Los Verdes is by far the best Public golf course in Southern California. Yes it takes 5.5 hours to play but the views are well worth the wait. For all of those not from SoCal if you have visiting friends this "Poor Man's Pebble Beach" is the place to take them. They will leave so jealous that you have courses like this for this cheap in your own backyard. Just remember every putt breaks toward the ocean

I love the course, just wish that those fortunate enough to get the early times understand that SLOW PLAY AFFECTS EVERYONE.

Played in the rain, had the whole course to ourselves, it was great. Course played very tough. If your not made of sugar I say go for it!

Course is scenic, especially the back nine, but you get what you pay for. Conditions on par w/ munis. Course layout is gimmickie and uninspiring. Pace of play extremely slow, expect 5-6 hr round. Best way to enjoy this course is to come at 3 pm and play back nine only (not sure that's even possible). Come for the views, not the golf experience, and you won't leave disappointed, like I did. Hole by Hole tips (above link) were helpful, but the spartan conditions of the course leaves a lot to be desired.

Came today with a visiting friend. Took us 2.5 hours to get on the course. Later we learned that this course is always busy, and plays 5 some almost every gourp. It is one of the most scenic public courses in the southern Cal. Given the nice ocean view and the price, we didn't really have much to complain. Tip from the guy at proshop: call at 6am 7 days in advance for you tee time.

I think this is a great municipal course for the price. The views make up for the slow pace. We had four in our group and all of us enjoyed the course.
