played on 2-16 saturday twilight. Found a tee time for 11 bucks with cart around 330 pm. This course is pretty much hackers paradise. Balls flying everywhere. Always i fun course to practice the short game and its always fun to drive the green on the short par 4's. Surprisingly the greens were faster than most high handicappers can handle. Pace of play really slow. Scholl canyon probably has the best views in the Los Angeles area. You could see the ocean on clear days.

played twilight yesterday 2-18 presidents holiday. Teed off around 145 pm and got in 17 holes before it got completely dark. Probably would of finished if the 5some two groups ahead of us moved alittle faster. Pace of play was still pretty good for a holiday. I always find that this course is usually pretty decent condition for a city course. Greens are alittle bumpy, but roll pretty good. Fairways need alittle trim, bunkers good(i was told, wasnt in one)tee boxes were level but some were very patchy.

Played yesterday on MLK day. Course conditions are dormant(dry, yellowish)but greens are in decent shape. Greens alittle bumpy, but thats understandable in the twilight hours. Finished the round in about 4 hours playing the last two holes in the dark.

played on black friday 11-23. Been wanting to play this course for years. Found a tee time for a great price online. When i got to the course, i realized there is no self parking(valet only). Also no range(besides a 4 hitting stalls). Those mats needed replacement as it was like hitting off concrete. Got off on time paired with another single(went out as a twosome). Pace of play wasn't to bad, but we did wait on most holes as expected. Course conditions were good besides the bunker which i thought were excellent. The 3-4 bunkers i was in i saw few unraked footprints(not the courses fault). Course pretty much has two holes that view the ocean. Cant really describe the last 4-5 holes on the course due to HEAVY fog that came on to the course. Couldn't see past 50 yards due to the fog. Not sure i would play this course at the rack rate or twilight rate they have, but at the discount rate i got, definitely.

played today 7-12 early morning. First time playing the crossing at carlsbad. Really enjoyed the layout of the course, how it winds through the canyons up and down across the bridges. Fairways are in good shape, bunkers seem like they were good(wasnt in one) and the teeboxes were nice and level. The greens in my opinion needed some help. Practice greens were perfect, but the greens on the course had alot of healed unfix divots and unrepaired divots. Fixed probably 2-3 divots per hole. The greens here are probably the most undulating greens i played on. If your not on the right level, a 3 putt is given. Course gets alot of noise from airplanes flying by, and the electric towers are a eye sore, but overall the course is solid.

played last friday 7-7. First time playing the chino creek 18. The greens a little bumpy, some patchy spots on the fairway, but overall the course was decently maintained. Really enjoyed the layout on the chino creek 18 compared to the butterfield 18. Also didn't smell any manure or sewage on the chino creek side which is a big plus. Saw the cart girl numerous times as the temperature was in the 90's. Pace of play was about 4 hours.

2nd round of the day on june 28. Played silverrock earlier. Found a living social deal for 10 dollars for this course including cart. Cathedral canyon is one the older courses in palm springs area so i wasn't expecting too much. Course conditions is below average to average. Layout was alright, but seems like some holes are similar. Seems like i was playing Upland hills in the palm springs area. Still not sure if its worth the 10 dollars, but if im driving 100 miles away from los angeles i rather pay 10-15 dollars more and played a better course.

played on june 28th early morning. Currently the greens, tee boxes, and fairways are aerated. Still, thought the conditions were pretty good. Very scenic course with wide fairways and water coming in play on maybe half the holes. Fairways were heavily saturated on some holes causing my drives to make divots instead of rolling out. Understandable with the high temps that come in the afternoon. Would love to play this course again.

played on june 7th morning. Second round of the day(soule park early morning). Course conditions is in great shape and probably will get better in the next month or so(city championship mid july). Greens were smooth, fairways nice and manicured, tee boxes leveled and the rough was about 1-3 inches. Pace of play was slow due to 4 groups ahead of us being 2 holes behind. Still the round took about 4 and half hours.

played on june 7th early morning. Second one out in the morning, saw a single walking 5-6 holes in front of me. It was my first time playing this course. Been wanting to play this course for awhile but it is long drive from los angeles. Course conditions are currently in good shape. Greens are currently healed from aeration,(except the 8th green) Looks like they just punch the 8th(little holes, no sand).Couple of fairways were also aerated, but couldnt tell if the were unless you look really closely. Pretty wide open layout with not many OB in sight. Finished 16 holes in 2 hours. The last 2 holes took 45 mins due to a tournament or club teeing off on the 17th playing better ball to start the round. Still it was a enjoyable round and enjoyed the serene setting that soule park brings.

played on 5-31 afternoon. This is my second round of the day. Taking advantage of my birthday rounds. Play on your birthday and just pay for cart (15 dollars). Great section on greenskeeper.org that has a list of birthday discounts. Rating of the course is low due to aeration that was done recently. Besides the greens, course is in good shape. Not many people on the course due to 85 degs plus temperature and aerated greens. Beware of rattlesnakes if your looking for balls. Almost stepped on a 3-4 foot baby rattlesnake on hole 11 par 3.

played 5-31 early morning birthday round. The best place to celebrate a birthday. Free round, range balls, cart and a meal. Customer service is A+ from the starter, pro shop, and the maintenance crew. First one to tee off thursday morning(550 AM). Course is in good shape from tee boxes to greens. Greens roll true, fairways were firm, sand has sand in them, and teeboxes were manicured. Finish the round in under 1 and half hours.
