. Staff was pleasant. Beverage cart, full club house and bar all operational. Pace of play was 4hrs starting at mid-day. $42 w/ cart.

Would say the layout is really not that inspiring. Pretty much straight ahead, tree lined holes, but for me it works just fine. Will add to my rotation. Recommend.

Other: My normal playing buddy is out for the foreseeable future with medical issues so I'm seeking others to golf with on Mon, Tues or Wed. Mostly Woodley Lakes, but open to anything in the $30-$60 range in the greater LA/OC area. I'm a 15 -17 handicapper. Contact me. Thanks.

Played Tuesday. 7:00am tee time, got out an hour late - frost delay. Course is in winter condition - not bad, not great, just kind of average muni condition. Greens are firm and fast. Traps are fluffy white sand. Paid the local $50 rate thru a friend. Service was polite. Pace of play was about 4 hours. Cart girl made plenty of passes. No GPS in carts. They give you two bottled waters in the ice chest. Convenient from the strip. The film-location house of Sam Rothstein (Robert De Niro) from "Casino" can be seen from one of the fairways. Not bad, would play it again if invited ... I just can't say this is a "must play" in Vegas.

Played 6/1 in am. Paired up with three other cool guys, got out about 20 min late. Average LA muni conditions - compares to Woodley Lakes ... wide, flat, maybe a little bit more difficult ... greens ok, some fairways kind of patchy, but acceptable ... for $20 with cart (Teeoff.com "deal time" plus 25% off email code) I can't complain too much. 5 hour round. Waited on most shots, lots of people playing. Great snack bar in clubhouse, no cart girl. Driving range gives you a good size bucket for $5. Recommend.

Played yesterday with Gk'er Kianoa13912. First time playing here. Not bad, but $53 with cart (with GPS) seemed a little high. Course is in winter conditions with smallish greens that were in good shape. Pace of play was under five hours, and we waited on almost every shot. I like Navy or Lakewood a little better, but I'm not against playing here again. In terms of quality/value: compares with Skylinks, better than Alondra. Marshall was on patrol, no beverage cart. Tasty hotdog from grill at turn. Recommend.

Played 1/16 in AM. Prices have increased to $42 (with cart). Winter conditions, but greens are great. You know the deal with this place - wide open and flat. Staff is nice. 4.5 hour round, course was busy. Hot, breezy day. NO MORE BAR! No beer available, just water, soda and chips.

It's no LACC North (which I was lucky enough to play last week as a guest) but it's pushing 80 degrees in January and I'm not shoveling snow ... so life is good.

Played 11/20 in am with three friends. Course is in fair "muni" shape. Not as well maintained as Penmar or Harbor, but close. Fairways are brown and muddy in places. Tee boxes were chewed up. Greens were very good, but slow. The staff is efficient and nice. It was not packed, but steady with golfers. No driving range but a small cage area to warm up.

Some interesting holes with nice views of the Griffith Park Observatory and downtown. Very quiet ... spotted a couple of coyotes just chilling out under a tree.

Overall, a good deal - 9 holes for $14.50 ($7.25 replay). Pace of play was about 2 hours each 9 we played. Keep expectations low and enjoy it.

Bonus Info: I used to live in this neighborhood and had some time to kill before playing so I stopped at my favorite breakfast joint in LA, The House of Pies. It's on Vermont, just south of Los Feliz Bvld. Great food, prices and service.

Paid $31 dollars for this glorified muni. Greens terrible. Some fairways are good. Traps okay. Boxes chewed up. Worth about the price paid, not much more in this condition.

Only complaint was when fellow GK'er Kainoa13912 accidently hit into the foursome ahead of us on 17. Look, thats part of golf, it happens ...

We yelled "four!", but this old man wanted to go on and on about it. You know the type, ready to thrown down .... bla bla bla ... all tough guys on the course. Would have apologized to him but he just wouldn't let it go, so screw him.

Never again.

I haven't been here for two years because of the crappy treatment the starter gave me last time I was here ... well, fool me once ....

Scored a $30 rate and decided to try it again with a buddy of mine. Got paired with another twosome and we headed out twenty minutes late ... the usual chaotic first tee mess you find here ... verbal fighting breaking out between the foursome on the tee box in front of us ... Christ ... they were arguing about something ...

Pace of play was 4 hours. Front nine greens showing signs of punching ... fairways decent ... parking stakes in all the fairways (cars park on course for Rose Bowl games) makes things confusing and distracting ... then the kicker.

Teeing off on 18 we were greeted with some children's event setting up IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FAIRWAY. Groups of people just walking through, kids running and playing on the green .. TRUCKS, PEOPLE and a huge foot race banner being erected IN PLAY .... basically had to call it a day. I went to the starter and told him this was unacceptable, no apologies were offered, just excuses ... the foursome ahead of us took a free round as compensation, but I just left ... didn't want it and will never will be back ...

Played Wednesday 10 /2 @ 3:40 pm with a old friend. Only got 14 holes in as we were stuck behind a slow threesome and we really weren't pushing them. Just kind of shooting the breeze and enjoying each others company.

Conditions are great. Everything is in above average conditions. Tough course, bring your "a" game. Staff is really nice - they kept the bar open late so we could watch the end of the Rays / Indians playoff game.

Finally played here and can now scratch it off my lists of "must play" courses.

$109 green fee on EZ links - The most I have ever paid for a round of golf. I'm more of a $15 - $50 budget / value golfer, but figured, why not, might as well play here one time.

Played with a buddy and another single. 4.5 hour pace.

Good customer service, no drinking water on course but cart girl made plenty of passes and they give you two bottled waters when you get the cart (they forgot to put ice in the cooler on the cart). GPS included. Comp driving range balls, but you do hit off mats.

As previous reviews have mentioned, fairways are a little brown in areas, but everything else is good or great. Bring extra balls, fairways are tight and unforgiving. Pro shop is expensive - $9 for a sleeve of Burner balls. Enjoy those amazing ocean views, that's what you are paying for. Quoted $100 replay rate at 4pm which I thought was ridiculous.

Worth it? For me, $109 for a round of golf is really pushing it on my budget. I've played nicer conditioned courses for less and won't be back unless a really cheap deal hits, although I doubt it will .... but I'll say recommend - play it at least once if you live here or are visiting from out of town.

Played 2pm on 9/19, 5hr round. Should have been 4.5 hrs but we were stuck behind a slow, senior walking foursome.

Overall, good conditions. Tee boxes seemed more un-level than level. Sand was white and fluffy. Greens and fairways are good. Nice views on back nine, no complaints. $29 w/ cart is great value for this course. Wish POP was faster. Waited on almost every shot.

Played 9/12 late afternoon, 3.5 hr round. Finished right at dark. Staff is friendly. Good conditions all around - fairways lush, most tee boxes are level, sand is crusty on top but relatively soft underneath. Greens are fast and kind of beat up - lots of unrepaired ball marks. 18 holes with cart (gps included) for $19 is a good value for this course. I liked it and will play again. Recommend.
